Elijah Wood is indeed a gem of an actor. I suggest watching him in Sin City. Frodo behaves a lot like an idiot in the books too. Gandalf wanted the ring to be kept by a Hobbit as he had noticed that they seemed somehow far more resistant against the influence of the ring than any other race. Still Frodo was rather chosen by Bilbo who took him in and made him his heir. After he inherited the ring Gandalf simply wanted the ring to stay with him as he fear if anybody else would take it, it would instantly corrupt the new bearer.

Well, he messed up with farmer Maggot long before he became the ring bearer. In may opinion he was kind of a spoiled brat. Also Sam took the ring in Minas Morgul and had no problem giving it back whatsoever, so he probably would have been the better ring bearer. Anyway Frodo did a good job dealing with his task. He showed some great wisdom and generosity, but he also had moments of foolish or selfish behavior and not all of those can be excused by him bearing the ring.

I think your claim is not quite correct. Wtf? Bilbo carried and occasionally used the ring for a period of about 60 years. For Smeagol it is not completely clear how much he resisted the ring, but he owned the ring for centuries. Frodo had the ring for only about 18 years. Considering his reaction to Bilbo in Elrond's house, he was influenced quite a bit also.

What if you throw in a Raven for the anti-armor missile. Seems like the reaper would benefit from it the most. With +1 atk upgrade, you get 75% dmg bonus versus +1 armor lings and 100% versus +1 armor queens. Seems like a great force multiplier if you are massing them.

@@damedley75 Definitely, but the idea would be if you have 20 reapers, which is about 1000 gas, a raven would make them worth 35-40 reapers damage wise for only 200 gas

On the reading thing, I think it's more books can have better more flushed out story's making them better then what you can get from a movie and this is mostly from just the amount of time. Generally a book is 20 plus hours of content (one normal paperback novel size) where a movie is 2-3 hours, shows are generally 10-12 hours over a season (plus with the added weirdness of needing beginning and endings for each episode). When you look at it that way it's makes it pretty amazing that people can make such great stories in movies that are so short. Books just have a massive advantage in the amount of content that is considered normal for the medium. Edit: basing the time for books on how long audio books for the book are as that translates a bit better to video medium, obviously how long it takes to read a book depends on the individual.

Frodo's strength lies in his tenacity and purity. He doesn't want the power that the ring offers, so he keeps himself from using it. Someone like Sam, that I think we can all respect, would want that power to perhaps defend Frodo. He'd use the ring and be corrupted by it. Ultimately, the Lord of the Rings is a story about the importance of having friends you can rely on when you're at your weakest.

The reason why Gandalf gave Frodo the ring is because Frodo was the only one not tempted by its power. The only one who didnt want the ring, he only used it when he was afraid, while Gandalf was tempted by it and so was Samwise. The reason Frodo left Samwise behind is this very reason. So Frodo always was the only choice and the right one :>

For the curious : Frodo is the "strongest" from the community because he is the only one who is almost unaffected by Sauron's power. Even Gandalf can't handle the ring without getting corrupted. Sam got it few minutes and was influenced while Boromir only need to see it to become influenced. Frodo is the MVP from the books. The movie don't show how worthy he is

new idead fpr beating grandmaster with stupid stuff: every time you research an upgrade , u needa do another one which is similar for example u want to reasearch bio dmg , so you need to research car and air dmg as well . same goes with armor . for for example stim just pick an other techlab upgrade on another building like for example burrow upgrade

Lord of the Rings is maybe the best adaptation of a book world ever made. You miss out on some details, but the scale down is great, the spirit is preserved, it is not dumbed down. So no critics from me. Why Frodo got the ring? 1. Gandalf did not want it, because the ring woul have corrupted him as anyone else. 2. Neither Gandalf nor Elrond wanted the ring to go any place other than distruction. Frodo had the ring. It chose him. Not the other way around.

This is an incredibly stupid idea, but hear me out. Colossus worker harassment. They can move up and down ramps just like reapers, and I believe they 2-shot workers with +1. If you rush a robotics bay you might be able to get a colossus out before your opponent takes his third, you just need to send it out while your opponent is attacking, so it doesn't get killed.

They actually just 2 shot workers, even without +1, and they do it in a area. It is the perfect unit for harassing your opponent's mineral lines.

Books are more detailed and leave you room to your imagination. Also, many of the best movies and games in history are based on books. I actually found 90% of books i read more entertaining than their movie counterparts. Only downside is that you gotta invest more time but for me it's worth it.

At 22:58 when he says “1-2-3-4-16” to distribute workers to mineral lines, he seems to deselect them individually for the first set of mineral patches, but for the second, he seems to automatically deselect 16 of them somehow. What did he do there??

so when he said 1234 16 he selected a group of idle workers and deselected the amount he wants at that base. then he sent the rest to the other base and then he actually presses the select all idle workers hotkey again and that selects a new group which he sends to the final base

Can be sketchy to hide the second racks in the main which is easier to scout, is it worth it to proxy the second outside the main like pros tend to do just to scare the protoss?

This isn't a standard proxy racks to throw the toss off, it's a second racks which is meant for mass reaper so proxy the second racks outside the main is less likely to be scouted as everything might seem normal unless they count SCVs. 2. Considering a standard game it wouldn't be obvious or considered but scouting for a second racks in the main might trigger the protoss to assume 3 racks which requires a bigger commitment to units earlier and henceforth be more prepared for an attack. 3. I haven't forgotten Harstem is a pro and often I praise him for his disruptor and oracle control because in serious games he seems to get more damage than most high level pros... To the point where people mention trap as a counterargument.

I really like harstem, but I gotta admit, in the second game i was rooting for elijah, simply because he just played too well for me to want him to lose to mass reaper.
