The very first time I heard this song was at my boyfriend's house in London in 1994. He passed away in 2010. I miss him terribly but he left me his great taste in music and love. Such a beautiful man. Such a beautiful song. Love you always Dave.

Don't know much about Massive Attack (I should've listened more from their discography) but I want to thank them for creating this song. It really helped me during (probably) the most difficult day in my entire life. 4 years ago when I came home from work and found my beloved mum dead in our living room - that was a really difficult. Being alone at home, I needed to inform my family members about everything, call funeral services, prepare clothes for her, etc. I had to contact dad - surprisingly everything went my way. I knew I managed the whole situtation really well. The fact is we're naver preapared for such tragedies... Afterwards, I realised life won't be the same and at the same time felt totally exhausted and confused. Normally, I would take a nap, but It didn't work. So I tried to have something to occupy my mind - check my social media, news and go to YT homepage and I stopped at recommended vidoes. I knew few songs from Massive Attack so I clicked this without thinking... The amount of temporary peace this song gave me was just immeasurable, can't remember for how long I've had this looped. What mattered most to me was that I could go to sleep for at least few hours - to gain some energy for upcoming days. My whole family needed me. I wouldn't have been open minded those days If I hadn't discovered this piece. As time goes by, I come back to this song from time to time - it reminds me of that hard time and I always came to the conclusion that I was strong then. And I try to be as strong as I can for my dad and myself (and it's not bad to doubt in yourself or to cry in front of your friend, etc.) You never know what the future will bring to you and you can't predict what kind of feeling you'll have. We both give a tremendous support to each other. I couldn't believe a song could help someone find some persistence and composure unitl... yeah. Thank you, Massive Attack. You will always have a special place in my heart.

Such a niche homage to legendary Billy Cobham and bassist Leland Sklar and to art in general. Music is one of the softest and the most recognizable form of art. You can convey your feelings, thoughts only with the power of instruments and adding this out of world vocal to Stratus truly completes that track in my opinion. Massive Attack, you are the legends of our time just as people like Billy Cobham, Miles Davis, and Herbie Hancock of 70s-80s.

Time to 'man up' and end sexual violence now. Bravo to Massive Attack for the message.
@lwjb095 жыл бұрын
Red Hugh no such thing as ‘manning up’ when you’re a man. It’s impossible to be a woman or anything else, if you’re a man. Same with being ‘less of’ or ‘more of’ a man. There’s no such thing, complete illusion and a societal construct. But ending sexual violence is great, authenticity in people will allow that to happen. When we’re all doing whatever we want to it’s never gonna have a long term impact, cos some people through inauthenticity choose abuse. Only authenticity in people means we can live peacefully and lovingly. This world is simply a choice of fear or love, and when we have a society that praises fear - ‘war heroes’/army, transgender, fighting sports, porn sites, very few of us choose love. Society is built to keep men, especially, from loving themselves and those who really hate themselves will abuse. ‘The Real man’ image/‘ideal which is just a person that is capable in fearful situations needs to be abolished. Once the world prioritises love and authenticity in people than such things can be rid of
