Nice haul overall. I'm with you as I like projects and actually working on things. Its a great way to get to know a different systems. Look forward to some follow ups on these and see what you do with them. All the best.

Thank you sir and thanks for watching! I couldn't agree more that's definitely how you get to know different firearms better. Yeah, my projects are piling up, thats for sure, lol.

It's always fun to clean up a SKS. Got to love the chrome lined bores! They are a great shooter. My friend bought one as a deer rifle and has hunted with it for about 30 years as is out of the box. The days of getting one at the gun show for $79 are long gone, but I don't think you did too bad with those.

Yes sir. I do love tinkering with them. Growing up, I know a lot of people that used them to hunt deer. Yep, sadly, those days of the cheaps SKSs are long gone.

Was always tempted to order from Hunter's Lodge ever since I opened my shop in the mid 90s. But everything I ever saw from them was is pretty beat up condition. I prefer better condition guns for myself & the shop.

That marking on Chinese stock are Hindi numbers used in Arabic countries. Its simply "81" as an Arab would write it. Usually PLO or Egyptian. Could be Israeli capture 🎉

Wow very cool! I didn't know that, I just haven't had the time to research it yet, I think @Triangle26 recently did a video on an Israeli capture rifle...🤔 Thanks for sharing!

I thought triangle was Iraq. And 81 numeral could be any Arabic or Farsi speaking country (latter would be primarily Iran or Afghanistan).

Did you pay $300 or $200 for the Chinese SKS? I understood $300 at 19.45 but then you had $200 up on the screen at the end of the video at 22:03.

My main concern is the shipping cost tbh, I did a similar batch a couple years ago, and the shipping was a significant proportion of the cost of the guns.

Thank you very much! I can't blame you there, I can definitely stomach $300 better than $600+, that's for sure....sure miss the days of cheap and plentiful SKSs.

The SKS lost it's luster when you couldn't get them for $69.95 anymore. Same for AKM's for + $300-$400, or 7.62x39mm for + a nickel a round. Those days are long gone.

👍...Good score. I also like getting them with some historical wear & tear showing on them, provided the price likewise is reasonable & matches the condition. Is always fun to then do the research & general tidy up work.

hi the Izhevsk mark has an arrow that looks like an arrow you would use in a bow and the Romanian arrow looks like one you would find on a road sign, if that is any help , i love a project gun much more than a mint factory condition, i enjoy the process of bringing them back to life , enjoy your projects best wishes from the uk chris

Good points, thanks for the insight as always, yeah, I really need @Triangle26 to help me with the Romanian one...I'm really unsure how much of a mix it is. But, like you, I love project guns. Thank you for watching sir! I'll do a follow-up of it disassembled, I've honestly not had the time year to tear them down to see the condition under the wood.

11:37 Romanian guy has just entered the room. Sorry I’m late to the show. Nobody sent me a memo and this part 3 just showed up in my feed. So that’s where we’re at now. I just subscribed, and will keep up with your sks stuff. That’s not an Izhevsk. Logo looks similar to it, but izhevsk is in Russia. That Romanian is made at the Cugir Arms Factory in Cugir, Romania. I will never expect you to ever be able to pronounce it correctly, I promise. The only non-Romanian person on KZbin who can say it correctly is Triangle /26\ and he is my homie as well. He also knows about my predicament and lust for a solid example just like yours. But im Upstate New York and since September 2022, we are now legally required to obtain a special license to buy any more semiautomatic centerfire and/or rimfire rifles (they forgot to include shotguns in the law 😂 ). So whatever we got prior to the law is grandfathered in, but we are not allowed to get more. The license cost, process, and wait time are more complicated than a handgun permit. And here’s a loophole: if and when I do decide to get my handgun permit, my county judge can also attach the semiautomatic rifle license to it without making me get it separately. Gotta love it. Fortunately I did get a /26\ years prior (to the law, but purely for nationalist reasons, being a Romanian/American I feel it would be cool to have one too (I was born there, otherwise i’d say American first).

Forgot to congratulate you on your haul and the Romanian variant. You did great at 300. They were only made for 4 years and production numbers were super tiny. I hear as high as 500,000 tops.

🤣 very cool! I'm just happy youtube hasn't completely suppressed my channel lol. I love having others with different roots comment on my finds, I appreciate the perspective everyone brings to the conversation. I have a few UK subscribers that always give me great history lessons on my British guns. That's terrible that NY has become so liberal towards firearm ownership. You have my sympathy. I live in the southeast US, so it's very free here, which I love. Any insight you can offer into my Romanian SKS is much appreciated as I honestly don't know much on that variant. Stay tuned, I shot another video today breaking both SKSs down looking a little closer at them to see how much is matching on each.info! It gets out of youtube jail, I'll post it. I suspect my Romanian one has some non-Romanian parts, but another set of eyes is welcome as always. If you're into Romanian AK kits check out some of my older videos, I think I have like 4 or 5 Romanian kits, some are super nice. Thank you very much for subscribing!

It's very hard to get James in the phone, It has actually taken me up to 2 weeks in the past of calling daily until I've gotten in touch with him. I know they don't allow walk-ins, I asked this question in the past lol. As a matter of fact, I was in the area a couple of years ago and decided to drive by the place. The entire place has a chain linked fence around it.

I've always heard that Hunter's Lodge was a scam, "jip artist" kind of place. Is this not correct? Their physical location is only about 40 miles from me, but I'm told they don't allow you to come by and pick up a purchase. I've never messed with them because of the river of bad comments and bad publicity out on the interwebs about them.

So if you're curious, check out the videos I've done as well as @thewolfhunter and @RUSTYSURPLUS. We've all ordered from HL and we were not sponsored by them. Understand that nearly anything you get will need some fixing up in some form or fashion. The firearms wont win any beauty contests. So if you like fixeruppers, then it might be something for you. It is true they are specifically mail order only.

@@The_Casual_Collector I've always wanted to order from them, (especially one of their MKIII Enfields), but have just been wary because of all the bad press. I think I'll push the button and give them a shot, what's the worst that could happen?
@The_Casual_Collector
@The_Casual_Collector 8 ай бұрын
@cleophusA true, I'm not trying to sway anyone either way. I just try to share my experiences with others so they can make informed decisions. It is true others have had bad experiences, but I also don't know all the details surrounding those experiences. Of course as always I only deal exclusively with James and only place an order after talking with him directly to verify the general condition of an item, if it is in stock, the cost, and the total shipping

I'd guess there is always someone to say this but I remember being in my early teen's & going to Roses department store where I first laid eyes on the Chinese SKS. They were $89 or $95 a pop with chest rig, cleaning kit in the buttstock & oil bottle. Saw them years later at a show in crates (10 to each as I recall) for about as cheap. Its amazing what they go for now but that's the nature of the beast...

Still wishing they take credit cards. In the world, are you buying some of this stuff not advertised it which it is in the last day at here.But are you asking games for certain items? I often w9nder if theyre making much money? Lots of oeoome steer clear from HL at all cost. I love the roll of te dice.. that stock gas been to Egypt or Iraq. Triangle 1 is Romanian. It's a triangle 1, not triangle arrow. That's a beech Ronanian stock. You'll have a hard time replacing it with oem one. I'd buy the Romanian just because you say it's a 58. I've got two 70 a few serial numbers apart. These bores are chrome lied so they will be great. I'm in KY, where you located? HL would do a lot better if they'd do a website that people could order off of.
@The_Casual_Collector
@The_Casual_Collector 8 ай бұрын
I understand that. So most of how I find these are usually conversations with James asking him, what new items have they gotten in or found stashed away in the warehouse. Yeah, finding original Romanian sks part will be tough. I'm located in the SE US
