Hi, I am building this and following the instructions, thank you for the video. Quick question at 6 min 48 second to 53 second mark you mention spraying the board with "isopropyl alcohol and then mat sealant" ---what is mat sealant?

I have another video showing how to make it. It’s basically watered down mod podge but you could also use watered down white glue with a little varnish. Or pay the dollars for a commercial version.

I've tried that "clamp a hand-held hotwire and faff about with wood bit risers in lieu of a proxxon technique" (I'll have to think of a shorter name) and it does work, but yeah it's a pain in the butt. Nowadays I glue paper circle templates to some Readi-Board and cut enough out with my hobby knife to stack to the thickness I need. But you have to clad the edges somehow or it looks a bit shyte. I've seen people use broken table saws as a foundation for a bodge-up tabletop hotwire, resulting in the least compact proxxon-adjacent clone ever created.
@dicedrinksanddadjokes
@dicedrinksanddadjokes 3 күн бұрын
FAHWC? Short for "Faff about hotwire cutter" Honestly love my proxxon so much! Was a hefty investment though. Yeah I've seen some interesting homemade jobs too, none that look particularly appealing. Thanks for watching man!

The end result shows the flaws with battle companies. One team can start steam rolling very fast. My campaign I was Isengard, friend was Minis Tirith. First game he had a hero die, hero captured, troop injured. So next game he only had 3 troops vs my 7 uruk scouts with F4 S4. Towards the end of the campaign were we stopped playing I had 3 beserkers backed up by pikes, it made the battles very one sided.
