tesla guy yeh I know there are a lot of Skylines die hards. But I'm going to go against the grain here and say I'd rather they didn't. I prefer a bit of healthy competition. You know? Android vs IOS or Nvidia vs Ati. I guess it's what brings on innovation and a healthy rivalry to spur forward even better games in the future. I feel when there are two rival companies, it's like there are two schools of thought. Two development teams that can go a similar route or a totally radically separate one. And each is like a social experiment aimed at proving their salt in the market and seeing how gamers take to their creations as a whole. So I say bring it on.

make a truck lane, ai cars go the same speed
@Baleur5 жыл бұрын
Because all those trucks had to turn LEFT after that long bridge, to get on the correct routing for their future transport lines. Half of them sitting in the RIGHT lane wouldnt help, would it? Because they'd still have to turn in on the inner lane again before the intersection. The thing baffling here is your lack of comprehension of how traffic lines work. This is NOT the same problem as in Cities Skylines. Different games.

@tylerhendrix145 жыл бұрын
I think the traffic would went through smoother if you put in a sunken highway that runs through the cities rather than simply connecting it directly to a city street. Having more than one on and off ramp also helps. That way congestion isn't too much of a problem and your industry gets their product to the city faster. Train yards would also make your city more realistic. Other than that, great job. I can tell you spent so many hours on this alone.

@Busketroll5 жыл бұрын
@@theoneseraph GTA 5 have recieved several graphical updates since it's original launch, especially when it was ported over to PC. So it's not really fair to compare it. Besides, Rockstar is a slightly larger company than paradox and GTA have always had a larger player base and demand for up-to-date graphics. A city building sim is not exactly expected to up it's graphics every 3 years.
@theoneseraph5 жыл бұрын
@@Busketroll This isn't just about graphical updates. It's about staying ahead of your competition. Aside from RDR2, is there another sandbox open world shooter which can say it's doing something better than GTA? No, is the answer. Paradox have been doing the same thing with their grand strategy titles, they are kinda leading the way on that front. But they have a city building title which is being compared to a transport tycoon. That's a problem. Cities Skylines needs to be the best at what it does or it gets flak from the fans when they see other games do things they should be doing better. That's not to say cities is a bad game, I personally love it, but to say it doesn't need improvements because Paradox is too small, just gives them an excuse to be lazy. I'll admit putting paradox up against one of the biggest games companies in the world is a bit unfair but the point stands.
@Busketroll5 жыл бұрын
@@theoneseraph Look, i don't condone Paradox' lazy way of doing things, they're practically tearing apart games such as CK2 and EU4 with constant garbage filler DLC that costs a fortune when added up together. However, most people in this comment section complain about Cities' graphics, which i don't see any problem with as it's more than likely the art style that's putting people off and to be fair Cities is probably the one game Paradox has with the least amount of DLC's (excluding their most recent releases of course).

Same as Ladislav, city tables and charts would be really handy. Or just the numbers of base pop + % modifiers :) I was trying to compare the growth of cities with TF1. In TF1 the cities just perpetually grew once connected. But in TF2 it looks like base pop is everything. Seems to be rising by 1 every 2 or 3 years by itself. Everything the player does seems to only increase the cap to where the cities might grow to based on the % modifiers applied to base pop. And once reaching the cap they simply stop growing besides those 1 pop ticks every couple years. Goods and resources seem to be pretty straightforward, modifiers range from +0% to +100% based on the % of demand met. The only % I wasn't able to quite figure out are destinations, don't know if it maxes out on 100% too or it can go higher. Also I am not quite sure how many transfers can it calculate to. In TF1 hooking up a city by bus with one that is already on a train line catapulted the grow of that new city through the roof. In TF2 the number of possible public transport destinations for that new city goes up too, but not nearly as much as I would say there are destinations on that whole train line with their innercity public transport systems. The perpetual grow was my favourite mechanic in TF1, since it provided new challanges over the years as cities kept and kept growing. It would be pretty disappointing for me if they couldn't in TF2.
