Massive declutter and sort out desperately needed

A tip for your daughter's sale: if you have a bunch of little bitty things that aren't worth much individually, put them in a clear ziploc bag and sell the bag for a pound, or 50p, instead of pricing them individually. Tape the bag closed with packing tape so it wont get opened during the sale. My sister and I did sales like this and the "grab bags" always sell. You could do the same with almost anything: hair doodads, new unused makeup, craft supplies, kitchen gadgets. I saw a lot of bits and bobs go in your sell pile and I thought some kid would be thrilled to get a bag full of those treasures!

Wow,you really did declutter a lot of bits!🙌🏻(I felt bad for you when you had to go through it all again to sort. A lot of those organizing shows usually have three,marked bags or boxes that say. “keep”, “sell”, “toss” so that they only handle it once. Also,on the next go round, dump the contents of all five wicker boxes onto the floor and then put the keepers back in categories,such as stuffed animals in one,tiny toys in another,strictly keepsakes in another. Because right now it’s all just stored randomly without any hope of finding something specific or putting something away purposefully.)🫤 We all truly want you all to live your best tidier lives!🥰

The cube shelf with the four wicker basket is actually quite attractive on that wall and very calming because you don’t see any clutter. However I think that your daughter is onto a fantastic idea about using the space under her bed,it the bookcase was laid on it’s side under there,it would still function because the spaces are squares,but the visual clutter would not be the first thing that is seen when entering the room and there would still be a counter space on top to sit all of the stuffed animals under the bed. If those two categories,including books and stuffies from the playroom, were the ONLY items under the bed, pushed all the way back, adding a pillow and blanket might make it THE COZIEST place to read? I’ll be right over!😂🤣😅

@@gettingtidy2495 I would first clear out everything from under the bed and vacuum.Then empty the tall,four cube bookcase,lay it on it’s side and push it all the way to the back wall under the bed.refill the cubes with books and there really should be enough room on top to have all of the stuffed animals sitting on top like they’re sitting on a bench. There also should still be enough room to play or read under there,maybe get a light that clips to the bedpost. Then you could put a nice tall wicker hamper and trash can where the bookcase used to stand.( Two necessary items for promoting a tidier room,plus they would match nicely with the four basket shelf.🙌🏻)

I think that Brooke the teacher maybe referring to the word revision because as I pointed out ,the British definition is to study for but the U.S. means to change,correct or update. So I think she meant that she let her students look at their papers again to correct any mistakes before the final grade by her as the teacher? ( I actually think that this would be helpful to both the teacher and the student because sometimes they are just in a hurry and make an error but on closer examination,they themselves could replace it with the correct answer and the teacher would realize they they do know the information being taught.)🤔

Could your daughter make better use of the globe in the dining room? I find geography questions come up more downstairs over lunch/dinner and homework time. Nurture your daughters need to do her homework near others, Some people need that physical presence to get stuff done x

Do you intend to clear her room more. She has a tremendous amount of things in that room. The play room as well, why have a playroom when that room could be an office for you and your husband. Perhaps you could down size to only what she really wants to keep and that will fit in her room. When I was growing up 4 girls and 1 boy. All of us girls had to sleep together on one queen size bed. We barely had room to have necessities. We were quite poor and when I see someone who has an over abundance of things and doesn't use but maybe 10%, It upsets me. If you didn't grow up poor then you may not understand what I mean. My husband and I have a very small house, it's what we can afford. Someone found out where we lived and use Google earth and found our house, then was taunting my husband for not having a very nice house. It was very mean to pick on us for not having much! On the floor lamp, I have one in my parlor and it's about four and a half feet tall. It has a cast iron stand and a thin pole with decorative twists on it with a cream colored shade. She’s graciously giving us a peek in to her home. If it causes you to be upset maybe this isn’t the best use of your time and energy. I don’t think I’ve heard her speak ill of anyone let alone the poor. There’s always someone who has more than us but there’s also someone who has less.

​@@esther61374 This is why I don't like to comment on videos. I in no way shape or form meant anything mean or hurtful. She is a lovely young lady and I would never hurt her. Writing words and speaking words are communicated so differently. The way you took my comment is not what I was trying to convey. The first part was a suggestion to gain more space, the second part was giving her an insight to my life, the third part was describing my lamp. Your comment was obviously meant to hurt me and you did. I hope you are very proud of yourself. If Emma is upset, she can ask me what I meant. Maybe you should find some way to occupy your time instead of hurting people.

I'm going to get rid of more things in her room. She has been very lucky with what she has. We have not bought many things it's all the presents she gets. It must have been hard growing up and I'm shocked about someone being mean about your home. I think people get confused. True wealth doesn't come from things, big houses and stuff. That doesn't bring lasting joy. Those things are not truly important. Your floor lamp sounds lovely 😊
