I can’t believe you are the only one with a video about this Blair Witch Project release. I figured KZbin would have been flooded with news about it by now. I happened to see it for preorder on Diabolik this morning and I immediately pulled the trigger. The fact that they not only remastered it from the original tape/film elements, but we are also getting the festival cut is just PHENOMENAL. The ONLY thing that could ruin this is if they pulled an Inland Empire and just upconverted it usung AI. 🤞🏻They gave it a proper restoration. I’m sure they did. Needless to say, I’m SO fu$&ing excited for this definitive edition.

I preordered both releases from Diabolik. I agree that the artwork for the Umbrella release of LNWTD is better than Second Sight's version but I would rather have a 4K disc. I really like Umbrella but generally prefer Second Sight as well as Vinegar Syndrome. The main reason is that Umbrella usually seems to just reissue existing releases but with upgraded packaging. No remastering or restoration. There are exceptions of course like Razorback, Tesis, Super Mario Bros, etc. SS and VS also have great packaging and put in the work when it comes to the transfers.

Completely agree, dude! VS is really at the top of the mountain when it comes to packaging, but Second Sight and Umbrella are right there with them these days. It feels like they are listening to not just the cinephiles, but the collectors these days and that is super sweet for us lol. Just not our wallets 🤣. Thanks for hangin, man!

The original film and even the low res DVD of blair witch project looks fine to me. I don't understand what needs "fixing". ? Who are these guys, George Lucas? You're going to fix something perfect? Why? Because it's not tinted right or some crap? Why don't you fix Book of Shadows and the crap on that movie? Come on George

Haha, I hear you dude. Yeah I'm not exactly sure what they didn't like about other cuts of the film, but I'm willing to bet it has something to with the film grain and lighting, etc🤷🏻‍♂️. I'm not an expert but I do know Blair Witch was a massive landmark film when it came out, so I'm excited either way! Appreciate you hangin and watchin brother!🤘🏻

@@MylesofHorrorhome video releases previously presented a transfer from a 35mm copy that had been made for the theaters at that time. But that 35mm copy was itself a transfer from a digibeta version that was considered at that time as the master version. For the new releasee, second sight worked with producers and directors to create a brand new transfer from the original digibeta master, in order to respect the “found footage” video aspect intended by the creators. This digibeta master had been indeed edited from 8mm and hi8 footages. I will not add more technical details about the frame per second, screen resolution etc. Then the second sight release is an absolute must for any physical media collector esp in horror genre.

The second sight release is UK only region B locked. Blair witch will not work on US 4k players
