Seems to be better now. They mainly seem to have changed the internal engine sounds, which had those weird overtones in the low/mid area of the throttle range. You can tell it's still the same samples, but they seem to have filtered out some of the highest overtones of that range. Sounds more coherent to me now :)

Yes it's not "new" sounds like new recordings but adjusted

The sounds not loud enough anymore in this update. Not understand why PMDG not hear that and bring this out then?

There has been a ton of discussion around it saying it was not realistic. I guess it is now but less fun.

@@CaptainKenobiyes they got the startup right where you get that vibration in the cabin and sounds like a few worn bearings but the sound at full throttle sounds weird.

It is just that weird harmonic whine that kills it for me. I know GE90 does sound unique vacuum cleaner sound, like a very huge suction nozzle is siphoning thousand cubics of air in seconds - a very loud outdoor AC condenser unit with a sculpted wide chord fan. In PMDG, it sounds more like a badly tuned digital musical instrument rather than an actual powerful jet engine. Yes, it is quite close to reality, but that harmonic whine definitely requires more editing. It also sounded super annoying when on approach, manipulating the throttle feels like playing a trumpet. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKnXgZWrbr9se6c

Thanks for the video. I think the previous version had way better sounds. I am really missing that roar. Very disappointing for a product in this price range. Last may I flew a 777 as a passenger and that roar was clearly more pronounced.

This plane hasnt, and likely wont, make my hanger. Just have so many aircraft already, and Im an airbus fan and spend most of my time there

Thanks for the comparison. To me it still sounds crap. They only tuned the sound in an equalizer. The 777 deserves new sounds as these are just aweful. The midrange whine is terrible done. AFter the excellent 737 engine sounds i expected better from PMDG. I will skip the 777 because of the sound.
