I've actually done a bit of research on this a while back. This makes him only one of a few people in history to survive a confirmed swallowing by a whale. Usually, the person dies in the whales mouth before being ejected by being crushed to death as the whale filters the water for plankton, or they die within a day or two from crushed internal organs. He's lucky and has an amazing story now.

It IS, first this was a whale, not a fish. Second, no fish is big enough to swallow a man whole. Third, oxygen. There is NONE in a fishs stomach. Fourth, there IS acid though. Did jonah breathe that instead of oxygen? Finally, even if we grant god, who is supposed to be omniscient, cant tell the difference between fish and whales(possible since he thinks bats are birds and rabbits chew cud, the worst zoologist/biologist EVER) then the EXACT SAME arguments apply, save that in the VERY few cases like this, the whale NEVER swallows, its intelligent enough to recognize the foreign object in its mouth and spit it out first. @Bliksem You're incorrect on 2 counts. First, the Bible says that a "large fish" swallowed Jonah. Yes, it could have been a whale, but it's also possible it wasn't. Second, regardless of whether it was a whale or not, if God was orchestrating those events, obviously He could command the fish when to spit Jonah out (which He did), so there is no reason it would have necessarily spat him out as quick as this guy. You're leaving out large chunks of the biblical context in making your assertion. Have a good one.
