Jamie I’ve had three of these Astras you don’t need to take headlight out to change bulbs it is awkward but you don’t take light out .

Jamey, I can feel your pain. I had a worse experience with the same make and model from August to November. I have not yet recovered from the trauma.

I'd try the thermostat if it's not the waterpump.

Change the water pump that’s all it is if it has a gasket it will come with it if not it won’t come with it.

Did you mean to put winter tyres on the car? Just noticed the michelins are winters so will wear down very quickly in warmer weather

They were part warn tyres so that’s what tyres they gave to me

Sorry, mate. Just change the top gasket, though it's a hard job, just endure the pain. Can you change the gasket yourself?

Yes I can do it my self I’ve ordered a new water pump

Wouldn't the MOT have picked up the coolant leak?

It wasn’t leaking when the mot was done it happened after a long test drive I got back and saw a puddle of coolant under the car which wasn’t an issue before but I’ve ordered a new water pump now
