So cool man. I’m a beer and whiskey man while I hobby and while cutting some insulation foam I sliced the skin off my knuckle. The good thing is I was too numb from alcohol to notice. It wasn’t until I saw the splashes of blood on the foam that I realised something was amiss.

I've also found that staining the wood works well, as a substitute for paint. Keeps from obscuring all that lovely wood grain, too. If folks out there have cans of wood stain lying around, it can save money on paint. (You'll probably need gloves and ventilation, though).
@dicedrinksanddadjokes11 ай бұрын
Yeah that’s a good shout. I actually had a go doing that with some left over stain but then realised it was gloss! 🤦♂️😆 Shiny planks kinda ruins the look! It was also a pain trying to stop them from sticking to everything while drying.
@antigrav600411 ай бұрын
This looks fantastic. the biggest issue i've had with these gangplanks connecting terrain pieces when i've made them is that minis can easily fall off if they aren't anchored. my solution might be hiding some magnets in the bigger pieces and painting some metal on the ends of each connecting bridge so they have a strong enough pull, but not so strong as you can't seperate them.
@dicedrinksanddadjokes11 ай бұрын
Yeah that's a good shout. When I first started making this I had the mental idea of magnetising all the platforms so that I could remove them in game for the special rule of them collapsing. The connecting bridges are the weakest link though for sure. I'm thinking about glueing little bits of wire to the ends of them which can be bent to hold onto the terrain pieces. We shall see how well that works out!

What a lot of work but in the end there will be an awesome gaming board. I'd be interested in a battle report especially to see how a battle can be played on these several floors. A little tip for future wood planks: Using a wire brush on the planks is adding a lot more charakter on the wood, especially with drybrushing.
