Home Alone is definitely a Christmas movie 🍿 And Kevin hung the paint cans from the upstairs banister. The only trap I could see Kevin having a problem setting up would be the zip line to the tree house. Other than that it was pretty believable. Have a Merry Christmas 🎄

We start watching Christmas movies at the beginning of November and my top faves are Home Alone 1&2, Jingle All the Way, A Christmas Story and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. The Talkboy came out when I was a bit old to play with stuff like that but I'm totally into them now. This was a fun look back and it's crazy how much your channel has grown the past 2 years! Nostalgia rules!!

Rick, loved your "Home Alone" tribute. It IS a Christmas movie, no doubt (although I don't personally consider Die Hard or Gremlins Christmas movies). I'm in my 50's so I remember these coming out at the movies well. Your laser disc comment about not really remembering them made me laugh and realize just how old I am. lol I have a laser disc player and maybe 30 or so discs. They were the precursor for dvd's and were improved on when they made them smaller, aka the dvd. And you said you grew up on Genesis. I spent my teens playing Atari , they didn't have video games open to the masses til then. lol Mission Command was my jam. Anyway just wanted to say I love watching your channel. Brings back a lot of memories of my teens and early 20's. Great job!

Man I really enjoyed this whole video! Home Alone 1 & 2 are the first Christmas movies I have to watch every year to get me in the Christmas spirit. Home alone 2 was the very first vhs tape I ever owned and I watched it almost every night to fall asleep to when I was a kid lol. Had every word memorized too. Definitely a Christmas movie no doubt. Also a fun fact. The director that made home alone originally was working on Christmas vacation but he couldn’t work with Chevy Chase and left the film. Then was offered home alone and he jumped on it.

Home Alone is a Christmas movie. About how a family can come together against all odds especially at Christmas time. Die Hard is a Christmas action movie and one of my favorite movies of all time. Laser discs are basically big DVDs. I find them in thrift stores sometimes

Home alone 1 & 2 are without a doubt Christmas movies they both take place a couple of days before Christmas and all Kevin wants for Christmas by the end is his family to be there with him the first 2 home alone movies couldn't exist at or on any other day of the year because the wet bandits are there to steal any glimpse of happiness that Christmas brings

If you watch the behind the scenes making of home alone (which if you haven’t, you need to!) they literally decorated his house in Christmas colours because they wanted every scene to scream Christmas! There is red and green everywhere. No doubt, Christmas movie.

Love your collection Rik, that Kevin doll is a little Freaky though especially as he can't scream 😂 Home alone is definitely a Christmas movie 100%.Sure technically the story could be set at any time but it works even more at Christmas. It's not only about a little boy home alone for Christmas. It's about his family , in particularly his mum trying to get home for Christmas, for him. That struggle can be real for some families they may never get home for Christmas, just like all John candy's band in the film. That's what Christmas is all about the family get together and being at home for Christmas! Because sadly there are some people home alone for Christmas, this film strengththens the importance of family/friends unity at Christmas. To me that's more important than the presents etc. Christmas is not being alone. Its family🎅🎄

I'm totally on board with Home Alone and Gremlins as Christmas movies, but not so much Die Hard. The Talkboy was my favorite item you featured. Did you know that the young adult novelization of the film explained that he made his voice lower when calling the hotel by simply squeezing the player? Apparently the one in the film did not have the dial that the marketed toy does. As I recall the book also opens with a dream sequence where Kevin had set traps in the garage as well and in a particularly grotesque moment he drops a running push lawnmower onto the Wet Bandits.

Of course it's a Christmas movie. Kevin's change of heart towards the scary neighbor could only happen because the Christmas spirit brings us together.
