I have a fx79 waiting for a rainy day build but I'm in no hurry. I have a fx-61, z84, c1 chaser, and some s800s and even though the fly well they just don't compare to my mini-talons. The wind really bugs the wings but the mini-talons handle it much better. If you are trying to do a mission and end up with some head wind the wings slow to a crawl but the MT does pretty good. Now for line of sight flying that slow floaty wing is much better.

Thanks for sharing. Got the fx-79 too, using mg 2 servos on each elevon with ball links, because they are big and flex to much. Since then no flexing and flys straight on high speed, using a 4240/07 850kv up to 800W motor on 4s with 13x6,5 folding prop. Works great!

Awesome plane and great video, I had my chance to put my hands on one of these but missed the opportunity! A couple things you may want to look into. From what I understand, you do not want to add trim to the radio with iNav. iNav will see those trims as inputs from the radio, also no mixing, rates or expo with the radio, all in iNAv. One more thing that won't be a problem unless you are doing long range is the antenna, it really should be mounted vertically so the two null zones exit below and above the craft. Horizontal like it is creates two null zones coming out the left and right side of the airplane which could be an issue when you try to turn home at distance.

Thanks for watching and for the tips Ryan. Yes I reset the trims to zero after enabling auto trim, so it fools inav into thinking you are flying level. Seemed to work well because the second flight was more or less level and that was all from the FC, no trim. I won’t be flying any more than 2 miles out I wouldn’t think, so hopefully will ok 👍

I’ve always like this wing gonna add it to my fleet for my next build. Will go well with the fx79 and z84 I already have. It seems the launch holding the wing method works pretty well for take off. It was my only concern with this dig wing is getting her in the air when flying alone. Cheers

Yeah treat yourself 😂. It’s a not easy hanging onto it for that wing launch I can tell you, but no way I’m getting my hand anywhere near that massive prop! Just watch out for that initial nose down on the first launch, but other than that it was fine. I might have a go with inav auto launch too. Cheers for watching 💪

@@tdogrc my fx61 also nose drives a bit on launch I found the auto launch on that struggled to lift it quick enough before hitting the ground.

Yes I have tried them. They slow it down really well but give it so much lift it almost just sits in the air 😂

Be better if you used a camera so you can see the wing flying and not a video of the sky.

Thanks for the comment Geoff. I know it’s not ideal, tricky when I’m on my own you see. I am thinking I need to get a small camera to say mount on the wing so at least you can see an angle of the model itself and I can cut between the two. 👍
