Thanks for the good info & video. Much better than the sales folks- except one that I ran into who told me about the stops being able to be adjusted for the steering. I asked a couple others who didn't know what I was talking about.
@DLHFarms5 жыл бұрын
Yep a lot of tractors have those stops. I have heard many people complain about the steering angle of thier tractor when really all they need to do is adjust it correctly.

Looks & sounds like Massey did a good job to meet most of an operator's needs & preferences. Thanks for posting a review & your opinion on the tractor. It always seems better to get information from an operator over a salesperson when it comes to most equipment used out there. Stay safe.
@DLHFarms7 жыл бұрын
+crslyrn. True, most of the time a salesman don't care about anything but to get the sell, they will build it up like it the best thing ever, they never tell you the negatives.

I really appreciate you taking time to review this tractor in detail. I just wanted to clarify a few points as I'm thinking if buying one. I have an mf 5455 (4cylinder dyna 4) and I dislike that I have to constantly change ranges. Also the lowest gear is too fast for hedgecutting . I was wondering if this transmission is very slow in the lowest gear . Also is the lowest gear in the high range, low geared enough so that you could take of from a standing stop with a reasonable load on a hill for example. As I find that I always have to go into medium range to take off on a hill with a load with my Massey but not my valtra as the valtra is lowered geared in the high range . Thank you very much
@DLHFarms6 жыл бұрын
+AgriSpec. I wish I could give you an honest answer for your questions but I only ran the tractor for one day and didn't test the speeds of the transmission. It's been quite a while ago since I done this review and I don't remember much about the transmission. I do know that I liked the tractor pretty well but probably wouldn't buy one because it's only a 12 speed and I need a 16 or 24 speed. One thing I do remember is that there are only two ranges High and low then there are 6 gears in each range which would mean there should be less range changing.

@squidgymop16 жыл бұрын
If you lift the rubber boot up under the joystick there is an adjustment to bring the joystick further towards or further away from the operator. In my onpinion the only downside of this tractor is you cannot get it with powershift dyna 4 or dyna 6 transmission if you want tha you have to get 5700 series tractors

I have watched many of your videos on KZbin and find them very well done and educational. I write you because I am very interested in the MF 4710. I own a 72-acre cattle and poultry farm in east Alabama. I am also considering the JD 5100e as well as the Kubota MX5-111. Did you consider these tractors before purchasing the 4710? Do you regret the purchase in any way? If so, what 100HP tractor do you wish you would have purchased? Thanks for all the great videos, keep it up.
@DLHFarms3 жыл бұрын
I did consider the Kubota M5 and the 5100M I refuse to own an E series Deere, to many horror stories, I went with the 4710 because of the dealer at the time and it had the best value. I don’t regret it at all I love my 4710.

Would you buy this tractor or a T4 75? I am currently looking for a 75 hp tractor to add to the fleet. Interested in T4 .75 and MF series 4700 series and also kubota 7060. Question is have you had any problems with NH emissions?
@DLHFarms7 жыл бұрын
+Georgia Swampman. They are both good tractors, I think they are both going to be reliable Tractors, I had a T4.115 that I liked for the most part. I know the engine and transmission are solid in the T4. That being said since I've had a T4 I would probably give this Massey a try mainly because it's sold by the same dealer I buy my blue from and that is what is most important to me is the dealer support, even though I work on my own equipment once it's out of warranty, with all the computers and electronics I have to have info and diagrams and so on and I know my dealer will provide anything I need. My suggestion would be to go try each one, demo them if you can see which one fits you better, then consider the dealer and their reputation with providing support if you do have a problem, because with either one you will most likely have a few small problems. As far as emissions I have never had an emission problem with the T4 or the T5.
@DLHFarms7 жыл бұрын
+Georgia Swampman. Oh and as far as the 7060 it's not even in the same category as the T4 or the 4700 as far as comfort goes in my opinion and my kubota dealer sucks so they are out for me.

Does not all tractor brands have a freewheel on the pto ? I can turn the pto shaft by hand if the engine is running and the pto is not in neutral .
@deutz4507 жыл бұрын
Many tractors have a pto brake so you can not turn the pto shaft while the engine is running. I don´t like this feature.
@DLHFarms7 жыл бұрын
+jacky bruckers. Most all tractors that have a hydraulic engaged PTO also have a hydraulic PTO brake. On my T5 there is a button on the fender that you can press that will slightly turn the PTO so you can align the splines.

Can definitely see improvements from the 4600 series... making me curious on what the 7700 series improved on. I think the next step for transmissions would be the Dyna-4, which are very nice but probably looking at AT LEAST $15,000 more for the tractor. I'm not sure if the 4700 series offers the Dyna transmissions, might have to go to the 5700.
@DLHFarms7 жыл бұрын
+Farming 4 Generations. I'm pretty sure the dyna 4 is on the 5700 and up only, would be a nice option for a smaller Tractor like the 4700 it would make me way more interested in the 4700.
@ArnieD176 жыл бұрын
In Europe the 5700 Dyna-4 is offered with a 3-cyl and 4-cyl engines. The US/Canada site does not list a 5700 Dyna-4 tractor as being available.
@DLHFarms6 жыл бұрын
The 5700 is available here in the US, there are a few dealers that have them, but not sure if you can still get the 3 cylinder, you could in the 5600 series.
@ArnieD176 жыл бұрын
Not referring to the 5700 global but the 5700 dyna-4 global. Bit more than a 5700 global being offered with a Dyna-4. It is being sold as a separate model. In Europe they are selling 4 global models; 4700, 5700, 5700 Dyna-4, and 6700. Go to the UK site for more info.
