Part 1 of transitioning the 3000 gallon Amazon aquarium to the new Predator Bay 3000 marine predator tank. With my Bamboo Sharks reaching adult size and with the desire to add some other large marine predators, it is time to get their new 3000 gallon aquarium up and running.
We also check in on the 4500 gallon Xingu River Aquarium, the mini-monster grow outs and of course the two new Annex builds! Tons going on in the fish basement, so don't miss an episode!

You might just create one of the most interesting (and lucrative) private aquariums ever seen. I bet you could charge a small fortune for people to come and snorkel the 4500 for an hour. I might be one of them ;)

WOW!!!!! You're killing it Jeremy. Great video as always, liked the fact that you brought up everyone's concerns on the 2 center tanks. I've been reading the comments and I see that one option is to make them higher and also cut off the corners. Obviously this is your room and you have final word, but let me throw another option at you. What if you went the opposite direction and made two lowboy tanks about 2 ft tall that were open tops for stingrays or something else. Thus getting two bodies of water but keeping the center section of the room wide open. Very impressed with your subscriber count, you definitely got your foot on the pedal!!!! I need to pick up my game.. LOL

Hey Joe! Yeah since the video I have done some more measuring and it looks like the sweet spot is to cut off some of the width like I mentioned in the video and increase the height. Looking like they will be 1200 gallons each now and the middle viewing spot will have perfect view of the 4500 and it will be easier to film the 4500 this way as well. And YES you need to get more videos out...you have a ton of open ended projects my friend....and I still don't know when the grand opening of your Mexican grocery store is 😁😁😁

@@AquariumDomain. I thought it was weird they didn’t have red fins like mine. I thought maybe they were a species I hadn’t seen before. Regardless, surprise breedings let you know you are doing something right. I just discovered some baby rainbows in my 75 gallon. I just had them in there 4 weeks as it’s my quarantine tank. I had a bichir in there with them for 2 weeks while he was for sale and then some red tailed sharks. None of them messed with the babies. At any rate I love your videos keep em coming. I am also glad you addressed the viewing angles on the 4500. I was wondering how those new builds would affect the view. Glad you took some of your viewers advice. Good job! I think a it'd be cool if you set up a static camera when you're doing the scape for Predator Bay 3000 and do like sped up, almost time lapse montage and play music over it and maybe narrate a little. Not that I'm trying to give you more work. Lord knows you have enough as it is! You do a great job explaining the process and ideas but I think it'd be cool to see a portion of the process too rather than just cut back and it's done. Might be difficult to get good angles though and then there's the extra time to set up and editing and possible equipment limitations, so I get it if you don't. I just like seeing the process of projects people do as well as the before and after. Can't wait to see how it turns out though, man! I know it'll be epic!

Very cool. Love the updates. I've not paid too much mind to the saltwater stuff. What sharks do you have? Do you have the freshwater equivalent catfish type of sharks or the surface cruisers? I saw at least one bopping around the bottom behind you in the closing segment, but from the way you talk, it sounds like you already have multiple types.

As I've said over and over and over again the 4500 is so beautiful dude. By shrinking the tanks down you actually save on plywood and other lumber by doing them 4 ft wide. I need this in my basement, but i dont have b*lls to do it so I'll live vicariously through you. 👍👍 have you gave anymore thought on 2 viewing panels on the 1500 gallons?
@AquariumDomain.
@AquariumDomain. 8 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yeah, 4 x 10 works out really well materials wise, also I have increased the height a bit so I am still going to get 1200 gallons out of each tank...plenty for the fish I want to keep in them. 😁 I am leaning towards one viewing panel so that I can do more with the aquascape and not have the eye wonder to the 4500 gallon behind them 😁😁

20 minutes in when you're looking at your 4500 your power head is just floating around in there going in all directions kind of funny LOL... I have a powerhead in my jellycat tank that's hooked up to the light switch and when I kick the lights on it kicks off the sidewall and spins around in circles sometimes it reminds me of that. L075 Para Pleco (Peckoltia sabaji) I only know this because I have one that's identical L075 para.. I also have the leopard cactus plecos and they have a distinctive red tail L114. Can't wait to see the sharks and predator bay.. you should add big porcupine puffer maybe..

Clean up crew fish to eat leftover foods on the substrate and water flow to keep debris suspended in the water column where it can get picked up by the pumps and sent to the wetland filter. 😁

What is the Predator Bay maintenance like? Do you buy salt for water changes regularly?
@AquariumDomain.
@AquariumDomain. 8 ай бұрын
With all of my tanks I try to run them close to ecosystems as possible, meaning I want the system to perform the entire nitrogen cycle, including breaking down the nitrate. The current predator bay has a 33 foot long runway style sump with huge areas of ceramic material, low oxygen and no light that allows for denitryfing bacteria to live in large quantities and breakdown nitrate. It has worked really well as predator bay has had 1 partial water change in 3 years and it of course house really big fish who eat a lot of food, so it has been very successful. I will be replicating this in predator bay 3000 but also adding a better settling chamber setup and a refugium. 😊

I have never kept them before, but I would imagine in the right size tank they could coexist with a lot different fish species. I usually see them in a 150 to 220 size tank and in that small of space as an adult they kill pretty much everything.

I have a 90 gallon community tank with some congo tetras, gold barbs, bosemani rainbowfish and 2 bristlenose catfish with lots of plants. From what Ive been told, for planted aquariums you are not supposed to vacuum up the substrate b/c it is rich in nutrients for the plants.
