Wow! I had no idea a high end set up like that could get that bad! Amazing job and finished clean up! Love the stone layout of this scape! Can’t wait to see it fully grown in! Great choice on the fish! I know they are used a lot but I think a big school of cardinal tetras would look nice! Or a big school of glass catfish would look cool!

Clean up looks great. Unfortunately my setup won’t take that kind of clean up crew as the fish will eat the shrimp and snails. Considering a Pleco or Siamese algae eaters at this point but there’s a point where the get too big and I’ll need to return them.

I am dealing with a big diatom bloom in my planted 10g. Not a new tank either. Been running for a year. Many of my stems suffered and had to be removed. Manually remove as much as I can by hand right before my water change. Within 4 days, everything is covered again. Not a tap water problem because I have a 75g with no diatoms. I have yet to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Thinking of just starting over. As for what fish to add to that beautiful tank, I say many more Rummynose!
@aquascapingluxemburg12592 жыл бұрын
Maybe a school of Hyphessobrycon amandae. If almost everything is lost, add a few shrimp and after 2 weeks the tank will look as it never has seen algea before. I love it

I used the “clean result” as a thumbnail in the previous video, because I haven’t had a nice picture of the scape right after the planting. but trust me, it’s correct and in chronological order as it is. The sad truth about nerite snails is, 30-50% don’t make it. That’s why I stock more in the beginning.

Sawbwa Resplendens..rummy nose rasbora could be interesting. They also have the colored nose and are very attractive. Seems they would be slightly different enough in color and look but similar enough to go well together and look sweet with the separate schools of movement. Hard to say not have seeing the two together. I feel like there is also a chance the look could clash and maybe seem strange. What are your thoughts?

I consider Diatome algae is the easiest to get rid of, others it's just a nightmare. I have green algae , and I can't eliminate them yet. But I might discovered the issue, I'm having some problem with the CO2 system. What do you think? Thanks for showing us.
@JurijsJutjajevs2 жыл бұрын
Usually green algae appears when balance between NPK is disturbed. If one of the nutrients is depleted, the others cannot be used any more. Find out the limiting factor and you are one step closer to solving the issue. Of course CO2 levels have to be good at all times and the light shouldn’t be too powerful.

I have been battling diatoms for 4 weeks now in 6 week old 45p tank with S repens and Monte Carlo. Running co2 and dosing with S- nutrition 2 pumps per day. I have the Twinstar 3 RGB and a electric dimmer that you previewed . Floating plants and fast growing stem plants have just been put in and I have one Otto and 6 A shrimp What would you do with the light intensity and duration in this situation ? Also I have been having to manually suck and clean every day and doing 75 % daily water changes. Tank was showing amonia last week but has dropped down to 0.25ppm now.
@JurijsJutjajevs2 жыл бұрын
Limit duration to 6h/day and intensity to 50%. Get some more shrimps and snails. Otherwise check the silicates in the water. I’m using RO with a additional resin filter to remove as much from the tap water as possible
@araniranir74922 жыл бұрын
Why didn't you remove the protective foil and the foams protecting the lenses? The lamp looks better without
@JurijsJutjajevs2 жыл бұрын
I did remove the foam, but kept the film for now as it reduces the light. The clip of the light was from an earlier video 😉 well spotted

Great job clearing it up! What a transformation. For stocking, I would add a school of pygmy cories and keep some of the horned nerites. As centerpiece fish, maybe do one or two pairs of Apistogramma (agassizii, borelli opal, macmasteri, or trifasciata) or one or two pairs of Dicrossus filamentosus or one or two pairs of Dicrossus maculatus, or maybe even a combination of these since you have two islands of stone they can use as territories. Obviously, keep water parameters in mind when choosing the fish. Then, I'd add a school of small tetras that complement or contrast the centerpiece fish (reed tetras, tucano tetras, purple/black emperor tetras, penguin tetras, rainbow tetras, pristella tetras, etc.), or maybe fish like coral red pencilfish. If you want to risk heartbreak, maybe you could add one Steve (Stiphodon sp.?) to the setup ;) Can't wait to see how the tank fills in! As always your work is a huge inspiration.

All maintenance was on me. I did one large water change every week with manual removal. That’s it. Algae eaters + light reduction, both photo period and ambient light have done the trick
@miaobinhuang23152 жыл бұрын
Why is it green aqua algae guide from their site stating cause of diatoms partly because of low lighting and your advice is to reduce lighting duration or lower luminosity? This is confusing.
@JurijsJutjajevs2 жыл бұрын
Light is always the driving power. No light, no growth. Not sure about the greenaqua approach. In my case reducing the amount of light has helped to slow down the growth of diatoms, while the algae crew has eliminated the rest. Once the tank has cleaned up, I have gradually increased the light period back to 7h/day.
