I would love to see you demo some of the Alexander pedals. They are compact, MIDI-capable digital pedals, and they sometimes pack the features of 2 or more Strymon-quality pedals in one box.

Hey I'm just six minutes or so in to the video so far, and I don't know if the settings for these pedals are as the owner set them up or if Leon has dialed everything in himself- and the playing is great as always- but I just have to say the choice of settings and audio path - it sounds stunning. The fuzz factory was perfectly setup for example, nailed the gated potential and the octavia qualities and the quintessential fuzz factory sound just loved that- it wasn't set in the "safe" position, that's what I love. The balls of it all. The phase 90 was perfectly played here, you can hear the curl and the crunch they are known for. The supa puss is one of the most tape-capable analog delays I have ever heard and that fading away into the distance quality was perfectly captured. Amazing video, the board is overkill but I'm enjoying

That board has the same decimator setup as I run. I used the G-String in front of the amp and the Decimator 2 in the loop. I use the link cable so the one in the loop receives a clean guitar signal like the G-String does in front of the amp. I have to use a little Morley isolation transformer to stop ground loops with the link cable. This setup is fantastic. My huge pedal rig is dead silent.
@paulbradshawguitar11 ай бұрын
weren't kidding with the size, it's larger than axe-edit on your screen 😄 the weight of that +flight case must be very intense kudos Bren, very nice board, super clean , don't see the Korg SDD too often or the oldschool hog2 and the bigbox cali76, very awesome just wondering about the two decimators, one out front routed after the boosts or first in line and the other in the FX loop? Leon, you should definitely demo the Korg delay and Hog2 if you have the time, don't see those often

I had something similar in a 5 space rack with a Switchblade 8B for switching and my H9/FTT/Torpedo/ducking pedals and a TC TripleC to shape it. Freaking epic and weighed less than a Fender Twin. Still got it, it's just been kind of cannibalised. Now I just do all of it with a DAW, my interface and NDSP and never been happier.

My studio board is currently made of ~10 pedals. No switcher. Signal runs like this, front amp: Strobostomp HD-Whammy 5-Crybaby 535Q-TC Sentry (4 cables)-Modified O.D-GT-OD / in the loop : BF-3-Julia V2-Timeline-Slö-Fathom. I refuse to add more pedals, it's a personal way to force my creativity with what I have. For now, it works, I didn't reach its limits. 🤘😎

Was that a dirty amp model set clean? How could a pickup as weak as a split PRS DGT Treble break up a clean amp?
@brandonjackson586511 ай бұрын
I started playing in the multi fx processor era so having a clean tone rhythm and lead on a bank is really ideal but I’ve gotten into pedals lately and realistically something like this is about the only way you could set up in a similar way without tap dancing all around. I guess the axe fx is sort like the digitech and zoom multi fx modeler perfected but I’d get options paralysis.

Not exactly my tones but a quantity build is a lot of work. Only pedals so far, the 90, flanger, sd3000, the Cali..superb. I want that red mission expression then can finish my collection! My board of pedals is of very similar real estate but, cabling into options that purpose parallel effects is essential as we all know. After all this work traded the board and built another entirely arund the TC G System limited and pedals in loops. I've become to accustomed to working creatively in my studio and rack effects. This video will prompt more outings and sightings of the live board. Essentially gentlemen I have learned a he'll of a lot from this channel in our never ending quest for the best, salutations Mr Todd we thank you sir! But AxeFX 3 is soundly my next stage.

I’ve an all analog monster pedalboard that size. It’s a kitchen sink with isolated loops and buffer placement representing my best understanding of what I wanted in front of a switched amp at the time. And fwiw, it’s whisper quiet. (Thanks Voodoolab.) Using the Fractal stuff is causing it to collect dust. What would be useful is more ability to mix in parallel on a board. I always had complicated switching and isolated loops in my rack rig. Now I’m eager to go back and build a new one throwing in one of my rack mixers. Looks like fun! 😊 Cheers mate, all, D

That's a big pedalboard, although I've seen bigger. Some years ago, I bought a Ground Control GCX switching system that should allow me to rack-mount many of my pedals in drawers. Kinda silly, but should hopefully allow me to patch together a signal chain without too much noise. I eventually need to get a Switchblade to connect the rack units I have. And eventually I'll need a bigger rack... LOL!

I just don't have the patience for that anymore. The vertically oriented pedals being horizontal and the Way Huge looks a little crooked-that stuff bugs me. Also, if I'm playing live, I don't want to be forever stuck at a giant pedalboard. I want to move around and interact with the audience and the rest of the band. Good on those that have that patience though.

The Korg SDD-3000 was the first pedal I wanted for which I was too poor for its entire availability; this has been a frequent experience for a bit more than a decade, with guitars and amps as well, because capitalists care more about short-term profit generation than making good tools available.

Hugest, and most problematic pedalboard I ever saw, was Adam Cole in Bugdust. Every gig, there would be about a 15 minute delay while he was trying to make his board work. Lovely bloke, but seriously........... Warner Hodges would have to come in a close second. Saw him with Dan Baird, his board was way beyond huge. Playing a Les Paul into a pair of Vox AC30s, but about 30 pedals in front? Bass player from Living Colour had a pedalboard that took up most of the stage.

Too much crap on that pedalboard. Why do you need 2 ISP decimators? There's an 808 OD, a Blues driver and an EP Booster... Pick a nice OD/Boost and stick with it. You have a Supa Puss and an SDD-3000. Why do you need 2 delays when the SDD can handle all your delay needs? you could easily replace several of those pedals with a single Eventide H90 and save a ton of weight.
