Got some hay baled today, but it was too humid out for most of the day. They started bio solids spreading on some of my hay land from the mill today. Had to move some bales out of the way yesterday. Gotta get after moving a big field later this week. But it’s free fertilizer that gets worked in so we’ll get things ready for them.

Evening, Ed! That hydraulic cylinder for the pickup reel, it's crazy how the old baler is the way it should be and they screwed the pooch so bad on the newer baler. They already learned that lesson but somebody obviously forgot how to engineer things. Man twine really adds up when you are going through that much. I'm glad I don't use that much. Blakely is looking stylish!!! Hope you have a good Tuesday as well! Take care, Ed
@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin2 ай бұрын
@@evanaustin2636 good evening Evan. Ya, I might see if I can modify it, they might have done it that way, for clearance on models with the crop cutter, as it sits right there too. But engineers aren't quite as bright as they used to be sometimes.. Take care and thank you!

Crazy what twine costs now. Getting the baler off the ground is less than fun, I broke an axle shaft a couple of years ago. At least the needles aren't solid cast, I'd hate to know the price and weight then.🍻🍻

@@pinesedgefarm1155 good morning Erik ☕ ☕ ☕ kinda like fuel 🙄 I remember when dad would call around for 9600' (small baler twine) And 10,000 (round baler twine).. we bought it by the pallet back then, $10 vs $12 a box, made a big difference by the pallet.. How many bales you get out of a ball? I get about 30 out of a bale of two balls of that 16,000. Probably a little more than that because got sick of buying twine so I don't put as much on anymore. Last i give was $55 for two balls. I realize its different twine than you use but still fun to compare.
@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin2 ай бұрын
@@AgWildNebraska an 8' long bale should be 27-28 bales per ball.. The 6' we've been making, should be 33.. and the new baler holds 30 balls.. old one holds 24.

@@AgWildNebraska last couple of years we had issues. Electrical component, and hydraulic tension issues.. finished up last year by running the remote that controls the tension, manually. Pretty sketchy, as pressure changes so fast.. and over pressure can literally blow the baler up.
