I am such a nerd when it comes to vintage too!! I love finding vintage !! Last week I found a 1950-1960’s faux fur cape!!! It’s a black cape with satin lining !!! The fur is very short - almost like beaver fur. $12.99 Condition is 8-9 out of 10. No clue what I am going to do with it!! But like you- I couldn’t leave it there!!!! A relative gave my sister and I hand made silk nightgowns from the 1930’s. Think Carole Lombard. They are GORGEOUS!!! The buttons on the robe are hand made out of silk and TINY!!

OOOOOOOoooooohhhh How long is the cape? I mean, WEAR IT. The holidays are coming up, so what could be more festive than a vintage fur cape? I've got a vintage high collar short fur cape that I thrifted many moons ago that I keep on hand for such occasions, because why not?! ...and oh my, the nightgowns... what absolute treasures. Made to be worn while swanning about...❤️❤️❤️❤️

@@JMSquaredVintage the cape is mid thigh?? I hope it gets cold enough to wear it!! Doesn’t get cold often wear I live and coats are my favorite!!! The silk gowns are very small!!! Too small for me lol I think that’s why they have held up so well - never worn.

Michigan is 1.29 a pound as well but the selection is nothing like you have. Soft Surroundings is only closing stores. They will still have a website and have been acquired by Coldwater Creek I believe

Oh thank goodness! And yes, I think you’ll find real gems everywhere, but you’ll just have to dig longer. I’m sure you’ll find tons of Carhartt and other great cold weather gear there, which is every bit as good (if not better TBH) than anything I find!

I'm looking for a job right now, and see a listing for their store here. Maybe Coldwater kept it open due to good profit making.

Hey Julia! Great video! Just a heads up, gymshark sometimes puts their size/fabric tags on the inside of the ankle on their leggings, so you may find the info there. 😊

Nothing to be found on these, but thanks for the tip! In a million years, I wouldn't have looked there!

Dang!! starting the gate with freebirds 😮❤️ Great finds!!!! $1.29 is a dream! I am on bins restriction 🤣 Going through 13 mystery bags that was given to me first! Thanks for the videos!! ~jc

RIGHT?! The shame of it was that there was a second pair that I saw just as someone's hands closed around them. I'm DYING to try some mystery boxes, but i need some more storage space if I'm going to do it - hope you have some gems in there!

Yes it's $2.49 lb in Houston but most of the cashiers will tell you to take out the ties/scarves/hats for misc. which goes for $1.79 so that helps even things out. I by alot of ties which average out to about 10 cents!
@JMSquaredVintage Жыл бұрын
OOoooooohhhh! Now, THAT’s a steal! Do the ties do well for you? There was a HUGE pile of them this morning when I was shopping, and I grabbed one to test them out (spoilers for my next haul!!!), so interested to see how it does!

@JMSquaredVintage I've been a vintage dealer and reseller for 20yrs and just started on ties for a strategy of small item that packs a punch for profit. I am averaging $20 a tie. They move slow but I'm ok with that.

Hopefully you thought to put "quiet luxury" in the Rus sweater dress listing. You didn't mention fabric content on the Drumohr sweater, but looks like possibly cashmere/silk blend? Anyway, I went to their web page had the price translated to dollars. I found a sweater that looks like yours for $598.00!!! Crazy to think they've been around since 1770, and I don't think I've ever found it.

I did! Isn't it flipping fabulous? Such a shame with that Drumohr sweater - It was cotton/silk (felt a bit more like lightweight cotton than silk) but once I got to photographing it and getting it in some good light, there were some faint, but large stains that neither I nor my trusted dry cleaner could get out - I just couldn't sell it. But i don't consider that a loss - now we know about another incredible brand, and it's another label to keep our eyes out for! Insane company history on them, right?

Hi Julia! I love your channel and all of the amazing thrifted treasures you find! I live in south Jersey outside of Philly and I was curious which bins you went to in the Philly area???
@JMSquaredVintage Жыл бұрын
Well hello, fellow Courier-Poster! Thanks for the kind words!! We went to the ones over in Bellmawr. I tend to prefer the ones on the PA side, but schedules were tight. If you’re ever up to a bit of a drive, I have found some INSANE stuff up in the Hackensack location. Lots of money up there = gooooooood thrifting!
@kathyarnauer2831 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip! A friend of mine in north Jersey always finds tons of stuff at the Hackensack bins! I actually haven’t tried going to a goodwill outlet store bc I’m a little intimidated, but I’m also super curious. Videos like yours make want to go!
@JMSquaredVintage Жыл бұрын
It can be intimidating, for sure! But I swear, it’s not as scary as it seems. Just go, and don’t hesitate to ask the employees how it works at that particular location, and just kind of dig in…when it comes to table/bin changes, the first one or two, hang back and watch what the regulars do. You’ll pick it up in no time flat! And seriously, if it’s NOT for you, keep your eyes out for dollar days at your normal goodwill stores. It’ll be more crowded for sure, but if the chaos of the bins isn’t your particular flavor, it’s another great way to find some incredible deals!
