I lived with my parents while my husband was on deployment, they live on a ranch in the middle of nowhere so, internet wasn’t the best. I tended to just play Mass Effect over and over. My Mom would always come sit to watch to see the story, I wasn’t allowed to play one save without her so she could see what happened lol She told me she misses hearing the music from it from the living room during the day now that I’ve gone, so I shared this playlist with her. @WITE FOX I'm not really interested in the remaster. It's not even as good a simple Nexus Mod called ALOT, and is wrapped in about a 60-80 dollar cheese. From what I have seen, the remaster looks worse than the old game, while ALOT looks WAY better. BioWare has lost the talent that brought us the original Mass Effect. All that is left is cash grab whores with zero talent. This is made apparently obvious by (1). NOT fixing the endings to ME3 and (2). editing out Miri's famous ass (just to value shame heterosexual people). Never mind the deal breakers like fixing the endings....

@@galacticquasaur2956 If you can say that the MELE was better than the original, with "updated Graphics and Gameplay with Smoother FPS, then you must have "found" and played the original trilogy. You are shilling too hard. If you own the OT, there are Mods on the Nexus for free that make the game look better than the MELE (on PC) - and they maintain all of the original game mechanics as well. I am a Purist - I love the Original Mass Effect game in ALL of its glory - even the way the Mako handles. As far as I stand, there is NO way I would pay the ME again unless BioWare fixes ME3 and those horrendous dogfart endings and restores the Milky May, Commander Shepard, and crew.

It fit the change in tone from ME1 to ME2 and as epic as some of the music is in ME2/ME3, I 100% prefer the synths of the first game. It was so unique and cool :(.
@CelestialDraconis3 жыл бұрын
I kinda think that shift was the point. In ME1, we (and humans) were new to the galactic scene, everything felt alien, literally. This was represented using synths to convey an otherworldlyness to the game world. But by ME2, humanity has stepped up their game. They've either showed that they're heroes willing to make the sacrifices for the greater good or an ambitious race striving for power and dominance. There's also a sense of urgency, a calm before the storm (the point in the trilogy where we know the Reapers are coming, but they haven't arrived yet). And so, we hear a lot more of those brass and string instruments come in. By ME3, humanity is the most initiative race and take front and centre stage. But the war is devestating and to show that, we hear more mellow orchestral music and lots of piano. I'll always miss the synths and techno in ME1, but the music direction in the trilogy is really neat.

@@jakeola10 I get you, Jake - the Genophage chapter was among the best. Much of the rest of the game was terribad in my opinion though. Vigil gave me code in ME1 that could override the starbrat, unlock relays around the Citadel, and even open the Citadel and expose Sovereign to the combined Citadel fleets and the 5th fleet? In one scene the device plans we get from the Mars Archive can do incalculable destruction to the Reapers, and in the next scene we need to adapt it to work with Reaper tech in order for it to be powerful enough?! (Hello, indoctrinate much?) Lets not even get into how the starbrat was made by the Leviathan to prevent organics from making AI, which would in turn wipe out said organics. Leviathan, who - by the way - were all but wiped out by the AI that they made to prevent..... Do you see how galactically stupid this is? Why does starbrat look like the kid that Spehard sees on Earth? The issues I have with ME3 are many and varied, but worst of all there is no win. Every single choice sucks. I feel that the game could have tied things back to Ilos and the secrets hidden there, and the surviving Protheans that went through the Conduit to alter the Keepers from receiving the Reaper signal. I most certainly felt ripped off by the "Day 1 DLC" From Ashes and the dumbest Prothean ever Javik.

Nassana Dantius (or Commander Rentola on Virmire) got us the license, but it allowed you to get the TOP TIER Biotic Amps and Omni Tools, the Nexus and the Prodigy series, respectively. @@tonycmac Well, I see your point, and I'll raise another (plus one more). ME1, while certainly having a much more diverse array of armor than the other two combined, didn't handle their implementation well. In the first place, modification and interchangeability were barely a thing, and the designs were bland/repetitive to say the least. My second point, is that the transaction system was kind of confusing. I.e. you had to pour over each stat on whatever piece of equipment that you were browsing over and see whether or not it fit your build (or your squadmate's, which was pretty annoying in and of itself and too micromanage-y for my tastes) enough to do more damage or protect you (or, again, your squadmate). Bonus point, the 'license" system felt like a pointless waste of credits that shouldn't have been implemented in the first place. I mean, I know brand loyalty is a thing; but they really should've put more thought into the transaction system and streamlined it to make it more fun, so us players can focus on either the combat, story, or exploration aspects of the game!

@@Geofiendlux I like your per perspective. Mount all of your team in Colossus or Predator armor before you go on an op. Do you have any idea how cool it is to have your whole team in matching armor? @alexandernorman53375 жыл бұрын
Most of the repetitiveness in the models and textures of the armors, weapons, side quests, and such were due to the need to fit the completed game within just one disc. Mass Effect 1 felt so retro and the introduction to an amazing world. Mass Effect 2 Bought in an amazing story and broadened the romance stories. Mass Effect 3 had a bitter sweet ending to the trilogy Amdromeda is amazing too. Granted the hate it had to the fanbase, but it has its moments

Any chance we could get a version of this with the ambient and NPC chatter in the background? Would to able to listen to version of this that makes me feel immersed and like I'd actually on the Citadel.
@tonycmac4 жыл бұрын
Have you gotten the PC version? On PC you can get the Ambient version with the NPC chatter as well. Otherwise, you have to make a new character and park them here so that you can just log in and enjoy it.

@@shaprada I get you bro. This is funny cuz I am also into steampunk stuff and dieselpunk. Not so long ago I didnt give a fuck about space scifi at all. But then I decided to play ME and I started to like some other things like Dune and dead space for some reason.

Atmosphere-wise, Mass Effect 1 is something special. I wish it was a bit longer and didn't have that many boring and monotonous "explore the planet" clone side-quests.
@tonycmac3 жыл бұрын
Who are you calling boring and monotonous? Those quests were filled with unknown dangers and stuff that no non-engineer could hack. Not to mention Thresher Maws.
@aleksamilosevic87922 жыл бұрын
Those quests were great but ME2 never expanded on them.

doing a playthru of the trilogy this month. playing mass effect 1 is always such a treat... then i get to 2, and it's HORRIBLE. no more rpg mechanics or stats, super strict cover-based shooting, AMMO is for some reason now a limiting factor, music's not as good, all my favorite characters are gone, color palette is now an ugly red-shifted scheme... good lord what were they thinking, 3 is pretty great tho
@Li_Tobler4 жыл бұрын
Finally, someone who feels about it the same way I do! Especially about music and the ugly brownishly-red colors! I feel like futurism was always about geometry and a cold color scheme, so why would they make that shift in design is beyond me. Also the textures look kinda TOO sharp, idk how to describe it, but the overall picture isn't as smooth and pleasant to look at as it was in the original ;(
@Li_Tobler4 жыл бұрын
Btw the same thing happened with their Dragon age series as well. The first one is 10/10 and the second is a straight up questionable ugly rushed disaster

I love Mass Effect and how the game is handled. ME2 and the voice acting is superb, but it leaves a lot of the old game forgotten. ME3 is a lost cause because everything that made ME1 and ME2 is gone - if you played the game once, then you have played all versions of it - and THIS Wards moment is not there.
@feartheoldblood4 жыл бұрын
Respectively: I enjoyed each game until the trilogy ended with the multiple choice ending. 1 and 2 are masterpieces of their own design, 3 was less great but overall a wonderful story. So much content, great writing and background codex information. I do believe we shall never see the likes of such an exciting space opera as Mass Effect was.
@aleksamilosevic87922 жыл бұрын
ME2 also had great music wdym. Characters and character development was the best in ME2. Ammo was limited so insanity players would feel more challanged. I agree with the OG RPG factor and the red colour theme. ME1 felt a lot more alive.
