Regarding the listening test: the other feedback we get that it isn't "properly" scientific. We know! This is the best we can do within the limits of time and budget. And even then it is tight. The Patreon support is really necessary if you like us to continue this way.

@@Dinkydau00 i use 2 ifi AC iPurifier for my hifi system with great success, and although I really like what the Isotek does in Alpha Audio‘s system (see the other video), but when I plugged it into the distributor of my hifi system it didn’t convince me (it was better without), and after it has spent several years in a tray I found it now useful if plugged in right next to my TV‘s power plug to tame it‘s SMPS, ie to reduce it‘s detrimental influence on my hifi system. Thinking about it, the ifi might work best if plugged in next to source or pre-amp, on your distributor, while the isotek, might be best to plug in next to the noisy source.

I did try the one from ifi, it really destroyed the sound, filtered the dynamic and detail. The one from isotek is actually very good in my system.

Have both Nordost and Furutech but it was so long ago I evaluated them. I have a feeling they are at the bottom of the happy list just using a couple of coils and in Furutech case their mysterious NCF material.

Hmmm am very curious! I like filter plugs and all the little adjustments for changing a system. Some worked for me and some didn't. Doesn't mean they would work for other peoples systems. Hence, conditions and setup are different.

IMO, cables are ALL filter networks, because they all have some degree of inductance and capacitance, which interacts with the rest of your system. Measuring a cable all by itself tells nothing. Also, anyone who believes that there isn't anything we can hear that can't be measured is living in a dream world. Any reputable scientist will tell you that there are things that we still don't know, in any area of scientific study, audio included. It's easy to believe in a dream world where everything is known and understood, because the unknown scares and confuses many people, but that's unrealistic, foolish, and childish. Scientists aren't afraid of the unknown. Quite the opposite, they relish it, and study it their entire lives. If everything were solved there would be no more research of any kind, and no new discoveries of any kind. And if scientists and researchers believed that we already know everything, we'd still be living without a lot of the things we now take for granted. Your smartphone has more computing power than the computers that put men on the moon!

My test is by ear. If there is a "obvious" performance improvement heard, I use it. Otherwise the filter is useless for me.

You gonna prise Amir from ASR more and you gonna loose my respect. That guy is freaking ignorant, period! All he is doing is measuring and thinking he will have all conclusions in the world from that measuring. He is HUGE anti-cabling guy and he dont even listen, just measure and he knows anything from that. He's flawless cause he have a osciloscop. With that logic im gonna buy me a pair of running shoes, and I'm gonna be Usain Bolt, right? He should measure level of his ignorance... gonna reach out of scale...

I understand your point of view. We measure AND listen and try to connect the dots. That my way of working.

@@TheAlphaAudio With the current SOTA in test equipment, our ears can "measure" things that test instruments still are incapable of. If that weren't true, then all SOTA cost no object amps and speakers (and DACs, cables, etc.) would all sound the same, which is clearly not the case

You would think if they do work, why do manufactures of Amplifier, cd, networking etc, not put them into the their equipment . You don't see them advertising you need this filter to improve quality . My point been there should be information available, because otherwise your just taking someone's word on it . Touching subject for sure .

I prefer the subjective tests you make using your ears. Regarding measurements, i don't disagree with what you say but coming from a technical background, I believe we are not measuring all the right things yet.
