I think it would be cool to have F key binds to switch from navigation and other interactions somehow. I know a lot of low to mid players that feel intimidated needing to use keys in higher level combat. This could make a lower stakes way to get comfortable using the keyboard, but only for skilling efficiency

I really hope playing as a "team" on a ship can be fun and beneficial as an iron :) rather than just sailing to the destination yourself Also I feel like there is no way we don't get a giant ocean kraken to kill with cannons from the boat or something, the possibilities are endless here I'm excited

6:05 runelite uses the java engine so the majority of the playerbase is still using java atm

Wish the updates were focused on new mid to near endgame bosses. The more i hear about this the more i fear sailing is just going to be another barb assault, something you have to do but is never touched again. I like tge ambition from jagex but i see this dying out quick

I think everything sounds solid the only things i hope to see eventually are the implementation of diving with the breathing apparatus, randomized combat events or randomized dungeons & also a vast customization system for each individual vessel(imagine a brewery or a farm plot, or training dummies) for example. Also procedurally genorated small islands with recourses at least in the pvp areas where the islands are contestable.

holy shit imagine a raid boss that flys over the citys, and like you could be at ge doing something and some someones raid boss flys overhead you just hear them dying to the boss

I just watched a interview they said they dont want it to be a mini game or just another skill but if ive learned anything from expansions or updates in a mmo is its gonna be 1/100 what it should be

Sailing is by far the dumbest thing osrs will ever get, beats the purpose of being old school, I would prefer the other skill they had on the poll

Am I the only one that wants to keep old school "OLD school"? I don't want any more slow annoying skills on the way to maxing, it's already taking years. Just add bosses, quests, areas, but not skills. This is an update only appeals to already maxed mains with 12 hours a day to play and casual players with no goals in mind

@@poleythepolarbear9706 I'm not knocking casuals 😂 I'm literally a casual myself. I'm saying the people who want sailing are either out of goals because they completed the game mostly or they don't really care about doing anything specific or goal oriented on the game. I'm not personally attacking them, I'm saying there are a lot of people who don't want this update because it doesn't fit the game, only the minority with the loudest voice in the community want it. Why so triggered?

agreed, the player base is a bunch of old farts with jobs and families and sailing is a heavy thing to put on them when their time is already so limited. I personally don’t want another skill. but i see why jagex is pushing it as a business to bring some vitality to the game in hopes to draw in a new and younger crowd of people.
