Not quite - that pulse would knock out hundreds or thousands of reapers at the same time if they kept sending wave after wave. They hide because they gain nothing from fighting as they don't die from natural causes or have lifespans that go on for millions of years so they played it on the safe side until they saw a cycle that they could jump in on the war with with the greatest chance of victory. It's also some poor writing element that goes into it as well - the whole idea of the reapers getting slaughtered makes zero sense even if the intelligence got a lot of species on its side. They didn't have reapers yet and the lifeforms that would have against the Leviathan would have been completely outmatched. All Leviathan's could mind control and take over any enemy they faced which makes the whole idea they were slaughtered even more ridiculous.

Playing through mass effect 1 there's a planet that you scan and mentions a space faring race that is much older than the Protheins. I think they should dive into the deeper races in the next installment. After all the cycle is broken and the universe will have a new threat to fill the void of the now extinct reapers

I think there's barely enough of them to stave off their extinction so they wouldn't have the numbers required to enforce their control. And even if they had those, I don't see anything inherently bad/evil in such attempt. Who knows, maybe with them at the helm the galaxy actually would have been a better place.

They are the apex race, they are the first, they deserve to rule as Gods. They even say the AI and Reapers arent mistakes, they are doing exactly what they made them for. The only mistake was that they didnt count on them turning against them. If they regain control they WILL remake the AI, because they are that conceited and sure they could address the mistakes of the first time.

Even then the Leviathans would have to completely ignore the fact that a mere human was potentially able to end the war between the Quarians and Geth and create an alliance including both organics and synthetics. So, as far as logic is concerned, their next solution to any possible future conflicts would have to be "make more beings like Shepard", not "create super AI 2.0".

This is definitely my favourite DLC in ME3, Arrival being my favourite in ME2. The moment Leviathan took out the reaper almost firing on the shuttle as it left the planet, should have got the Reapers worried, they not only had Shepard against them, they also had Levaithan and the first apex race behind him now. That take out of the reaper was awesome. I know the Leviathan speech almost down to a tee, I just cant get my voice as good as that though.

Well if we're going off the factor that andromeda admitted that there were more then just those of the milky-way galaxy to enter the andromeda galaxy id say it is possible however id also have to give my doubts if only because the levithans didn't have or need to leave the galaxy because nothing was a threat to them until they made their mistake by making the reapers and even then by their own words they even said by the time they realized what the A.I. did it was too late. Me finding out that the Reaper ships were based off the anatomy of a Leviathan completely blew my mind, then learning that this was a DLC and not part of the main storyline. So much essential details to the plot is in this mission that answered how reapers existed in the first place. The moment I discovered Leviathan, I had so many questions. These creatures were strong enough to create an A.I. They had followers and ways to expand their influence. I don't know which was more scary: The Repears destroying the galaxy, or the fact the Leviathan creatures can easily force anyone to bend to their will. This DLC made the game more popular and interesting to learn how the Repears were made.

One of the greatest DLC's of all time but it should have been apart of the main game to begin with. It also has a massive plot hole where the Leviathan race would have never been just "slaughtered" when the AI/intelligence didn't even have any reapers at it's disposal with the first harvest. The Leviathan had all the capabilities to dominate any war with the rest of the galaxy considering how extremely powerful they are and with the ability to control organic lifeforms it makes absolutely no sense. A much more reasonable plot line would be the Leviathans had a massive galaxy spanning civil war that severely crippled their numbers and then the AI launched a war against them with virtually all the other species of the galaxy. Even that would be tough considering how easy they can mind control their enemies but at least it gives a far more realistic reason as to how such a powerful species could be knocked down to only a few.

This would have been a perfect plot thread to carry forward if they’d decided sooner to continue the franchise and not gone in the Andromeda direction. So with the reapers defected now the Leviathan are free to conquer the galaxy once more, and they’d be a very complex villain too! I guess they decided it was too similar to what was already done with the reapers and didn’t want to rehash old ideas? Maybe it could act as a B plot… Still would have been a neat idea if not totally original. Combine that with the after effects of curing the genophage, Krogan over running the Galaxy as another sub plot…. There was so much good stuff with potential there… oh well. Moving forward they would have had to factor out player choice a bit and make a few threads canon and throw others out, and some of ME 3’s long term consequences for some choices were pretty nuanced and in some cases frightening. I hear there is a more direct follow up in the works now, so we shall see what we get.🤷🏼‍♀️

A biological threat made sense after the organics vs machines storyline of the OG trilogy. However, the leviathans don’t seem dangerous IMO. More like a identical China. No interest in lesser species/civilisation but a passing interest/wants. Pay tribute and they’ll trade and interact in exchange. Shepard proves you can negotiate as well

@@chiefster11 Not really. They don’t seem to have an interest in war or conquest. Tribute and resources, sure. But it is not like you can’t negotiate. They even mention protection for there thralls. The leviathans in any sequel should only really rule either the Salarians or Krogan. Depending on choices for the genophage cure. That should also affect who’s on the council. Plus, a Quarian/Geth/Quarian-Geth(one vote) council member and humans. Maybe with some influence over the batarians as well but mostly uncaring to the lesser races unless tribute of some kind is offered first (whether that’s slaves, service or resources)

That was obvious. I mean the Leviathans even said that the Reapers and the AI werent really mistakes, they were still doing their intended purpose. The mistake wassnt the AI or the Reapers, it was that they allowed it to defeat them. If the Reapers are gone the Leviathans still see themselves as the apex race and will act accordingly. They will try to reassert dominance. And likely recreate the AI still so full of themselves to think they can do better this time.

So from what I can tell this makes a good story it's a good DLC you do a lot of soul searching and a lot of you know undiscovering things however the only thing that this ever does and they were supposed to be a bigger role in the final battle meaning they were supposed to help us out during the final battle they never showed up during the final flight they weren't on Earth to help us out and they have absolutely nothing to do with almost the entire franchise the only thing meeting these people and finding out about things is actually giving you dialogue at the final battle before you make your decision whether what stupid color you want to choose I mean all we get they could have solve this with a freaking terminal lol you know Shepherd gets a book and you read a stupid book it could have solved it with that problem throw it up to it lit up to a really good idea that they were going to help fight us they were going to help us fight the Reapers they were going to do a good job and then what happens when the fight comes they're removed from the game except for a few dialogues kind of a waste and kind of a disappointment kind of makes you have to think that all of a sudden we wanted to just basically Fast Track Mass Effect legendaries and they didn't give a s*** which honestly I kind of like what you did with Mass Effect Andromeda I'm still waiting for the DLCs if you think Mass Effect 5 is going to be any better well you've had four games and every one of those games you have just done a fast ass cross your fingers and pray to God it works with a lot of screw ups and speed bumps I mean I'm sorry but round five it doesn't look so good for you I hope that God we get our DLCs for an Andromeda and I hope that God and I'm praying for every God in the universe that Mass Effect 5 is where you get your head out of your ass and actually make a good game

They created a synthetic race to kill the organic races and prevent them from being killed by synthetics. I don't know how they prevent themselfs of going full Error 34 mode with that logic.

@@varric they didn't create the reapers. They created rhe catalyst which created rhe reapers. They couldn't control synthetics with their indoctrination so would try to kill them. This led to wars where synthetics kept winning and killing organics co trolled by the leviathans. They made an ai with the sole purpose of finding a solution to ending this cycle. The ai concluded that the best course of action was to stop organics creating synthetics. So it created an organic synthetic hybrid to do this.

ME3 is still a cluster F, why didn't they address basic things wrong. GX12 therm. pipes really a total diff. name, why have so many quests and absolutely no order of substance? Oldest quests listing does nothing to resolve as you would think Priority quests are a priority and you easily miss out on some things. Great game in many ways but such a fail in many ways !
