Good job! as always) those ultimate nihilistic shrooms looks alittle absurd - and at the same time logic. I'm wondering if maybe the Vultaum were perhaps influenced by the Whisperers in the Void. The neglecting of artificial intelligence and tendency for religious madness posits that they were a deeply spiritualist culture maybe even on the cusp of psionic awakening, and the Whisperers are known to reveal truths that the mortal mind cannot bear to know, and drive them to suicide.

Maybe I'm simply remembering wrong, but the Baol are one of the precursor empires and were destroyed by another empire, right? I don't remember, but does it say in the anomaly you mentioned about the dudes who became a death cult around the Grey Tempest were also Baol and I'm just blanking on that? I thought it happened to some minor no-name species. Either way, nice video. I love watching your stuff to pass the time at work. Also, it's really sad to think about the Vultaum so refused to kill themselves and were still around the remnants of their empire. Apparently it was a number too small to maintain or repopulate between their planets, so I guess they just... sat there, having to watch nearly their entire species kill themselves at once, see a lot of their most important infrastructure destroyed in antimatter bomb suicides, and then just live out the rest of their lives in the ruins, knowing their species is beyond saving.

Unfortunately, they chose exactly the wrong strategy. They should have bred like rabbits and engaged in xeno-compatibility instead. That would have crashed the simulation for sure.

Unless I missed you covering it, I believe it would be interesting to hear about the corrupt VIR astral rift. It contains mention of the Hunters, among other things. I didn’t listen to closely to what the broken VIR was saying so it would be nice having someone break it down. I have no idea whether it’s rare or not, but since I have only gotten it once, it must at least be substantially so
