You are correct. It's the same exact thing with "green energy" and "zero carbon." They know already the insignificant amount of western carbon emission reduction won't make a dent in the global amount because of countries like China. They know everyone in the world can't live like people do in Western countries. Yet we're told an electric car or recycling is going to turn this around. Or better yet, more carbon / green taxes to squeeze more out of the working class.

People from India have told me they were sold a bunch of lies by immigration agents who said living in the West would be magical, but then they arrive here and find their standard of living is worse because our cost of living is so high. It's a shame, because they spend their life savings moving over when they would have been better off staying at home and building a life there. It makes life worse for them and us.

I am from India and let me say few things honestly. Mass immigration is a death sentence to the host country. When you allow countless people in who are from a different culture into your country, you are diluting yourself. The things that made you better will fade away. Your way of life will change. The quality of the people you allow to immigrate also matters. With systems like visa (work permits), you are allowing well educated, skilled folks inside who are ready to adapt to your culture and also contribute to your economy. Yes, they do take away your jobs, but they also become you. But when you allow jobless people with no skills to enter your country, you need to provide them asylum at the expense of taxpayer money. They are a burden and also less like to adapt. You need to elect better leaders who are not afraid to take hard decisions (in your interest). It’s a pity what’s happening to Europe. The flood of immigrants they are taking in today, is going to reshape the continent for the next century.

Correct me if I'm wrong. According to what I understand, the person in the video is stating that US elites must not suck quality people from impoverished countries who can become agents of change in their respective homeland. Brain drain is not reducing global poverty, as American elites would like the average American to believe. He discussed the better-off poor (1:52), which is essentially the demographic you are referring to in your comment. To summarize, the individual in the video is essentially arguing that brain drain is not only having detrimental impact in poor countries. The immigration also has a negative impact on the host communities in the area, many of whom are unemployed, low-income workers, or members of the vulnerable class. The immigrant population, even those of high quality, is unsustainable for the natural, social, and physical infrastructure of the host country.

Equality is a constitutional right. What is the penalty for usurping the constitution openly and replacing equality with equity? There was no amendment? There should be a harsh penalty for this behavior. This equity is evidence that USA has been overthrown by another power. It's amazing how simple it was for them to do this. Like the Jews, those that oppose this change that enriches an elite political class where the most extreme objection may be the grooming of children through sexual manipulation a new for of molestation, which sort of should be alarming, yet 50% of the electorate of USA, specifically the democratic electorate sign on this mutilation through a vote.

I live in rural Asia. Saw a lot of poverty(by modern standard) here. Yet everyone seems to be quite well fed. They may have low income(especially if converted to USD), can't afford high speed internet or fancy junk food, but at least staple food is enough, natural food is abundant. Education and healthcare are provided by the government at minimal cost. Honestly, I've been on the Internet long enough and watch so many videos on KZbin that I even pity poor Americans more. With all the drug problems, unaffordable healthcare, poor educations, high crime rates, high cost of living and policies that definitely and obviously favor the rich. Yeah, I don't think Americans need to came here to help, It's much better if they stay there help their own people. The lack of knowledge and care of local culture will only mess things up.

This guy is saying we’re getting the best quality immigrants. That was true in the beginning. But today this is no longer true. The majority is of substandard quality. They are people who create the same problems in America as they did from where they came from. And we can’t help them all have a better life where they are. They are incapable of sustaining improvement without constant babysitting. It would never end. We can’t be the world’s daycare. There’s a whole other agenda here. And it’s not to help poor immigrants, it’s to divide the country and weaken the masses for easier control. If we’re fighting amongst ourselves, we’re distracted from what government is doing to us. Taking more and more liberties from the citizens and they take more and more of our power. This is ultimately what government wants.

I am an Indian, and let me talk about the 2$ figure in India. In my village neighborhood, many people living in 4000 square feet mansions, according to Govt, are making less than $ 2$ per day. They all have assets worth millions of dollars, yet they do not inform Govt about their earning to avoid taxation and to continue getting tax subsidies. Indians have the tradition of living a simple life at the same time owning assets worth millions. I would say less than 1% of Indians earn 2$ per day. I own a farm, and here I struggle to get workers even when I offer 10$ per day. "850 million Indians living in poverty" is a lie, "1.4 billion Indians suffer from corruption and poor infrastructure" is a fact. Poverty is not the major problem in India, but lack of proper infrastructure, corruption, and pollution. ( 400 million Chinese living for less than 2$ is another huge comedy )

I think the argument is not to end world poverty, but to "help world poverty". That's the language used in the video. What else would be the argument for it from altruistic perspective? Plenty of selfish reasons to advocate for a skill/education based immigration, but I think some argue it alleviates poverty for those who are admitted, which is true, but it's just not a compelling argument if you look at poverty from a world wide scale

Hence , every addition of a million people will affect the lifestyle of 4-5 million people isn't it.😀 Second thing, all about the PPP model , India is way more chipper than the USA .😅

Reducing global poverty has never been the goal of the US immigration system. It has always served as an instrument to maintain US competitiveness internationally and boost the wealth of the elites. Perhaps the commoners in the US was misled into believing that it was eliminating poverty, but outside of the US, everyone is aware that the real purpose is to draw in top talent from around the globe. It implies that if the local American population is not competitive enough, they will eventually be replaced. Irreplaceable are just wealthy elites.

My opinion is that illegal immigrants deserve basic human rights, but should provide some kind of paid service, to compensate for the fact they moved in. Besides many of the underlying issues being blamed on immigrants are significantly more complex ,for example illegal immigrants are exploited for their vulnerabilities of being a non citizen for less pay.Along with these illegal immigrants, many criminals escape justice from other countries and land here , while also starting new crimes. So , although I agree with you that as a taxpayer why should you provide for someone, who creates problems but , taxpayer money is being wasted more on government programs having many cost overruns , and i think that one focus more on the huge sums of money and resources being wasted or inflated by a "greedy " corporate sector, than on the few cents or dollars of your tax money being taken advantage of by the government for providing basic human amenities

The point of immigration is either to increase the country population and get cheap workforce or import talent & business to become more competitive against other countries (basically, how UAE got Telegram which is one of the most popular messengers & hub for all cryptocurrency discussion, if you're curious USA lost that investment after Durov got mugged by some hobos there, literally) The analogy is flashy, sure, good spectacle, but it doesn't prove much. I remember this video from many years ago, and it’s influenced my perspective ever since. The biggest point he makes, and I don’t think he focuses on it enough, is that there’s a quitter’s paradox. It applies to everything, not just immigration. When you leave a job or agency or a country or a state, all based on the fact that you disagree with the way things are being managed , you hurt the potential for that place to improve. When the disenchanted leave, all that remains is the loyalist and the gullible and the weak. In time, the bad and corrupt will overwhelm that place and destroy it completely. You are the strong, you are the enlightened, and you are the motivated, and you want to see change. You are the white blood cell, in a body that is becoming sick. Don’t leave the body to die. Stay at your job or state or country or agency and fight back. Be the change you want to see in the world.

While staying back to help one's own country is admirable, people also have personal dreams of achieving financial success.
