This is the speech Captain Kirrahe gives to his troops before the raid on Saren's labs.
"You all know the mission, and what is at stake.
I have come to trust each of you with my life -- but I have also heard murmurs of discontent. I share your concerns. We are trained for espionage; we would be legends, but the records are sealed. Glory in battle is not our way.
Think of our heroes; the Silent Step, who defeated a nation with a single shot. Or the Ever Alert, who kept armies at bay with hidden facts. These giants do not seem to give us solace here, but they are not all that we are.

It's so good. The only thing I think could've made it better is if a more energetic species like Krogan or Human said it. Sure, the slow monotonous presentation fits a salarian black ops soldier, but something about the way humans do calls to battle just gets the blood pumping way more. Ya know?

You need to help out his team by doing 4 things in order: 1- Screw up thier communication triangulation thing 2- shoot down some sort of dish thing 3-Go to the refueling station and destroy the sentry bots 4-When prompted about the alarm you need to disable it only and not trigger the alarm near the salarian teams If done in this order he will stay alive =)

Yes, only third objective necessary to save captain, otherwise squad member who joins him will radio captain fell. Coming back for previous objectives will not change failure of inaction into success like doing a paragon action will not get rid of renegade points.

This speech really drives home that for all the heroes and legends out there, the ones who mattered most were the unsung everymen/women/etc on the front lines. They might not have been insanely skilled operatives, or ace pilots, or exposed to mythical powers, or otherwise singular forces of nature. But when it mattered most, and they were the only ones available, they chose to risk their lives -- even willingly give them up -- because someone needed to step up and give the galaxy a fighting chance. They were the ones who, as Kirrahe himself said, held the line.

I personally like the Salarians the most out of the Council Races. Overall, they seem the most sensible (Genophage and related antagonism with the Krogan notwithstanding), and they have some great personalities across the whole trilogy. Jondum Bau in ME3, Mordin Solus and, of course, Kirrahe himself. The Salarian Union, holding the line, developing sterility plagues and singing patter songs since 500 BCE

For most of my first playthrough I greatly looked down upon the Salarians as honorless cowards that relied on their sharp intellect and wit to be their only saving grace, yet never even shown in action. But through the stories such as The League of One, their codex regard and the interaction with these infiltrators was one fo those rare turning points in opinion, an impressive feat for a game to have on a vet. After this scene I was cursing BioWare for not allowing us a Salarian party member.
