Growing up a girl (who just so happened to like videogames), it never felt "wrong" to play as a male character. Nor did it feel dismissive to who young me was irl. The ability to get immersed in the story of a fictional world does not depend on your real life status, but rather, one's ability to empathize with the motives and traits of the characters within said world. Of course, being able to choose a female character in games like Skyrim was fun, but so was playing as a male on replays. When people demand the protaginist look like them in order to enjoy a medium, they're quite frankly telling on their own disability to empathize with people different from themselves. (On a side note: A lot of ladies do not mind the slightest to have a handsome and capable male protagonist to look at while playing, same as many dudes enjoy playing as a beautiful and nimble woman.)

As a kid I learned to master Nina Williams in Tekken 3, she had an appealing look and great move set. Then I found out Metroid and oh boi, Samus took my heart. So weird isn't it? They find an attractive model, then plug it into an AI image generator and basically tell it to turn it into a man. I did the opposite to the Fable 4 character and made her hot within a few easy prompts. You can do the complete opposite also and turn attractive people plain or really ugly. I would put the Starwars Outlaw chick in the plain, mid range manish area. She isn't like ogre level of ugliness like the Fable 4 character but its an obvious uglifying of the orig model. I honestly don't get it... you get people into the game with a cool attractive character, then if the games good also, they will stick with it. First glance you see these woke games and you don't want to even try them even if they might have something good in them.

Sadly the original staff in the company are all gone, and it's been hijacked by the activists now. Is a shame cause I was quite curious into getting Suicide Squad, until it came out as being a live service game, and so passed on it. Expect the same will happen with the next Grand Theft Auto, with a lot of the original staff gone now.

Rey is not badass. That's the problem. She is the equivalent of all force powers unlocked at the start. That Star Wars character. What is wrong with her animations. It's like they didn't bother animating reactions to whats going on. It's just default looking straight ahead. All the characters are doing it, actually. And I can't stand when they insert story lines during movie events. One, because you know they have to fail. Like in Solo's case. And two, they break stuff. Like Obiwan does. Also, the only reason why people are obsessed with Stellar Blade. Is simply because western games have made crap looking women. If this never happened. And the game came out. Everyone would say she's hot. And the rest of the time would be talking about the game play and story. I remember Dragon's Crown. I went: Oh, hot Amazon? Is this game good? Cool, it's good. I'll buy it.

I'm glad I saw this. I wishlisted Star Wars Outlaws but I am going to unwishlist it when I get home. What does the actress think about what they did to her likeness? She is very pretty. I would have been ok with the mechanic lady from The Mandalorian if they wanted to go with someone who was homely looking. But in her case, it would present an interesting story and we might get a cool tie-in so I'd buy it.

I'm a WoW player. WoW is the only "live service" I will ever have time to play. And WoW's retention isn't just about the game itself, it's about the guild and friends I have in it. The People. And "my online friends since 10 years" or "my 20 years old character and all her achievements" ain't a product game studios can develop. Heck, Blizzard can't even sell me on the other live services in their own BattleNet ecosystem like Diablo IV or Overwatch, because WoW already gobbles up my time. Because of that, the games that get sold to me are the single player ones. Subnautica. Hollow Knight. Ori. Dead Cells. Cyberpunk 2077. Elden Ring. Stellaris. Sea of Stars. Starfield. And yes, I still return to modded Skyrim and Minecraft on the side every year or two. Those are the games I'll buy. Live services just can't compete.

I am playing Horizon Forbidden West and it is so SAD. so Sad how they ruined their hard work, the amazing atmosphere and setting, the technology behind this, and sucked all the male energy out and replaced it with lame gay women. they are beautifully modelled with a ton of detail, but yes around every corner is a woman giving you quests. the couple of strong males in this entire game are so well done too which makes it much sadder, they know how to make them, they know what real diversity is, but their version is to erase strong men and replace them with weak men or women. Sad Sad Sad. I am almost finished with the game I only have 2 main missions left, but it became bland and boring by the 900th strong female leader. The plants tribe is a joke. IRL they would be destroyed by any other tribe. they are mostly women and children in a harsh environment. SAD! Edit: and Aloy's face changes between cut scenes and real play. as if halfway they decided to fatten her face to avoid male gaze. once you unlock the make up person and put make up on her that model looks much more feminine.
