Massey Ferguson combines from the past

A brief tale of my combine experience as a youngster and what we use today.

The 300 had a 30 inch cylinder width. The 410 had a 37 inch wide cylinder...the same as the super 92 and the 90 special. the 510 had a 45 inch wide cylinder. When Massey changed to the 700 series, the last two digits of the number represented the cylinder width of each model.

The combines your talking about MF made a 205, 300, 410, and 510 starting in 1964. The 205 and 300 had Chrysler gas engines and could be ordered with Perkins diesel engines. The 410 and 510 had GM gas engines and could be ordered with Perkins diesel engines. The last of the 205 where built in 1970 the 300 where built to 1972. The last of the 410 and 510 where built in 1977, they where replaced by the 540 and 550.
