Yeah he's right. Civilized organic life in the galaxy was protected/tended to by the Leviathans, but they could not understand why organics would evolve, create AI/synthetics, then ultimately destroy themselves in a never ending cycle. The Leviathans created the Intelligence to make sense of the seemingly chaotic nature of organic galactic evolution. In turn, StarChild determined that the Leviathans were part of the problem and turned on them and harvesting them, creating the first Reapers

I wonder how well they travel on the surface, on the ground with only 3 legs. Well, obviously they can fly/levitate like the Reapers do. Still, wanna see them walk around with only 3 legs.

This is terribly confusing right now. History of the Reapers, but from what I understand from the DLC, Reapers, well, the first one - Harbinger is from Leviathans. Leviathans created the Intelligence ( Catalyst ). Then Catalyst came up with the idea of the Reapers.. So.. against will of its Creators it created the first Reaper. It seems that StarChild is just an AI what went rogue.
