Haha, thanks man! Yeah, they've been really good to us and in return we're doing our best to keep that content coming. It was a hard call to say this is a 9.5/10 jet knowing they'd sent it to us, but we really had to dig hard into it to find anything that wasn't good. The wheels are the only point on the jet that we felt needed addressed, and for $20 we picked up the Du-Bro low bounce upgrade and it's turned it into one of the most enjoyable jets to land. Compared to V1, everything about this jet is stellar. Just wish V1 was what V2 is.
@jlester422 жыл бұрын
Thanks for video. Good ideas as always. Started the wheel mod, and the axle of the right main snapped off at the threads. And yes I knew this side would have reverse threads, but it snapped none the less. Left main and nose mod went fine without issues. FYI Node axle is also reverse threads. This should be obvious since the wheel rotates CCW, the axle should tighten going CCW.
@TwoBrosRC2 жыл бұрын
That's unfortunate to hear, Jim. You should be able to thread another axle on it. Just be careful since this jet does come from an era where the metal alloys FMS used weren't the best ones.

Greetings Jon. Your coverage of this model (my next plane I think) is the most comprehensive I can find. FMS claims this is a six channel system; however, I do not understand how you control the stock gyro without an additional channel? Any help you can provide before I start buying stuff I might not need would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I had been waiting and waiting for you to review the new FMS 80mm F-86. I was 100% sold on buying the F-86, but thanks to your review, I am rethinking that decision! I'm really put off by the cheap servos for the airbrakes. What a pain if they fail! Thanks again. Dale.

Maybe Brian would be grateful for your knowledge! Not to be a know it all, but as a military pilot, I can tell you there is a good reason why we have flashing wing tip lights. It helps avoid a visual anomaly (illusion) known as auto kinesis. All my best. Dale@@TwoBrosRC

Have you guys messed with using a larger battery than the recommended? I was just rearranging the 50 cal ammo boxes and now have more 6s 6000’s than 5000’s. I’d also like to see how the a-10 would handle a couple 4s 3200’s. I’ve yet to burn up an ESC or a motor, but it’s not like I haven’t tried.
@TwoBrosRC2 жыл бұрын
It would fly but it would fly poorly even if it balanced correctly. The servos will have to work harder to overcome the added inertia of the battery resulting in a sluggish feeling plane that's easier to stall and harder to fly.

It's cheaper to operate, only needing one battery instead of two. It's lighter, takes up less space, uses better motors (almost everyone upgrades FW motors to FMS motors), has scale gear, and is incredibly performant as you've seen here.

Hey man, how are the SMC packs that you’re using? I saw the 6200 mAh online. I have only used Spektrum batteries so far since I like the individual cells showing but it looks like these SMC packs are a good bank for their buck especially since I can get them to 4.35. Also idk if it’s a noob question but, I have the S1100 which is what I use to charge my 6s Spektrum packs, can I tell the charger to charge those SMC packs to 4.35? With Spektrum form obv reasons locks it at 4.2 but since I don’t have any other batteries to try it on that’s why I ask

So everything I’ve previously seen is that the 64mm eflite one is just better and more fun. But maybe they were comparing it to the v1? What do you think of it vs the eflite one?
@TwoBrosRC2 жыл бұрын
So the thing is, the E-flite model is definitely made by FMS - so it's two models by the same manufacturer. We touched on this around the time of the maiden landing. The 64mm A-10 is a great model but it's nowhere near as complex or as stable as the 70mm. The 64mm feels more difficult to land because it's smaller and more squirrelly as a result, and is rather heavy for a 64mm class jet. The 70mm is heavy too, but makes up for it by being scaled up and having more wing area to carry that weight. We prefer the 70mm so far, but we'd have to fly both side by side to make a true comparison - which we've done before with the V1, but we'll do it again with the V2.
@ronnymiller73952 жыл бұрын
If someone is dumb with batteries and often has to deadstick landing, which one would be a safer bet? lol

@@ronnymiller7395 Neither, really. They're both pretty heavy for their wing size. Though the 70mm might glide a bit better so long as you don't use flaps.

@TwoBrosRC2 жыл бұрын
It does have a pretty robust link system, but you may find that the nose retract needs reinforcement. Fly off grass for a bit. If it becomes loose, pull the entire retract out of the fuselage gently, but firmly, and resituate it with Gorilla Glue as reinforcement. It won't ever have an issue ever again.
