Reegar is definitely a must have for stripping enemy shields early on. Coupled with overload it also destroys the Kett bosses extremely quickly once the shield is down.

The Disciple was my favorite vanguard shotgun for ME3. Lightweight, decent damage (with some Damage over time effect if the opponent was knocked back) with way more stopping power than its actual damage output seemed to warrant.

hmmm... that crusader looks good. i usually use piranha. lets me get up close and hammer the enemy with it. they just stagger and can't fight back until i finish them off with melee. i love that the piranha has a large clip and rate of fire too.

They are, except the n7 crusader wich is better for mid range. You will be most of the time up close, sniper are best used at long range against armor but are weak against shields (in theory, actually they still hit hard against them), shotguns get a buff at short range and get a bonus against shields but are weak against armor, so, grab a pistol with high damage as secondary wep for that, or use fire ammo.

i use piranha and dhan shotguns. piranha with plasma seeking missiles while dhan with kinetic coil. i think it cpuld reach up to 2000+ damage with passives and mods.

you should think about making a tier list for each catagory of weapons, like worst to best shotgun

A tier list would be very hard and time consuming series to make due to all the augmentation combos. There must be like hundreds of different combos.

The Dhan is extremely good when you couple it with a vintage heat sink. Otherwise, it actually is slightly worse at filling the role of a short range high dmg burst(pop out of cover, shoot, pop back into cover) than some of the pistols and in particular, the Crusader. You can see this in the video: the Crusader usually kills most enemies in the same amount of hits it takes the Dhan to do the same - except the first shot from the Dhan drops the enemies to around 20-30%hp, where as the Crusader only drops them to around 50-40% and is hitscan, with no need to lead enemies.

i wouldnt use it on a vanguard tough the damage is awesome but just to clips and the reload time is painful slow i use it with my full biotic when the big fellas charge in as a secondary high damage single target weapon is perfect

Err I found a weapon assauly rifle called L-89 Halberd in a npc's shop, does say research, it a reversion of the mattock. Google says upgradeable.

Disciple is used by Asari commandos/justicars, not just any Asari. Lore-wise its used in close combat by a vanguard type of Asari, makes sense for me to make it the hardest hitting milky way shotgun.

But its unfair since we should have got something like the Claymore, but the Ruzad wasnt a 3 shots claymore, it was more like a clear early game weapon with little impact and dmg. Disciple has more ammo per clip and more accuracy. Ruzad is just cool in its model. Im sureprised they removed Eviscerator, Wraith, Raider, Graal.... A lot of outstanding shotguns, to just leave a few meh ones, with few which are actually worth going with.

How do you unlock advanced research for the Piranha shotgun? I am lvl.42 and I still cant research it past Tier V.

You have to have researched all the way up to and including V, then the advanced opens up. It won't show up unless you've maxed the regular.

you need to learn level 5 first, 6 - 10 will unlock automatically

Unknown User build it with shield oscillator and plasma charge system and throw on two mods with -clip size and it will give you 25% shields everytime you shoot it without ever overheating!

I do, I carry a sweeper for mid range targets while moving in and reegar to deal with shields/remnant along with a piranha to deal with everything that manages to survive.

I carry a N7 Crusader for longer range armored enemies and N7 Piranha for everything else. I also carry a Carnifex "just in case" even though with my Vanguard build mid-to-long range combat isn't really a thing. Thinking about trying out a Reeger instead of N7 Piranha since I don't have to aim and this game has waaay more shielded enemies than armored enemies.

enemy level scale with your character level, high level enemy got more HP I am level 117 in this video
