I do the odd bit of magnet fishing here in stevenage, only really one place to do it and thats at the local fishing lake but its surprising what I've pulled up in the past, and your the one who inspired me to get into the hobby dude, watching your videos and hearing and seeing how good it is to clean out the crap and rubbish from the canals or lakes really inspired me! I haven't fished since this past June, mostly bcuz there are few places to check out and also my health isn't so hot. Will be on the road come Oct. so I may actually check out some of the locks here in Upstate NY, USA that are just like the ones you have Drastic in England... more or less.

Unfortunately, nope. Not exactly. We have uncaring slobs polluting our waters here-n-there just like any country does. However, there are folks who try to do their part to clean out the rubbish when city officials can't seem to get off their lazy butts to do something productive. The canal in NY state was of the old Erie Canal and Oswego River from Syracuse to Lake Ontario also has locks to it which cruise boats travel along on.

I got a 1700 pound double sided magnet. I've just been too afraid to get it stuck without some friends. I've only found fishing lures and 1 bottle cap with my 400 pound magnet. It's nice to give the lures to kids who are watching and let them have some throws too! Clean lakes can be less exciting for magnets.
