Thats a good sign for us and I still think we have a chance. We treated him like a king last year.

I want Santander back but know it won't happen I just love the way he hits he puts pressure on pitching and routinely goes over 9 or 10 pitches an at bat.

He wants to play on the west coast. He went to college in the Bay Area and grew up in Bakersfield.

Burns is waiting to see whether the O's decides too trade for Cease, Castillo, or Miller over spending millions on Burns. Sasaki is watching as well since Tomo signed.

I am skeptical that Burns will sign with the Orioles--from both ends.

Mr Brice: I respect your point of view, but, if I were the Orioles, I would offer him a contract for 5 years and $250M, opting about in his third year. 7 years seems too much!

I read he wants an opt out but the Giants don’t want it.

I just want to know whether or not our new owner is freewheeling "Old Angelos" who threw money around to put up an all-star team in the late 90's or penny-pinching "Old Angelos" who had us going through misery for years. Or something in between? After a year, we're still looking conservative and safe, just a bit smarter.

I feel that. I think considering the size of Baltimores market, we need to be a little more conservative and responsible when it comes to spending unlike a team like the Mets. If Chris Davis put us in the red for over a decade, what would the Verlander and Scherzer contracts have done to our team? But now, it seems as if we have one of the richest owners in sports, Rubenstein along with some of the minority owners all run hedge funds worth hundreds of billions of dollars. When Rubenstein says he bought the team to give back to Baltimore, I believe him.. and I don’t think he lacks the intellect that would tell him we’re in a special window and the time to win is now. Paying Corbin now with an option say 5-7 years down the line could give us an opportunity to extend Adley, Gunnar, Colton, Grayson, etc. or who knows. Maybe Rubenstein balls out and we become a destination for high end feee agents as well

Spoiler alert: It has nothing to do with Rubenstein. Elias is too risk averse for long deals, Rubenstein has said he'll pay for the players Elias wants. Place your blame accordingly when Burnes signs somewhere else.

As much as it hurts me to say. The Os will never be a powerhouse like it was in the 60s-70s and 80s, or like NYY , Dodgers, Braves. are now. The economies of baseball doesn't allow it. They could still have a run maybe even win it all, but unfortunately we will always lose our best players and never be able to sign the best FA available. Just hope we can get lucky in the draft and be competitive.

30m per year for 8+ years. Always great to see when you spend other peoples money. Remember the same argument about Glenn Davis. If you tie 300m in Burnes you may hamstring this team for the next 5 years. Unlike Davis, I do like Burnes. Not sure how deep the owner's pockets are. Is going to be Texas hold'em and go all in on the chance or play the long game. We will see.

The Os give a 300/mil contact. 😂😂😂.. The Os operate like a classic small market mlb team. No signing of expensive FA only trading away top 100 prospects for top talent and hope you catch lightning in a bottle one year. And when you finally run out of good prospects, lose for the next 10 years and restock talent, then rinse and repeat.
