Hi Emma, the name of your Channel is “ Getting Tidier”. NOT “Getting Rid of Everything in One Day”!! You are strengthening your decluttering muscles every time you decide to let go of things. Some people don’t have the patience to watch you go along at your own speed. I enjoy watching you work plus hearing about what’s going on in your life. Progress not perfection is the name of the game. You are doing well. ❣️❤️❤️🍁🍁

Alas my shells got decluttered a few years ago. Didn’t even remember them until you mentioned shell collecting so I think I let go at the right time. I did another decluttering round in my kitchen last week and it felt wonderful. I love that you call the subsequent rounds “layers” as it seems like an exciting archeological dig. Blessings from Texas!

Hi Emma! Another great video from you! Speaking of toiletries, over the years I've purchased hair conditioners that end up not working on my hair. I've learned that conditioner makes a silky smooth and hydrating shaving cream for legs and armpits! It's a great way to use them up!

When you mention Enid Blyton it reminded me of the popular Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery who wrote Anne of Green Gables. Her personal diaries have been published and I have read all five of them. Her life was extremely interesting and made for great reading. One of the places she lived in was a small town called Leaksdale in Ontario close to where I am living. I booked a tour of her house there and it was an amazing experience to actually walk through all the rooms that she has written about and lived in daily. Her personal life was a series of ups and downs and to me vastly more interesting than any of her “Anne” books. If your daughter is a fan of Anne of Green Gables she might enjoy that tour. I never miss any of your videos and following your great progress ❤

Hi Emma, Bea from Australia here🇦🇺 what a great video, you are doing a fantastic job with the kitchen and the pantry. Yes we had Enid Blyton here, I have fond memories reading her books as a child. Please take a moment and be proud of all the progress you have made so far, but also what a lovely online community you have created. I must say it is such a supportive and encouraging group of people who comment, and i truly believe alot of that is a reflection of what an upbeat, optimistic and persevering person you are. Keep up the great work! You are inspiring. I tell myself when decluttering "its about progress, not perfection" 😀💕👍💖

I'm looking forward to your sale next year. I hope you do a video organising all the stuff and pricing it up. I'm currently downsizing my stuff as moving house next year, and I don't want to take all my excess clutter with me. I sold a lot of the decent stuff at a car boot sale in August with great success. (I recommend sourcing a wallpaper pasting table to set up and display all your most expensive stuff on) I really enjoyed doing it. Just don't be tempted to spend the money you make by going around all the other tables at the sale!! It took me two to three goes at decluttering before I could make final decisions on stuff. Especially if they had good memories attached. Wasn't easy letting go. And I even felt sad initially putting all the stuff out on the sale table. But once the stuff had gone and you saw the joy on someone else's face buying that item, then it felt great and a big relief.

We’d pick acorns , leaves and spinning jennies . Re ironing board I got rid of ours before we moved house 3 yrs ago , I’ve not missed it ! Like you if I get the iron out 2 or 3 times in a year that’s all ...... I bought a lush bath sheet and place that folded on my kitchen side and use that instead . No storing of a huge board and the towel is simply folded in the airing cupboard 😁. Love , love , love your videos 👌You’re my cup of tea Emma ☕️🥰🦔🍁🦔🍁🦔🍁🦔🍁🦔

I’d vote for the writing lists thing. I do it sometimes and it works fine for giving an overview of what needs doing. Very satisfying crossing things out as you do them…or crossing them out if you decide you don’t have to do them! Oh, and can you, where you live, put out a sign saying no advertisements thank you? No fly lady for me! Or anyone else’s method. I’m more into so called Swedish death cleaning which gives me an aim rather than a method. One more thing: I wouldn’t worry too much about books for kids. The most important thing is the friends they have, the encouragement they get and most important of all…you! We want them to be independent thinkers.

Hello Emma, this is Linda from Oregon. It looks like you might need some support under the second shelf. At my past home I just use a couple of 1”x2”s pieces of wood and moved them to adjust to the items on the bottom shelf. It helps. You should see the books they are giving to our young children in the US. My grandchildren are just entering kindergarten, I’ve been warned about some books in school now. I went to the local library with these titles, Oh my, I can’t believe these books, why do our children need to learn positions in any grade? I’m glad you are reading and looking into your child’s reading material. We all need to be vigilant. Let them have a childhood. Great work on the pantry. ❤

Thank you for your post. As parents and grandparents we must speak out and protect our children. Are you talking about what may take place in a relationship? I have a real issue with teachers wanting to talk about this, I find it perverted. They wish to push certain agendas on our children. We must protect them. Your voice of support to your daughter/son will mean a great deal.

Something must be going on with You Tube. 🤷‍♀️You might want to consider the mop, broom, etc. hangers that you mount on the door or wall to save space. There's also hooks for hanging the ironing board and even the iron on a shelf on top. Shelving risers and lazy susans can be very helpful. We have an inexpensive store here (USA) called Dollar Tree. I do not typically collect shells. Due to living in Minnesota, most of the lakes and rivers only have things like mussels etc. for shells. However, I do pick up rocks. Yes, rocks. Usually agates, but not just agates. I like different stones and once they are polished, they are quite nice. It's quite common for people to put river rock in their flower beds, around their homes, when landscaping. We have granite in our beds, and I wish it was river rock instead, as we have to add more to it and it's quite expensive. Like double the cost. I also like sea glass and will find an occasional piece along the river. We actually have a store called Rocks and Things and they have all kinds of stones and crystals etc., many sizes and from many countries. I have a few special stones from there. The nicer stones I put in a somewhat shallow bowl to display. The others are kept in unique jars with lids. My grandmother used to pick up rocks and had jars and jars of them. I never knew this until after she passed away at 106 yrs. of age. I must have gotten the desire from her. I do like to use natures gifts to decorate my home.

I only got to watch about a third of your video earlier today. Listening now and actually snorted my nose listening to your comments about yours and your husband's pretentious breakfast! Hmmm... I will have to look and see if I can still find your former gardening channel. Could you please share the new name? I was happy to see that your deep fat fryer is now in the pantry. Is that a coffee grinder in its place? My husband used to say that silence is agreement. You should tell your husband that getting rid of the ironing board saved you so much room in the pantry and see how he responds! 😂 I collect shells and rocks when I am out and about or on vacation. Then they go in with the other sand tray toys that my clients can use in therapy. None of the ones I have collected are as beautiful as yours though. Maybe you should get your daughter a hermit crab that can use them! Currently I am not in the office, due to my health. But I thought you would find it funny that my office is located in Norfolk. One of those rooms that you showed remind me of a toned down Downton Abbey! That lawn is beautiful. You certainly are starting to have changing colors. 🎉 We also got a picnic basket with plastic dishes for our wedding! We never used it, so after about 10 years it was donated

Super comment and soooo much for me to reply with 🥰 As for the breakfast did I say how I mentioned to the waiter that the breakfast was lovely but I was rather hungry 😁😁 How is your health at the moment? I have so many questions about your work.

@@gettingtidy2495 my health is fairly good right now. 10 more days until I get my next BOTOX for migraine. Except for the few days after my last injections on August 1st, they have been rare. The exercise challenge definitely help me to get in the groove of moving at least 30 minutes a day and using weights which I think has helped.
