I like the fact that two water cannons with different orientations work on the articulated mast platforms... I have never seen that in Europe... Personally, I have long been of the opinion that at least three such water cannons should be installed as standard on turntable ladder baskets and articulated mast platforms... This would make it much easier in the future to extinguish fires from above and to achieve faster results... Thanks for this video... Greetings to everyone... a retired firefighter

Why are they pouring water on the outside of the building instead of into the building?Also why in the hell was that so called fireman with hose hose on the ground just standing there looking dumbfounded instead attacking the fire with water?

Since the building is lost and will probably be a parking lot in the near future, they are protecting the exposures from the heat.

There has been multiple fires at this location before. There was obvious structural concerns. They were interior at first when they realize the fire was winning they went to defensive to protect the firefighters from any interior structural collapses. So they attacked the fire from outside.

I just did a search; this is a boarded up building in Windsor Ontario, Canada. Withing sight of Detroit, Michigan. Google Maps clearly show the state of the building. There is nothing much near it except a building on the C side. It's probably not worth saving so we see an effort to protect the other building. I dont know why people are saying there's no water being applied from above since we see the opposite. I sure would not want to go inside with the level of fire we can see. My best guess is that they let it burn down under control.
@timmorin695 ай бұрын
The building was under renovation and the owner was just on local radio a couple days earlier saying it was being renovated into a "Boutique Hotel". My guess is the owner was probably from out of town and when he went to see how the project was coming along and spent some time in the area he realize this entire project was probably a big mistake. This is a crack and meth head infested area and the homeless center is less than a block away. No one in their right mind would go spend big money to stay at this "boutique hotel" in a terrible area and have their cars broken into while they stay there or be harassed by homeless people if they decided to go for a walk and explore the near by river front. I think he probably had it torched to collect insurance and cut his losses. The saddest part is i grew up in the neighborhood in the 90's and it was a great area where you felt safe walking the streets, and most homes and yards were very well kept. Sadly that is not the case anymore.

Too many unknowns. What was the size and location of the fire when the first crews arrived? Could it have been fought and contained with an interior attack using hand lines? Look's like the fire is confined to the third floor and has burned through the roof. By going defensive, they have giving up on the building. I did see exposure protection on the delta side with the tower, which is good. I would have liked to see what it looked like when when the first units got there.
