Fun Fact, The 'Carbon Taxes' are double dipped by Sales Tax That means that everything you buy in Canada has been having costs added and compounded at every step of the process Your farmer pays more for his products because his suppliers gas cost has gone up, and then tax on that additional cost. His actual farming equipment costs more to run, and his tax costs are increased by that increase. Now he has to hire a trucker to get it to the store, Guess what's been going on for that trucker? JRPG stands for Japanese Role-Playing Game. The reason the acronym exists is not of ill/rude-intent but as RPG games have differing styles of storytelling/gameplay between Western and Eastern countries back then when games on console were quite new. There is one clear thing, Japan did make RPG games a lot more popular back then (especially with Final Fantasy) and thus claimed that throne... So, it is a way to respect Japan in that regard, so seeing unwarranted trash talk can be seen as disrespect to both genre and audiences that enjoy said genre.

Bruh. To ANY adult, 5 hours is craaaazy time, especially those with kids. I get at least 1 game in, maaaaybe 3 or 4 if I'm super lucky. Once the baby goes to grandma's, I got about 2 hours before the kid gets home from school. I fuckin WISH I had the time to play for 5 hours... That's also what's so crazy about this game. Most players are adults with limited time. For this game to have such amazing player retention, and time sunk in to things like MOs, it obviously has to be an amazing game.

JRPGs are narratively separate from WRPGs. WRPGs feature heavy choice-based gameplay with the player controlling someone who is either a blank canvas or has a lot of blank spots for the player to fill in themselves through gameplay choices and story decisions. These games are more about the player's self expression. JRPGs have you piloting a predetermined character going through a (mostly) predetermined story. This is about the player experiencing the story of these characters. It's their story, not the players. They're fundamentally different experiences.

In terms of TTRPGs, games in the west seem to be a bit more player centric, vs JRPGs are more like a railroad. It is a style choice, some players prefer one over the other. Though arguably most of the games I have seen would be annoyed by being railroaded, as they create their characters and want to play them however they want. Interesting contrast, as my latest game was pregenerated characters in a premade dungeon crawl, which does make it sort of feel like a JRPG.

Just started last night, and one thing i hook with is the aesthetic. On mission, i can see other Destroyer squadrons in areas nearby, launching ordnance, which also shows in those near arenas. I can see blue beacons of other team's drops or exfil points, and i can be confident they are holding the line, too. In orbit, i can see a good representation of all the other squadrons in the region of the planet just by looking out a window, and i know those are *actual* player ships, not something thrown in to give a sense of scale. Hell, halfway through the tutorial, i realized those rockets launching in the background were other players finishing the tutorial and going off to war with their capes. I havent seen a good example of community-ness (outside of MMOs) since Dark Souls 1, with you being able to hear other players ringing the bells.

Saying that JRPG is a racist term is just insane to me. When growing up, the term JRPG signified to me and everyone I knew a level of quality, depth, and player skill that you just never see in a western RPG. And that still is true today. Nearly every western RPG made today is designed to appeal to the casual masses, to the point where most of them just play themselves. It's no different than putting a "made in China" or "made in America" tag on an item. It tells you the quality and cultural mindset that went into the creation of that item.

I feel the title of this video is misleading. Helldivers 2 devs have not said a word about the Sweet Baby Agenda. I clicked this video with the intent of being enlightened about them FINALLY making a statement, but that was not the case at all. Instead, we got another opinion piece about how because the focus of Helldivers 2's existence is to give the player a good time as opposed to pushing modern social politics. I understand your example of what Remedy is doing and did to the Alan Wake/Control/Max Payne universe, but that example doesn't mean that the devs of Helldivers 2 don't share the same goals/opinions. As a matter of fact, the only representation about the issues you constantly bring up was from their community manager. Until the devs themselves speak publicly on the matter I don't believe titles like this or the constant push from your videos that the Helldivers 2 devs are going against the grain are correct. I say this as a strong supporter of your work. I'd hate to wake up one day and the devs finally decide to speak on the matter and completely shit all over your videos claiming they rejected. Reminded me how, back in the late 2000's I was on an American forum that also had a common chatroom, and the chat filter would censor specific words, including 'cum'.
