I grew up on a large dairy farm near Belleville, Ontario, Canada. My Dad loved Massey-Ferguson tractors and equipment, we owned the MF65 back in the 60's, then the MF180, the MF1080, MF1105, MF3165, the MF300 Combine and later the MF540 Combine, along with various other machinery like Massey-Ferguson ploughs, hay rakes, and forage equipment such as Gheil forage harvesters; we also had a MF50 which we had a set of half tracks for use in the winter (when we still had alot of snow), and a table saw mounted on the 3-point hitch. Sadly the Combine manufacturing plant shown here, located in Brampton, was closed many, many years ago.

I’ve always liked the 60s and 70s Massey Ferguson’s. I taught myself on a 1965 Massey Ferguson 50C backhoe. This video is back when employees actually cared about theirs work and how their part of the job was done

This video is great! I grew up with a 1975 MF 285 and a 1987 MF 250 (plus some others) on my grandpop's beef cattle & fruit farm. We put many hours on our MF's. They were great machines. Around 1997, we sold our MF 285 to purchase a newer tractor. Around 2002, the MF 250 (Pop's favorite tractor) burned in a barn fire. I wanted to rebuild the 250, but Pop said no. Around 2008, I purchased my own MF 285 w/ 246 loader. Pop passed in 2010. I'll own a MF 250 also one day. Miss & love you Pop. ;*- )

What an awful combine. Ran 860 for a custom harvester, they arrived in May brand new, we're constantly broke down all the way to Canada and by September we're traded off, we're pretty much junk by then. Did a great job as far as clean and saving grain but we're far to lightly built and not reliable

Here in europe FERMEC(French) took over the construction side of MF and made great machines, and they themselves were then subsequently bought over by TEREX who just did a paint job(yellow to white)on them, but still great machines. I have a MF565 Multipower tractor which is super reliable - had it for years too. It's a shame about corporate canabalisation of companies!

Great vid 👍if know MF history in Australia it very interesting. H.V. McKay brought Taylor out then MF brought them out, they produced combine. In early 70’s they tested Australian version 542 with Taylor design interns n told Pa that new combine will have them 3342. Well Pa brought combine before release it didn’t come with Taylor design but MH design from America let say Pa wasn’t happy but he modified to get best out of it. I like combine but glad pa didn’t buy 760 or 860 as they were big combines but poorly manufactured and parts were hard get in 80’s after disappear. Pa swore he never MF but maybe buy Gleaner or International. Those MF tractors are big lumps of shits and recall on them were high with problems That CEO knew problems and MF running out of money with out dated design tractors.

Massey Ferguson Management team in the UK were a disaster of a bunch when it came to machine warranty, so much so I congratulated them for being the best salesmen for John Deere by buying 2 new JD 3350s tractors in the late 80s The UK market for MF fell to bits because of this. poor customer care even today in 2022 would not have one on this farm.

@1:24 - I saw that dozer and said “Hanomag”. Ran one just like it that was re-badged as a Terex. They called it a D600 and all their literature compared it to a D6 Cat. Some sleight of hand was involved though cause it had a 140 horse motor and D7 undercarriage. Whatevs. Tracks were like new cause the owner couldn’t keep it out of the shop. Sold it for 5000 dollars. Good riddance. 💣💸
