You guys make it look so easy to build cars. I know it's not, but that shows how good you are at it. Spoons fab work has transformed what Jimmy can do in a short space of time now. Love it

That AC component you were referring to as the evaporator is a receiver drier (filter). The evaporator is under the dash, and please replace your AC O-rings
@TheRYDENCUSTOMS Жыл бұрын
and this componet should also be replaced any time the ac system taken apart like this, the oil inside attracts dirt and with it open it could cause a failure in the a/c system later if its full of trash

Ok the round thing you called the evaporator is actually the filter dryer. Please replace that. It’s full of moisture after being opened up and will not do the job it’s intended to do and cause severe problems in the near future.

Never heard of vapor honing before so thank you for that little tidbit. But that’s your dryer/receiver. Your evaporator is in the big, ugly OE HVAC box that usually sits on the passenger side of the bulkhead (firewall).

On wiring harness re-dressing use 3-M Scotch rubber splicing tape. It's self-fusing so there's no adhesive at all, it stretches to fit any abnormal joints, takes heat well and can make a waterproof seal, also it's flat black and looks really good! A bit pricy at 39 bucks for 30 ft roll but goes a long way because of how you stretch it tight to get it to bond with itself. Once I started using it, I've never used any other kind of regular electrical tape.

12:30 SIR THATS THE DRIER 😂😂😂 the evaporator is in the actual A/c box behind the dash, it’s a little mini radiator, Refrigerant flows through the evaporator and air blows through the fins from the blower motor which gives you the cold air, heater core is the same thing but hot coolant is flowing through it rather than refrigerant
@gateaccess818 Жыл бұрын
@10:24 that is where im at currently. car is hovercraft status. onjackstands, no motor or drive line, no suspension,. no subframes, electrical harnesses, just a floating shell that just got rear quarter chopped and swapped and engine bay fully shaved. im refinishing the unddrside now. removing under caoting and then fixing any rust spots, sealing and then re-undercaoting. im so fn stoked to be able to get car underside reassembled soi can just get her down on her own 4 wheels again will be my biggest motivator. will still need full paint respray. but atleast the underside will be completley done. alrady refreshed the subframes front and rear and just did the gas tank. finalizing rust and seams and undercaotings now. fuckkkk sooooo much work.! the rabbit hole is real!

There was a bolt for the headlight on the fender side too, not sure if you got that one or not The thing you called an evaporator is the dryer, and they should be replaced if you ever open the system. There's oil in there, and the old stuff is not compatible with the new stuff. To do it totally correct, you should replace the evaporator and regulator in the dash, the dryer, the condenser, and the compressor. You can flush every thing but the condenser and evaporator both need to be back purged. The regulator and dryer need to be replaced. Sonic203 found a great universal kit for Hondas that would probably also work for this.

Jim, if you have two holes horizontal, but need to zip tie something to them vertically (like you was doing with the harness), just tighten a zip tie through the holes and then tie another zip tie through it, to hold whatever you holding. That way you don't have no "weird" diagonal zip tie, holding the harness all weird... gosh I hope that makes sense.
