MASSIVE Book Unhaul // Unexpectedly Difficult

Time to do a little spring cleaning and go through my bookshelves. I ended up finding over 100 books to unhaul and it brought up a lot of unexpected emotions. Saying goodbye to books that were once meaningful to me was both complicated and healing. And now I have room to bring in the specific books that I want to own and have on my shelves to be inspired by!

Wow Bonnie, you packed a lot into those ten minutes! I had an inkling from one of your other videos where you did speed reviews, but I didn’t want to ask. I just want to say that I felt such care for you watching this, and proud of you, I can’t imagine the strength it must take. I don’t know your story and I won’t assume anything, but you mentioned a couple of things that sound really hard, so I just wanted to send you a hug and say that I think you’re very brave and strong for handling all that as well as sharing it. That might be scary too. I got emotional yesterday too, filming a silly tag video, so you’re not alone in that! Books can bring up a lot. Nice unhaul! It's hard to let go of books that have memories attached to them and i struggle with that as well. But it'll be less to carry when you move! I love the wrapped up book idea to tackle your physical tbr!

I love this! I feel like one day that'll be me too -- I'm really trying to keep a minimal collection and just use ebooks/make use of my local library. Honestly, this video stopped me from going out and taking advantage of the Target Buy 2 Get 1 Sale so THANK YOU 🧡 The questions you posed are also great -- pros/cons about having a large library at home, and what kind of library I want to curate. Those were really good questions that got me thinking about why I wanted to go out and "participate" in the sale in the first place. Perfect timing 💕 Thank you for being so raw in the video as well.

I love my library! I stopped going for several years and just started getting back to it the last couple years. And now most of my reading comes from library books! I definitely don't think it's always bad to buy new books or do fun hauls, but sometimes I need to just remind myself of my goals and intentions. I appreciate your kind and thoughtful comment!

I just moved! It was a pain to move all my books … I should have unhauled a bunch of them but I’m so attached! I’m getting better at letting them go though so hopefully next time we move, I will be able to let some go

I totally get that! I have had to let go in stages. I've had two massive purges and a few smaller ones over the years. I think sometimes there are seasons and in some seasons of life I might not be ready to let go of something and that's ok too!

Also I’m glad you were able to have a cathartic experience getting rid of some old books that have a lot of history but that don’t align with the you of today! Luckily, I never had a lot of religious books despite being very religious so the me of today doesn’t have to have that specific experience.
