Bakhmut was founded under Ivan the Terrible in the Moscow Kingdom. This city turned out to be in Ukraine during the formation of the Ukrainian SSR at the expense of the territory of Russia (as well as Avdiivka, Mariupol, Nikolaev, Odessa). Again, an administrative oversight that resulted in a war today.

I don’t know why it’s so crazy. People are still shooting bullets and artillery at one another. The best way to survive that is to be in a trench or underground. Everyone models their perception of modern warfare based on the US invasion of Iraq, but that was not the rule for modern warfare, it was the exception. Iraq is largely desert which cannot be easily fortified and lacks concealment. That greatly amplifies the effectiveness of precision munitions because the enemy has nowhere to hide. Plus, the Iraqis had no will to fight and unlike Russia, the US had no qualms about targeting the enemy’s leadership.

The situation on the front is catastrophic (this fact was admitted even by BBC in an article: "Ukraine war: Soldier tells BBC of front-line 'hell'".) Well, it's a quote from The Time article. Zelenskyy top advisers say about him: “He deludes himself, ” one of his closest aides tells me in frustration. “We’re out of options. We’re not winning. But try telling him that. It is immovable, verging on the messianic. ” One Austrian artist was in a similar state in 1945. Zelenskyy "achievements" to date: 500,000 Ukrainians are dead, 3x that mangled and crippled for life, half of Ukraine's population is living as refugees scattered all over Europe and Russia right now, they're drafting women because they've run out of men to kidnap off the streets . Zelenskyy and his minions should be brought to justice in Nuremberg 2.0. It would be a fresh lesson of accountability for all future war criminals around the world.

Military objects are often directed by political reasons. Russia's entire SMO is based on politics. It can probably be argued that Russia's offensive at Bakhmut was more of a political objective than it was a military objective. Now we have Avdiivka. The Russian military was likely ordered by Putin and the Russian politicians to make an offensive in the fall of 2023. Military planners choose Avdiivka (there is a chance that politicians chose the target) as the most likely area of success for an operation. That was 9 weeks ago, and after 9 weeks the Russian military has suffered heavily with very little to show for it. Everybody in the world who follows the Ukraine-Russia conflict likely knows about the ongoing battle for Avdiivka by now. That complicates things for Russia, because now the outcome of the battle is more than just a military objective. It also becomes a political one. Ukraine's failed counter offensive allowed Russia to make claims that Ukraine was on the verge of defeat and that continued support from the West to Ukraine would be wasted. However, if Ukraine is able to hold Avdiivka, then that would spit in the face of the Russian narrative of Ukraine being doomed. Which is why Russian politicians may demand that their military continues to assault the town. Failing at Avdiivka may now be unacceptable to the Russian politicians, regardless of military realities. This is mostly me theorycrafting the situation in Avdiivka but it must be said that Russia is just as capable of falling into taking unnecessary losses due to political miscalculations as Ukraine is.
@ACitizenOfEarth
@ACitizenOfEarth 5 ай бұрын
@@Kevik70 Well, it's true that both sides are heavily influenced by political decisions. Your theory-crafting certainly highlights the vulnerability to frontline failures. The abundance of false or misleading information from all involved parties makes it challenging to draw accurate conclusions regarding losses, territorial gains, etc. But here is my train of thought: the Russian military has evolved since the war's inception. Employing a strategy of attrition, they can capitalize on the concept "time is on our side" in case of any challenge. Their current position in the informational war seems stronger as well as from provisions and economical perspective. 2022 was, indeed, their example of unnecessary losses. Presently, it seems they aim to set objectives without precipitating unnecessary loss of life, which they don't really care much about, but they do try to be effective this time. In brief, yes - the outcome has become even more valuable. But I don't believe they would employ reckless political strategies. And yet it is possible their approach might involve sending additional artillery, aviation or even the prisoners to the area in the event of severe consequences. Avdiivka's operation from the Russian side is to attract the enemy power and resources after all, not simply to capture the city itself. And everybody understands it. Of course, I merely mentioned some of my theories as well. No one can know for sure. I've just compared current times with the historical moments anyway.

Just watched Lazer pigs video on the gorgonzola round table again and what a comedic masterpiece, but i completely forgot you were featured in that video and when i came across your channel just took you for a blatant Russian propogandist. but i have to say something, you stood out as the most clear headed and non delusional one of them all, you pointed out that himars out classes the schmerch and really didn't push blind kremlinism like the others bizarrly did. So i really do commend you for that. Also admitting your mistake about the cost of himars 6mil vs 400mil or whatever it was. I appreciate that too. It says something that a kid seriously made those grown ass men look like fools in comparison. And while i talk shit about your takes on the war, we're all entitled to our opinions and ideals, i myself am an admirer of some aspects of the Russian state myself, although i deeply condemn there action into Ukraine, it's a horrible waste of human lives in both sides, i also condemn greatly the utter disregard for human costs by the Russian state especially there own citizens, what i admire is the will of the Russian people to survive hardship, the talent of the Russian industrial complex to produce capable and impressive machines, and the colorful history and honor that believe it or not does exist in Russias past. So take this as my apology for talking shit on so many of your videos, i do believe your doing harm in leading people to believe Russia has a sustainable momentum, and pushing inaccurate figures of losses and territory. But in the end your just being optimistic about the war for the regime you happen to believe in. And i really can't condemn that. But it's fucked up what Russia is doing and i don't see how you can have faith in a regime that has zero regard for the lives of its own people in and out of war time. The corruption and incompetence that has been seen so far is down right insedious, you may be a product of the atmosphere in Russia just as Russias disregard for human life comes from millenia of blood spilled in defence of there land and culture. But you don't have to blindly commit to bolstering there lies. I condemn the United States for its failures just as i as a man admit my mistakes. I have the impression that Ukraine has decided that it will let the region east of the canal and west of Bakmut fall since it cannot defend everywhere, and the canal will provide a better defensive line. They are committed to delaying Avdiivka, even though that is just a trap for the graves of Ukrainian men. It cannot be easily supplied because it is almost completely surrounded (remember the west celebrating the supposed semi-encirclement of Bakmut which was not even half an encirclement), so that the men in the city will be short of supplies, and that just makes it easier for the Russians. Plus the southern/eastern part that Ukraine holds in that city is far from artillery support making it even more deadly for Ukrainian men there. From what I understand the Russians now control all of the H20 highway east of Avdiivka, which will make supplying the north even easier, especially since Ukrainian artillery is so far away from that road. Avdiivka is a death trap and the Ukrainians are pouring more men into it everyday, making it easier for the Russians on other fronts. Even worse, the elite Marine brigades that have been so responsible for the limited Ukrainian success are dying every day in the death trap that Ukraine arranged on the east and west bank of the Dnieper. What idiots did Ukraine put in charge of this war.

Early Russian failures were to be expected if you look at the grand picture of history. Being so hyped up about Ukrainian success early in the war, now it seems to me that Russian doctrine and experience is growing, similar to WW2. Modern war is definitely much more than that but it seems Ruskis are getting the hang of it more and more. Ukrainian resistance is really tough tho and I watch their helmet cams, so resilient. This is indeed looking more and more like der endlose krieg, the endless war.

Absolutly! Early russian failures were to be expected. Of course you sacrifice your best troops first. Than you go to your prisons and send in the untrained cannon fodder. Than you sink your flagship against an enemy with no navy. Than you do the standard war move of a "goodwill gesture" and move the not killed parts of your army away from enemies capital. Than you make some more goodwill gestures in the Charkiv and Cherson area. Why protect the super important brigde that connects Crimea and Russia? Then you start using tanks from 1950s, because why not?! All these dead russian tank crews are only early russian failures, correct? You hardly use your (on paper) strong air force, because air superiotity is for pussies anyway ... tell me: When do these "early russian failures" stop? When can we expect professionalism? Is it professional to ask North Korea for old non working ammunitions? Or Iran for more drones - which are shut down with the likelyhood of over 98%? Where is the Kinschal, Patriot defense system only shut down a few of these so far? Where are the ultra high tech T-14 Armata tanks. Russia invested billions of rubles for the development of these state of the art tanks?

This whole war in Ukraine already started on February 9, 1990 when U.S. Secretary of State James Baker’s spoke his famous words “not one inch eastward” the assurance about NATO expansion in his meeting with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, which was part of a cascade of assurances about Soviet security given by Western leaders to Gorbachev and other Soviet officials throughout the process of German unification in 1990 and on into 1991. As we all know NATO did not keep their word and kept crawling like a snake closer and closer to the border of Russia. Russia kept warning NATO to stay away, but NATO did not listen. On February 24th, 2022 the Russian bear taught NATO a little lesson. President Biden has left Ukraine with his tail between his legs....Just like in Afghanistan, perhaps he will have more succes with the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza...

Russians also launch offensive in Robotnye and closing in to recaptured it from Ukrainian Hand's. The Russians seems are change their tactics not only they launch of waves of armored vehicle, and tanks attack undercover of MLRS, FPV, Kamikaze UGV, Kamikaze Drones, small sorties of airstrikes, Infantry and Artillery. but todays the Russians increasing their sorties of airstrikes by using Cluster, their Biggest Glide Bomb and Smart bomb and not only that the Russians also starting to use standoff Cruise Missile. And i think sooner or later the Russians also will likely start to produce Iranian UCAV like Mohajer 10, Ababil 4 and Shahed 149 along with its weaponary and cheap Iranian and NK Ballistic Missile

Russians already have Orion (aka Inohodets), Forpost and others. They were there since day 1 of the conflict, the problem is that they are too large and vulnerable to AA. The same reason we haven't heard about notorious Bayraktars for quite a while.

@@user-wm1lx7eo8z the problem is Orion are fly too low and then too slow than Ababil 4, Shaheed 149, or Mohajer 10 its the problem why it were easily detected by the Ukrainian. In other hand Shahed 149, Mohajer 10 and Ababil 4 are already armed with some kind long range missile that Iranian copy it from Hellfire and Spike LR so it can be launch from savest area and reach the target before enemy realize it

@@paijofaishal5123 I'm afraid they would still be an easy target for modern AA. That's why they are mostly used against inferior opponents. Near peer conflict forces to use drone swarms to break through defenses instead of large plane-like drones.

@@user-wm1lx7eo8z as far as i know the area near the Ukrainians front lines weren't covered by any of SAM. And thats why the reason how Russians are freely uses Su-34, Su-25 and even Attack Helicopter like Mi-28 and KA-25 to destroy enemy positions before deploying any ground troops into the area. Perhaps there is Manpads or AA Gun like Germans made Gepard or ZSU but it were useless if the range of its target is over than 5.5km and Iranian newest Drones like Shahed 149 and Mohajer 10 is also drones that can fly in high altitude and have Environmental monitoring within a radius of 500 km and can be equipped by Qaem-114 that can destroy the target in 11km of range, while Almas Missile that was copy of Israeli Spike have range 8km and there is also some issues that missile were already had the fire and forget feature.
