Because I've been to panels where the devs have talked about asset limitations and that's why you never saw females of turians or other non-human races ME1. It had limited dialogue options, failed to continue the story archs of all ME companions into the base game, violated the first rule of Lovecraftian horror, (never make the cosmic horror understandable), utilized a Deus ex Machina to resolve the game, and has an ending which is disjointed from the rest of the game and lore. Instead of capitalizing on the greatness of ME2, it did a 180. And that's aside from the controversies of the ending at launch, Tali's unmodeled 2d stock image face, and using a slide show to end a AAA series.

"This ancient alien race built an AI to save the galaxy from Artificial threats, but it backfired" The deus ex machina I get. But it also made sense "There have been so many cycles, people must have started to try and find a way to stop it". I hated the ending and find MEHEM better, earnestly. I hated Tali's photo being a stock image. The ending didn't feel all that disjointed "the citadel was here before us and Javik said it was there before the protheans" . I honestly had more fun in 3 than I did in two, ending notwithstanding, the story felt epic in places; maybe it's my Halo Reach love here but the feeling of your back against the wall, that you're it. Really tickled my fancy. I'm glad they got rid of the upgrading like it was in 2 because my least favourite part was was scanning for shit. The only part of 2 I like more is it let us romance Tali first, because as we all know: Tali=best girl

Doubt it. Bioware made it clear that none of the endings of ME3 are canon. This is as far as they will probably reference the original series, with no actual information concerning the fate of the Milky Way being portrayed, so as to not invalidate any of the choices made by the players of Mass Effect 1-3. This game is set up to be autonomous of the original trilogy, as a way to honor the independence of the players choice. If there is any future mention of the events of ME1-3, then they will probably have some settings the players will have to choose from, to determine which ending to the series the player wants referenced. Though it wouldn't be something major for Bioware, it would still be a lot of work to program. What they did currently is the easiest alternative.

They come from the dark space, but we don't know if the dark space is just another gate to another galaxy or not, all attempt to explore it resulted in failure. The leviathian confirmed they we're created in the milky way, therefore it only know's it and the dark space

Right, well I think people are jumping the gun on this. Things to remember: 1. The Reapers were destroying comm boeys in the Milky Way as they advanced across the Galaxy. 2. The Mass Relays were rendered inoperable at the end of Mass Effect 3. Because of this, radio transmissions from the Milky Way are now limited to Light Speed. Until the Milky Way tries to establish contact with the initiative, it's gonna take 2.5 Million years to find out what happened to the Milky Way.

There was 1 QEC device on the Nexus for a channel to the Milky Way,but aperantly our end(MW) was destroyed,sadly due to limitations on QEC knowledge even if they found the broken device and repaired it,it wont be able to establish a connection since it would technically be a different divice(QECs work by basically pairing with eachother,so no way to pair it with the Andromeda one).

Even without the bugs the game was inherently bad. Underlying story was a copy paste of ME1-3, overall story was bland and somewhat cheesy, it was a poor mix of linear based story progression with "open world" style gameplay which at times one would hinder the other, combat was alright but unlike the trilogy it mostly took place in open environments which didn't work as well as say ME3, and the characters tried too hard to fit a "mold" and simply lacked depth. This isn't even including bad UI/menu design, poor voice acting(not quality but dialog not matching the tone), lack of character development, choices have little impact, etc. I still think the original concept for MEA was a good one, having a sandboxish game taking place in the ME universe without Shepard and seperate from the Milky Way, but MEA is probably one of the worst designed game I've seen.

I think it is. Turn your attention towards Cora Harper, she shares the exact same last name with Jack Harper, who created Cerberus. The Illusive Man is Jack Harper, and that is heavily concerning. We also know that Cerberus had vast amounts of money, so to think that Cerberus could very well be behind all of this isn't a silly idea.

So the Initiative was a preventative plan against extinction. Not just expanding humanity further into space, but making sure that if the war was lost, that at least some part of humanity could still survive, far away from the Reapers where they might not find them. If it turns out that the Reapers won, it's only so much more devastating regarding Shepard's sacrifice, regardless of the ending. Whether they lived or died, they only won the battle. But it was never clear that they won the war.

I know I may be alone in this, but I want an Andromeda 2 for lore reasons. I'm a lore guy, half the games I play are just for the lore, and I found the lore here to be fascinating. And this game left a few things open, like the Kett are still out there and a threat, who was the mysterious benefactor? Stuff like that, don't get me wrong, I'm THRILLED we're getting a Mass Effect 4 (if I heard correctly, though I'm a little miffed it means endings blue and green get ignored), but I'd also like to see Andromeda's story resolved.

For Ryder, hearing that the Reapers invaded the Milky Way Galaxy destroying all advanced life, I had the same feeling, it's a lot to take in. But as a player I keep telling myself. "It's just a game, and besides, out of all the 3 choices (4 if you count refusal) you know how you ended the Mass Effect Trilogy." Although I have played through ME3 many times, I've favored destroying the Reapers for few reasons: 1) Even if all synthetics are destroyed, they can be created again and all species can learn from their mistakes. 2) This way, the Reapers will cease and the cycle will be broken. 3) The selfish part of me wants to see Shepard alive.) If/when Bioware decides to continue with Mass Effect, I hope they give us (the fans) the option to decide how we played through the trilogy (Which Shepard, who died on Virmire, the Collector Base, who Shepard romanced with, etc.) Liara could send the story to Andromeda Initiative, considering that she and Alec shared information with each other, and the Asari have a 1000-year lifespan so after 600+ years she (if she survived the Reaper Invasion) would be 743 years old. I say this because I would like to hear how the Milky Way is doing, also to know what happened to Shepard’s squad mates after the invasion, how they lived out their lives. But anyways, ME Andromeda, good game!

This was probably one of the only things I enjoyed about andromeda and it was done so well that it honestly improved my whole opinion of the game (for whatever that's worth). I literally could not have cared less about anything else in Andromeda but this had me so intrigued and the pay off was so good... just absolutely sends chills down your spine wondering what's left of the milky-way and the last messages were honestly haunting as fuck. That Alliance warning reminds me of country wide missile warnings... the whole thing is really daunting.

They should have either killed him off completely, or given us a full ending showing shep's future. I've always had a haunch about that. The kett do look like protheans. In one of the trilogy games, it is mentioned the protheans had other plans, but it is not known what those were. Likewise... Really could care less about some bad early facial animations and a few bugs at launch. I liked the story, (most of) the voice acting, a lot of the characters... and particularly the more open and expansive feel of it. It felt more like ME1 in that regard, rather than the fairly linear design of ME2 and ME3. Could have done without Tann's voice or Cora's stupid hair, but no game is perfect. And at least the visual aspects can be improved through mods.

I've just come up with it that, perhaps, the "benefactor" was someone "indoctrinated" by the Leviathan; I know it is unlikely, the Leviathan told Shepard that they used the other species as servants, but what if perhaps, in an act of kindness (I doubt it), they decided to free someone and gave them the visions of the reapers a lot before Shepard? Or that someone managed to break free of their indoctrination and starts the Andromeda Initiative after Shepard confirmed it?

Yeah its pretty shit. Couldn't get over the fact that I was just talking to mannequins with mistimed expressions and jerky head movements. That and the game stayed as far as possible from creativity, just a banal repackaging of the OT's themes and concepts.

Agree, the game was like one of the most disappointing and terrible broken games I've played. But this storyline was the only storyline that I liked, it was good and I always liked how the real reason we went to Andromeda was because the reapers were coming. I just wish they came up with a better reason to go to Andromeda. God the writing is so piss poor in this game. To be honest I bet if they did finish this storyline about the benefactor the writers are so shit they'll probably make it out to be Shepard or something stupid.

I find kinda interesting that original trilogy was all about machines overcoming their creators and Andromeda introduced the opposite cycle - machines being creators of organic life. Never noticed this... shame we wont be getting another Mass Effect "package" as great as original trilogy... that was something truly unique.

Maybe I am wildly off but it seems like to me that the scourge is what happened to Andromeda after Shepard turned on the relays. The Kett look like and act a little like the collectors. The remnant could be some sort of distant geth, for some reason the geth were using a relay to view Andromeda. The timing is about right the scourge happened more than 500 years ago but the time is not pin pointed. In 600 plus years the geth or the green ending could develope better tech that brings them to Andromeda before the Ryder's. It would be possible that the Jardaan are green ending Aliens that traveled to Andromeda only to lose to the Kett who are protheans turned into collectors/kett. tin foil hat

From my understanding, the Kett is far bigger though. That the Archon himself was acting on his own with his own campaign, possibly hinting at a much richer and larger setup in the actual Andromeda Galaxy.

i dearly hope u r correct in the kett being from the milky way cuz if that A galaxy is home of the kett, they r seriously behind on technology compared 2 the humans, 600 years behind, us exploration team should of gotten fuckin destroyed by their military in a heartbeat since we traveled with equipment 600 years old, plus what in the shits is the likelyhood that they use wheels and guns as well???

I'm pretty sure the Protheans just enslaved other races. The Reapers definitely changed the Biology of their victims, Making them more Reaper-esque. Personally, I think the Kett are closer to Reapers in that regard, but they do share many aspects with the Protheans as well now that I look at it.

I thought he meant that they only had one type of tactic with which to fight the Reapers, Since only Protheans were in any sort of say in military decisions. Well, either way, I think we can both agree that the Kett clearly had some influence from both groups in their design.

I loved how many questions this game left open. There were some flaws in the story flow, context, and how it worked with an open world environment, but a sci-fi story should never show all its cards at once. ME1 had the same element to it.

The illusive man was right on a 2nd choice in mass effect 2, discussing a reaper structure to reverse engineer it and make it a weapon against the reapers but Shepherd decline the idea.

People can sah what they want, Andromeda was a good game and i had fun with it from my own perspective. Just because shepard died does this not Mein that there can't be anymore mass effect games. And they even made this in a whole ither galaxy bit still payed Respekt to the OG Characters. But that is just my opininon
