As an American of Mexican descent I am ashamed and appalled by these demonstrations. My parents waited years to get their green cards to permanently move to California then worked to become naturalized citizens. Yes, my father came to the U.S. on a work visa and worked the fields in Bakersfield before he got his green card, but he never overstayed his allotted time to work. He wanted to legally become a resident so as to not worry about deportation. This demonstration is a proverbial spit on his face. Truly shameful.

Heck the majority of European ancestry in the U.S. comes from Germany. No German flags about. Last but not least when Europeans migrated to America in the 1800s-1900s across an ocean they came legally and worked legally. Elise Island in New York is special because of that. As a Mexican American I’m proud of my Ancestors and their Sacrifices to get us to America 🇺🇸 for a better life and future, the USA isn’t perfect but it’s still a safer and better opportunities for everyone, I have friends and family that have been deported to Mexico and Central America I communicate with them and they are struggling to make ends meet and they wish they could come back to the USA 🇺🇸 Mexico and Central American Countries don’t have nothing to offer them or jobs to be able to afford the lifestyle they had in the USA, I agree with most of the comments the flags they should be waving are American Flags to show their Solidarity and respect for the Country and their desire to live here The people that organize the protest should make it mandatory to have the American Flag 🇺🇸 also

Im Latino , the thing is I didn’t see nobody protest when kids are going missing in the border so far the count is 325 thousand that we know off , nobody protested when little girls , teens , adults were getting raped , people robbed or killed .
