I'm no one to give advices, but all I can say is: Have fun. It doesn't matter if you don't follow all procedures on the first day, the key is enjoying the sim. Fly what you like, take it slowly and enjoy every step of the process. The level of fidelity, both visual and on systems, that we are getting nowadays is something that was unimaginable not long ago.

In my opinion begin with the tutorials provided by your msfs. It taught me the fundamentals of flying, navigation, and using the controls. I learnt a lot of things like about the apu's, the batteries from the msfs tutorial on the a320neo.Once you get those fundamental concepts right its universal in all airliners which is start those batteries fire up those apu's etc. More complex things can come later. Apart from that keep practicing. It took me around 2 years to fully understand flight simming so with regular practice it comes to you faster and once you understand it its the most beautiful hobby! Finally always engage with online communities and forums. They're great for learning tips, troubleshooting issues, and connecting with fellow enthusiasts. I personally learnt everything about flying airliners on youtube so dont hesitate in asking for help in the comments like I did. Forums like avsim are always helpful, and as someone who is still relatively new to this hobby I can assure you that patience is key. Airliners consist of many components compared to general aviation aircraft so take time be patient and you'll rock I promise! Happy flying everyone! 😀

My advice to flight simmers that want to get into airliners is to do some short touch and go's around an airport and completely handfly it. It will help build up a feel for the handling and give you some good experience.

Flying an airliner in a sim for the first time can be a daunting task. I remember my first time getting to grips with an airliner and my airliner of choice was the MD-80. Yes, the maddog. So I was following a tutorial step by step, it was a lot to take in, finding all the right switches at the right places, filling out the FMC with the right information, starting up the engines and taxiing to the runway. It all went slowly, but correctly until I was going to land the aircraft. I did the one simple mistake that I think is incredibly common for new flight simmers. I let the plane get ahead of me, I was too close to the destination airport, too high and too fast. I foolishly tried to force the aircraft down on to the runway with too much speed, slammed it down and stepped on the brakes but I naturally skidded far off the runway and stopped somewhere in a field. My biggest tip when it comes to flight simulation is to not start with airlines, pick up any other small single prop aircraft and learn the basics of flying. Those basics will stay with you forever and will be valuable to you whatever and wherever the flight simulator hobby takes you, and remember to always have fun. Happy flying :)

My biggest piece of advice I can give to a new flight simmer is just build up from nothing, fly some planes, get the basics right, before the jump. Then, learn how to manually start up, take off, and land. Finally, pick an aircraft you know you'll love and learn and fly it till your heart is content. It worked for me, I my first flight was from Aldergrove to Luton, and I overshot by Calais, I now fly the PMDG 737 with ease all within the space of one year. Also, just have a great time and don't feel too pressured to be realistic .

If you're new to flight sims or tackling an airliner for the first time, here's my top tip: Start small. Mastering a Cessna before jumping into a 737 is like learning to ride a bike before driving a bus-trust me, it helps! Get cozy with the autopilot and FMC; they're your best friends in the cockpit. Join communities like VATSIM where fellow simmers share tips and laughs. And don't worry about mistakes-like the time I was so proud of my perfect takeoff, I forgot to retract the landing gear and flew around with wheels down like a newbie! Enjoy every moment and welcome to the virtual skies!

(My mother language is not English so the comments below may looks a bit weird, say sorry in advance.) Advices for new simmers: Frist one is that when you are flying a modern aircraft when plenty of screens in the cockpit, don't turn on dlss superresolution, which will makes your avionic screens pretty blurry. The second one is that if you want to go deep in flying, learning how to fly general aviation aircrafts is pretty important (like cessna 172 or sr22), because you can know how to make the flying easy with trim, how does vor/dme/ndb work, how to use the basic autopilot, what do some words mean and so on(they can give you the most direct feedback on your input compared to the bigger aircraft), which are quite useful when you go into an airliner cockpit and ready to learn it. Thirdly, don't be shame to ask, almost everyone in the flight simulation community is very nice people, if you have any problems, just ask, and we are very happy to help you solve the problems. Last but not least, don't trun on any assistance option (like AI takeoff), they will do anything but help you flying the aircraft (especially when you are flying the 3rd party complex aircraft like pmdg777) Advices for someone who would be flying an airliner for the first time: Firstly, the modern aircraft doesn't as complex as you think (at least it's easy to fly a whole flight). Just read the manual, watching some tutorial and do the checklist, then you will be safe and sound. You may feel a bit boring after some flight with almost same procedure, that's absolutely normal. At this stage, you can try to learn the aircraft further, like what do the different hydraulic systems do, how to draw some fix on nd and why do pilots always do so, what's the logic of the fly by wire system or autopilot and how to perform approaches other than ILS (like RNP RNPar VOR etc.) You may also become a bit confused when you are diving into these systems for the first time, then the fcom(aka flight crew operation manual) will helps you a lot (which can be found on google) After all of these, you can really say: I know how to fly this aircraft! And that will give you much more happiness than other games can give you. Hope everyone can enjoy the flight.

As I can say from my own experience, watching tutorials can definitely help you get to know a new airliner up to a certain level, but it's much better to explore the plane yourself and learn how to handle it. Videos can only get you so far - the best learning comes from your own experience. Congrats on 30k!

My advice for a new simmer would be to start simple and work your way up to the top. I would suggest doing visual only flying to start with and the instruments covered up so that means you know when you are climbing, descending or staying level

For a new simmer best advice I can give, is to start by flying small aircrafts and have fun by exploring the scenery, then I would recommend u fly an A320neo plane first and of course watch CaptainKenobi and work your way up to different planes like pmdg 737 and give yourself a goal e.g I gave myself a task to fly around the world using software like volanta to track my flights.

The advice I would give to a new simmer is to watch on KZbin a tutorial of an aircraft, take notes with steps one by one with each instructions so you can make a checklist later. I have followed the checklist and the immersion and learning with the sim improves a lot. I did this with most of my flightsim aircrafts. Also I would recommend rechecking yiur steps so you don't make mistakes and have to re-do the flights. I remember my first time making an actual flight on VATSIM. It was so confusing at first, I kept confusing myself with the atc. But after landing I felt I had made an awesome achievement.

First time airliner tips (I would also recommend you start with an airbus due to their high level of automation) 1. Read the Manual! it will explain everything in a text format, and help you get comfortable with the location of the various buttons and switches. 2. Watch a video tutorial, whether from the developer, a livestreamer, etc. It can help contextualize what you've read in the manual and help figure out the flows 3. Follow along with said tutorial (e.g. do the same steps as the creator at the same time, it will help you get more comfortable interacting with the airplane and actually doing the flows) 4. Read the manual again, and don't be afraid to go back and try system flows again. 5. (optional, but strongly recommended). Once you're comfortable with setting up and starting the aircraft, do some basic pattern work without touching the autopilot. practice your takeoffs and landings and handflying the aircraft (which IMO is a lot more fun than A/P) 6. Send it! Airliners, especially modern ones, are not terribly complicated once you understand the basics.

My advice for new flight simmers is quite simple, Just stard a flight at your favoutite airport at any gate with a quite good addon that isnt really expensive like the 736 then !!!USE SIMBRIEF!!! and put in all the information needed and creat a flight watch a tutorial if needed. Then go back to your sim and watch a step by step tutorial for your plane. I recommend using the pmdg 737 or fenix a320 because there fairley easy to learn and use. After you made it and did a full flight try the exxact same thing over and over again until you can make it without a tutorial. and than now you know how to fly a 737 or a320 so if you know a a320 you can fly the a340 without having to learn much because u now know a lot and airbus planes are all quite similar the same with the 737 or 777,757,767,747. I hope i get the 777;) and also hope this comment helped!;) AND dont forget to have fun flying! Happy Landings:)🧑‍✈🥳

Flying an airliner can be a daunting challenge for a new simmer especially for those who just got an interest in aviation. My first flight sim experience was when I was 8 years old when I had a copy of FSX and I was using a cheap laptop using keyboard controls to fly my favorite aircraft, the 747. It was very hard for me to fly but it made me determined that I can fly it properly someday. I had to watch a few 747 videos to learn how to start and fly it, and what controls to use. My advice is to take things slow and not getting too overwhelmed especially on the step by step process. Don’t be afraid to push any buttons and see what works. Also, choose your favorite aircraft first rather than what most people use, because it really helps you get more interested to fly.

Wow great video showcasing this beautiful plane. It may seem incredibly difficult to fly for a new simmer. I thought the same on the PMDG 738 but after some learning and practice I can fly it very easily all over the world. If you’re into airliners I would highly recommend PMDG. They put a lot of work into their planes and it shows.

My advice to first time simmers would be to just try to enjoy the game as much as possible, it’s usually best to know what kind of flights and airliner you prefer and whether you want to be a hardcore simmer or a casual flier. Nice review, I’ve been looking forward to this plane for a while and it’s definitely been worth the wait

Honestly, One thing I think would help people for the first time is to just, have fun first. Get the hang of flying the plane first, Learn how it reacts to your inputs and how it flies in general. But again, Its important to have fun :)

I have a bunch of tips and advice for new flight simmers, especially since I was one not too long ago. I started with X-Plane 11, a brilliant sim of its time and really kickstarted my joy for flying. I would highly recommend that people follow online youtube tutorials of the planes that they want to fly, such as the 737-800 or A320. It is important that people become familiarized with the operations of their planes before they start to fly them on VATSIM, because when I started flying, I jumped straight into VATSIM and had no idea what was going on. It is very important that new simmers also familiarize themselves with aviation terms, such as the military alphabet and zulu times and basic phrases and readbacks for ATC. The most daunting part of online flight simulation is definitely ATC communication, so it is important that people are fluent in English and can interpret ATC quickly. Lastly, it is important to train your muscle memory for things like landing if using a yoke or stick, as it will really help all of your landings to be consistent butter landings, otherwise, you may end up on an AirForceProud95 funniest moments video. Thats all the tips I have for you guys, happy flying!

Thank you for the great and detailed review! My advice: Flying is a great fun. Take your time to accomodate to the airliners. There are a lot of tutorial videos to help learning how to manage for example the a320 that in my case helped a lot to get into this hobby. Handle your yoke/joystick carefully with minimal inputs especially when landing airliners.

As a fellow flight simmer, my best advice to a newcomer is to embrace the learning curve with patience and enthusiasm. Flight simulation can be complex, but that complexity is part of what makes it so rewarding. Start with the basics: familiarize yourself with the aircraft controls, understand the principles of flight, and practice basic maneuvers before diving into more advanced procedures. One funny anecdote from my early days of flight simming involved my first attempt at landing a commercial airliner. After a seemingly perfect approach, I flared too high and ended up bouncing down the runway like a skipping stone. It was a rough and ungraceful "arrival," but it taught me the importance of proper flare technique and the nuances of landing large aircraft. Remember, every mistake is a learning opportunity, and every successful flight is a testament to your growing skills. Enjoy the journey, and happy flying!

If you want to learn to fly an Airliner I would recommend that you start by watching a Tutorial. While watching it you should take notes. The buttons you have to press and everything. Then you take the video and fly while watching it, doing everything like in the video. After that you should do a lot of short practice flights with the list you made. Then after a while you can fly the plane without the list like a true pilot.

I used to struggle so much with flying in real life and in the simulator. What changed everything was learning mnemonics which gives you the chance to be able to fly more professionally and helps avoid so many mistakes as it should cover fundamentals that slip the mind when a lot is going on, for example I use(don’t judge me)😂😂🙈: Big Jets Love Scary Landings: • B - Briefing • J - Join final approach • L - Landing gear down • S - Set appropriate speed • L - Lights on • S - Stabilize approach • C - Complete checklist • L - Listen to ATC • A - Approach carefully • N - Navigate accurately • D - Descend safely

As a new simmer, my best advice is to start small and gradually work your way up, just like in the real world. Begin with small aircraft like the Cessna 152 or 172 and move on to more complex planes as you gain experience. Once you're familiar with your aircraft, try flying on VATSIM to further improve your skills and gain realistic flight experience. If you're starting to fly an airliner, make sure to watch KZbin videos that explain every button and function of the aircraft. Channels like Captain Joe or Pilot Pascal provide excellent content to help you understand and apply aviation knowledge. Cheers!

My advice for any new simmers getting into airliners is that it's best to watch tutorials and learn by doing. It took me some time to learn and I made a lot of mistakes, but I learned from them, which is why I got better with every flight, so take your time. Also, just always be confident and never give up, once you are ready you can join Vatsim to get the full realistic experience. I remember my first time on Vatsim, my voice was shaking, I had to ask the tower several times what he said and much more, but in the end it was still fun and looking back now, it was the best idea to start.

I don't think I should give advice, but there are a few things that helped me understand complex aircrafts. First and most important was reading manuals. This can be quite boring sometimes so you can fire up the sim and try everything you learn about right away! The second thing was doing circuits. It helps a lot getting a feel for the manual controls. Every aircraft feels different and it takes a few hours of handflying to get used to.

This is less about simulation and more about actual airline piloting. I am an aspiring pilot myself and one of the best pieces of wisdom I’ve heard was that as a pilot, instead of your office being a small cubicle in a bland building, your office is thousands of feet above the clouds, and that really did it for me. I guess for professional simmers or simulation content creators, the cockpit is also their office so in a way, the same wisdom applies in a totally different way.

The best advice i have for someone trying a flight sim for the first time would be to start out small, when you first jump into the sim and look at all the planes the big airliners will probably seem the coolest but they are also the most complex. Start out small with a Cessna 172 or 152 and takeoff at your local airport or airfield and try out the controls to see what happens, see what the different switches do and how they inpact on your flight. Once you understand the smaller aircrafts is when you can start to move on to some bigger ones. I almost forgot the most important thing, have fun and good luck!

If I had to give one piece of advice to any new simmers getting into airliners, it would be to not get intimidated and to stay determined. I started simming in 2021 and honestly had no idea what I was doing. After feeling intimidated by the sheer amount of things that I would have to learn, I stopped flight simming for about a year, until the PMDG 737 was released. This reignited my love for flight simulation and flying in general, so I purchased the aircraft. I then overcame the intimidation by slowly watching videos and reading manuals on the aircraft learning how to read charts and the types of approaches. Then within 2-4 months from not knowing a thing about these airliners I was shooting approaches into Toncontin and Paro, knew how to fly different aircraft such as the A320 and even decided that flying was the career that I wanted to pursue after really struggling with that decision! That feeling of pride that you have after completing your first ILS landing is truly a great one, and something that I won't forget (even if it is just a flight simulator). Being able to recognise and in a way connect to the aircraft that you fly on in real life it is also amazing! Especially knowing what is happening in the flight deck and what the pilot's POV is like. Flight simulation has also allowed me to make many friends who share the same interests as me, and is honestly one of the best things that I have ever gotten into haha. Hopefully someone reading this will also share the same experience in the very near future! Trust me, now is an absolutely perfect time to get started, there are many exciting things to come for us flight simmers!! ✈✈

I am pretty recent to flight sim but after a few 100 hours of experience, my biggest advice is probably just to do what you enjoy, not everyone is always in the mood or has the time to do all the procedures and thats ok, just need to have fun and do what you enjoy and ignore other people's opinions. It is still a form of entertainment after all.

My best advice is to challenge yourself. Of course the goal of flight sim for many is to have fun, but one of my favorite things to do is learn new things and challenge my skills. When I started with flight sim, I spent a lot of time messing around with airplanes and doing fun tricks, but once I started to invest time into learning the systems and procedures of the real world it became a lot more engaging. Maybe it could even translate to the real world too.

For new players!!! I have a few tips! At first watch this channel, it really helped me alot with buying airplanes and airliners for xbox and pc. Also try to find tutorials on the aircraft you want to fly, This really helps! In the beginning its really hard because everything is new! But dont give up. With a few video's you will fly like a pro :) Also buy a plane from pmdg. It really helped me a lot with flying realistic i know a pilot he said that its just like real life. Also a funny moment from me :) the first i bought the game with my brithday money i was really exited to play a flightsim. But that lasted a bit short. The first time i flew i was so mad that things did not work out that i even deleted the game it was late at night and i was tired, i flew with a DA42, one egine working and the other one was not working. I also flew with keyboard really hard;😂 But i tried again and now things work! So when you fly for the first time dont give up, I would recommand a yoke it makes flying way more easy and ofc watch this channel if you want to learn something every day :) Greetings Martijn

My advice is, try to learn the aircraft. Learn the switches. Learn the start up procedure. It might take a little bit before you fly but learning the aircraft is such an important part to being able to fly it. Once you know where and what each button does you can focus on flying it. Once you get in the air, have fun with it. Try some circuits, learn to maneuver it. You then can keep adding on the layers till you’re flying your virtual pax to their destinations.

For anyone looking to start to play with a airliner in FSIM, I would strongly recomend to start first with the Airbus A320 v1 because it has lesser systems to pay attention, but enough depth with some of them to go a bit further. Them try the Boeing 747 or 787 that are not also in depth, but have a lot of differences just because they are from another manufacturer (start up, flight computer, auto pilot, etc). Look to learn it all, specially the flight computer for procedures like ILS and RNAV approachs and go arounds and how to use simbrief for flight planning, there is a lot of good airline pilot youtubers that can help with that. Than you are ready to go for a in depth airliner like Airbus A320 v2 or PMDG 737 or 777. Personally I prefer PMDG (I prefer boeing planes cockpits schemes and PMDG has a lot of customization options and good manuals) but if you can, try both, because even among pilots there is a lot of reasons to prefer one or another.

Well, honestly, just have fun. I'm personally what you'd call a "hardcore" simmer. I love flying as realistically as possible following real word procedures, flying on vatsim, etc. But as we know that's not everyones cup of tea! If you enjoy just casually flyin' around, go ahead! I, just like kenobi, believe that's something asobo has accomplished with msfs, anyone with a bit of interest in aviation can enjoy it, in whatever way they feel like doin' it. I started out with a piper in xplane, I knew what I wanted to get out of fligtsimming so I took the route I knew would work for me, starting small and workin' my way up. You might aswell jump straight into an airliner, it's a game at the end of the day, do whatever the hell you want. My advice? Have fun, whatever fun means to you. Nobody's here to judge.

My advice to first time simmers is that it’s fine if things aren’t going the way you want at first. Watch tutorials, read manuals, practice flying circuits in the aircraft you want to master it will take practice but eventually you will be able to master the aircraft that you had trouble at the start. Also start with the default aircraft’s as they don’t go really in depth with the systems and it’s perfect for starting out then as you feel more confident in yourself then try third party aircraft’s as they will go more ind depth and you will learn more than what you could if it was a default aircraft.

My advice for new simmers, when you start your simulation, head your mind to true information, and firstly chose a plane to learn how it flies, and works, and then go foward to another plane, learning the basic of flight it´s essential, practice procedures will lead them to a big flight experience.

My advice would probably be not to get frustrated, learning the Fenix, PMDG 737’s, ATR’s and other planes were super annoying at first but as soon as I understood the general flow it I could do it in my sleep, there is so many awesome planes to take advantage of for a great experience if you give the time.

In my opinion here are some of the most important things when beginning to learn flightsim. Of course you should start with getting the right simulator. There are a phew to pick from. For me personally it was x plane 11. Then I moved on to MSFS. Either one of them is great for beginners in my opinion but MSFS might just be a little less complicated when it comes to configuration of all the settings. Then the question is what aircraft you should begin with. I think that you should begin with a plane that has an exceptional level of detail because you do not want to try and learn to fly on a broken plane. It is also a good idea to begin with a smaller single engine plane like the Cessna 152 or 172. They are easier to fly and learn. If you fly in MSFS there are a lot of training flights to do to practice. Now when you have choose the plane to begin with you need to learn it. As I said earlier if you have MSFS there are a lot of training flights but that might not be enough to really get a good sense of what you’re doing. I was in the beginning learning everything from KZbin which works… but it is so much better to have someone to ask. Mabel get in contact with a real pilot, or just stick to the KZbin tutorials. When feel that you are done with the small plane you can move on. You can move on to a bigger multi engine aircraft or go straight to the airliners if you wish so. There are a lot of amazing tutorials online on how to fly the airliners like the Boeing 737 or the a 320 online. What I do sometimes is that I watch some tutorials and weight down what to do step by step. Then that is like a little instruction on how to fly the plane. After a couple of flights you will get the hang of it without the instruction. When you know the basics on how to fly the plane you can move on and fly it more complex with checklists for example. You can start doing small things such as briefings and PA announcements just to get more immersed. When you feel that you want to move on to the next airliner you can do so. It is fun to have some variation in the sim and not always fly the same plane. You can also start getting scenery addons and other addons the likes of gsx to increase immersion. And then everything will start going smoothly. Hope I helped. Happy flying! congrats \o/

My addvice is to watch a lot of youtube videos on how to fly a plane you want to learn. Find a flight sim youtuber who is preferably a real world pilot and watch his videos while having your own sim running and repeat after him. That's the way I learned to fly the airliners. As for the planes to start with I recommend starting with b737 or a320 from PMDG/Fenix. When you master those two, you will easily learn how to fly everything else aswell.

My advice for someone wanting to get into airliners, would be to first of all start with the airbus a320 as it's freely accessible and not too hard to fly, and too watch tutorials for using the FMC/MCDU as if you learn to use that, your flights become way more realistic and enjoyable. Another thing is too do some circuits in an airliner in your own time to practice taking off and landing such an aircraft.

A friend of mine suffers from a fear of flying. I invited her to a flight with the PMDG 737 on my PC and let her make many of the settings herself. Thanks to the excellent implementation, I was able to show her, for example, what noises to expect or what is happening on the wings. Unfortunately, her fear of flying has not gone away, but she said that she has become much calmer now that she has a better understanding of what happens during the flight.

My advise for new Flightsimpilots would be that practising handflying the airplane is the most important thing that you can do. So just spawn into a airport and do some Touch and Go´s. The second thing would be that understanding the airplanes systems is key to be able to control a plane properly. You should also not just fly one airplane type and consider buying a plane like the Fenix A320 or the PMDG 737 to have in depth systems to learn flying with. It definetely takes practice to learn all of these things but in the end it really pays off when you sit infront of your PC or Xbox and fly a plane at 37000 feet into a sunset. Hope that helps all of you. Cheers🥂and happy flying : ) Great video by the way😉

Another piece of advice is to practice, your landings may not be great in the start, but if you practice then you will improve, but don't give up. My advice for flight simming beginners is to start out easy, and find your way slowly but surely to professionality. Of course this Journey varies for everybody, some learn fast, some Slow. Do not hessitate or get frustrated if you fail, you learn from these failures. After you are sure that you have atleast mastered advanced levels, you can progress and Download Programms like vatsim, gsx, fsltl, etc. to make your flight simming experience more realistic. Always be confident of yourself and one day, youll be a true professional. My personal Experience for the First time on vatsim was quite funny. I couldnt read back my clearance correctly, Didnt know the taxiways, but I still had fun considering I was talking to real people. Anyways, just be confident, and have fun. My biggest tip would be to always start flying the single engine props before airliners. This is because when l first started flying l immediately jumped into the FBW A320. This plane is great for a first AIRLINER but not a first plane. I found this out the hard way when it was trying to fly an ILS approach as my very first landing. And you can probably imaging how that went.😅 So please if you are learning start with the beautiful cezna 152 for learning the basics and how to land.

Flying a airline or generally a plane IRL or in the sim can be a breathtaking experience. It can feel hard stress full and over whelming. but what you have to remember is that you need to be one with the plane like a samurai is one with his katana. you need to use all your sense to fly. the feeling of the plane in your hands, the view you have off the instruments and out the window and most importantly the sounds like what the air traffic controller is telling you. is key. And remember "fly the Plane, everything else comes second"

From my experience in the flight sim, my advice is simple, start with the basics, practice patience, use resources like tutorials, pay attention to detail, and enjoy the adventure-whether in simulators or real flights; and remember, even mishaps like an accidental barrel roll during a stormy landing in a simulator can be valuable learning experiences! But the most important would be to have fun. Without fun, you wont learn as much as well as not having a good experience. Great video btw!

My advice for flying with an airliner is start of short flights, get use to your aircraft type (there are plenty of useful videos you can learn from on KZbin). Practicing shorter flights give you more flights to do in a short span of time which helps you get to know the aircraft better and feel more comfortable. Practicing with the A Pilot’s Life amazing realistic flight schedules can boost your confidence more as well. Everyone has had difficulties in the beginning, no need to be hard on yourself, be patient.

A lot of people who are just starting in flight simming think that they should get on their hands right away on tutorials and learn IFR flights and fly the airplane like in real-life. The thing is besides learning the aircraft systems, you also need to practice your yoke inputs, rudder inputs etc. while also watching the tutorial setting up the approach mode you are planning to use bla bla. Just forget about these systems, start your flight on a runway and just throttle it up, fly it as you want. Maybe it will feel un-realistic but more you fly it more you get used to it, vice versa. Just be yourself and dont forget to have fun.

My advice to new flight simmers is to not get frustrated when things don’t work out as planned in the sim… Airliners, especially those from PMDG with a high level of detail can be really frustrating sometimes. Not understanding why the plane is behaving one way or the other, or not fully understanding how a system works can be hard and frustrating to work with and the most important thing to remember in that case is not to give up. The point will come, when all that is understood or you find ways to inform yourself on how to fix those issues. Dont let anything get in the way of your passion!

My advice is to take it slow and savor the enjoyment of flying a new addon aircraft! Learn what you can and focus on enjoying the aircraft, because it’s not much fun when you stress about learning every minute detail of an extremely complex plane. Stepping into an airliner in a flight sim can be overwhelming and daunting, but it’s a very rewarding and enjoyable experience once you learn the basics on how to operate the aircraft. I’ve been a flight simmer since MSFS 2020 released and it’s been an extraordinary journey for me, and has even helped me with my real life flying and training! I hope this is useful to anyone who may have stumbled across this and I hope to be picked for the giveaway 🤞 If I don’t win I’ll be sure to purchase the 777-300ER anyway, as I, like many other flight simmers have been awaiting this one for a while 😆

Apart from that remember that not every flight is perfect and its okay to make mistakes what matter is that you learn from them and try to have fun while at it.

My advice to someone getting their feet wet for the first time with an airliner, and I'm gonna assume a PMDG airliner, is this: Yes you have to start with the manuals, but just reading the manuals can be vary daunting and overwhelming at the onset, so I would say, start with the tutorial, The PMDG's own tutorial. This is usually a flight from point A to point B. Also watch the corresponding video tutorial when it gets published. You'll understand the manuals much better after reading and watching the tutorial. Then watch the numerous videos on KZbin concerning the aircraft. Start little by little. The temptation to just get the blessed aircraft in the air will be there and very palpable lol, so go ahead and take that first flight, but get ready to be frustrated. Don't stay there though. After that initial guaranteed frustration, get to the tutorials and videos, and little by little, today, setups, tomorrow, taxiing around, because this is a loooong aircraft, you don't wanna be taxiing like a civic. You gotta think 18-wheeler x 10. Goodluck!

When you’re just starting out with flight simulation or flying an airliner for the first time, remember: it’s all about patience and persistence. One of the best pieces of advice I can give is to embrace the learning curve. Don’t be discouraged by the complexity or your initial mistakes; every experienced simmer has been there. First time Airliner tip: When you start out as an Airliner Pilot, always take note of how your real flying experience as a passenger was(if you had been on a commercial jetliner before) or if you are a frequent observer watching planes takeoff and land. This way you can understand alot about them as to how they fly in real life. With such observation and dedication, flying a modern commercial Airliner won't be hard for you since you are interested and dedicated to it. Watch flightsimmers stream and upload videos of Airliner operations to get a hint and idea on how to fly the bird in your sim. Most of the time it helps and otherwise you can learn them on your own with concurrent flying experience by getting used to the plane in the Sim.Always remember that your first flight may be not perfect, but you are always getting closer to that perfect level flight with time and effort. -Akash Prakash

Best advice I can give new flight simmers is to think of every simulator software (X-Plane, MSFS, DCS, IL-2, etc.) like riding unique bikes for the first time. Each simulator has different things that make it special and advantageous to the niches they endorse. While trying each one you will fall off, get discouraged & get many bumps & bruises along the way. However, with repetition & in-depth learning you will only get better & better & these bumps & bruises will be scars of admiration & fulfillment. Use the enlightened sim community to your advantage, have fun, and eventually you will riding high & embarking on new adventures that only existed in dreams ;)
