Massive Alternative Rock Collection @ Princeton Record Exchange March 2019

Just Arrived: Over 2,000 LPs/ 12”s and 400 7” singles!
We’ve just put out one of the more unusual collections we’ve had in some time. It’s a fascinating time capsule of the alternative music world from 1982- 1988. The former owner worked for music journals and a UK distributor during that period and shipped home those titles that grabbed him. This not the 80’s of Billy Joel, Kansas, and Springsteen. Think Minutemen, The Fall, The Smiths, Gang of Four, etc. instead.
Alt Rock, Punk, Post Punk, Indie Rock, Hardcore, New Wave, Goth Punk, Garage Rock, and other less-mainstream genres from the period are well represented, as well as a healthy dose of Garage/Sleaze reissue comps that were released during that time.
Also of note are a large amount, over 50, test pressings. Some of the artists are obscure, but there are some heavy hitters here including Dead Kennedys, Johnny Thunders, and The Replacements, many on the SST label, and What Goes On from the UK. In general, there are many imports in this collection, especially UK and Australian.
The conditions are, for the most part, excellent, except for a couple of dozen that have some water damage (marked down of course). Prices range from a couple of bucks to a couple of hundred based on scarcity and demand, but we’ve tried to be fair. This is an exciting collection for us with hundreds of titles we haven’t seen in years, if ever.
Please note that these records are sold first come, first served. Many of these titles are in very high demand, so to be as fair as we can to everyone, please do not call us to ask to put any on hold. For those not familiar with our store, sorry, we are a walk-in store only and do not ship.
