If you have the opportunity to see any British military band, don't miss them. Fantastic. Here's a salute from a Canadian to all British military bands. Gentlemen and ladies, a "tip of the hat." You can be very proud. Thank you.

thank you toy man. as a Brit, i must admit we do take them for granted sometimes. until we go to London and see them there, then i do feel proper chuffed.

Without folks like you many people would not be able to see and enjoy parades like this, the TV companies just aren't interested. Many thanks and well done, superb.

It's all copyright issues preventing broadcasts of bands. Pretty sticky issue, really, as some copyright holders would be OK with it while others come in with guns blazing asking where their money is. I'm not happy about it, either, but it did deserve at least a short explanation.

john beckhouse it's the first time I have heard the pipers drowned out in 79th farewell! that's military music at its finest.

Reminds me of my time playing the base drum in our primary school marching band. In those far off days of the 1950s most schools had a band. The Imperial glory was fading but most Australians were still proud to be part of the Empire..

It's the 75th Anniversary of Arnhem this year, the massed Guards bands should be there a perfect tribute to the last of the veterans that can still make the journey.

Thank you so much, the main stream media (Including the BBC) treat British tradition and ceremony like the plague, so your contributions are most appreciated.

A slight exageration, I would say, Chris, since the coverage IS there I believe (even of Beating Retreat). But they do dumb down, ask silly questions, talk too much and bend over backwards to ensure "relevance" and no "triggering". With a film like the above, it's pure - is as it is. Which is just ... wonderful. And my question to you, where does the love and joy that suffuses the music come from? This is military music, theoretically associated with war, killing and death, and yet... When the Russian Massed Bands play in Red Square, there is spectacle and pomp, but precious little joy, as we can imagine given what we see now. But our lads (and lasses) inject something extra into it.

The massed bands were excellent, as usual. They played three complete marches before entering the parade ground and only a very small number of spectators present along the way. Where was everyone?

Ah those bones ,lovely bone sound, especially the bass bone giving the beat😁😁.Miss doing parades with my Waterloo Region Police Band. In 🇨🇦. Every thing is still on hold due to this COVID-19 pandemic.Just a little tim bit to people in you tube world,my police police ban that I belong to is the only band that is brass and reed style in Canada 🇨🇦 no agony bags( bagpipes) that is connected to police services.

I think i may be correct but isn't it the 75th Anniversary of Operation Market Garden next September 2019 ? I would hope our so called politicians remember that and put in a major effort for those veterans that are still able to make the journey.....the massed guards band would certainly be a superb addition to that Anniversary.

Is it me, or does it seem like the second trombonest from the far left is just a millisecond out of step? Uts pretty much all I could focus on to see if he was lol. But great music overall. I love listening to and playing wellington march with my band.
