That can do plenty of damage to anyone and this scammer is gonna get it. There's a difference between scamming and hacking, scammers are like little kids trying to convince you to give them info based on how naive you are, compared to hacking where you find holes in the code and exploit them to gain access before anyone even imagines what you are trying to do.

Thank you for the heads up. Just saw JB's video. I too was scammed and nearly lost a whole month's pay. Fortunately YT support was able to get me back into my account before the money was released. Scary but just another reminder to be alert 24/7. Glad it all worked out for these KZbinrs and they were able to get their stuff recovered. its also a new feature, the moving your audience thing. it gives the scammer a big canvas to draw shit about, the scammed zero idea about what is actually happening, and the service provider (its Google here) absolute zero anticipation to see this coming. just like what Jim kinda said, the interface is confusing and you don't know what the buttons do until you click them, which also lead Jim to ask confirmation to the "employee (scammer)" which of course is a lie, but you won't know until you tested it. i guess another rule of thumb to avoid getting scammed is, if something is new/you are facing something you have zero idea about/you don't feel like neither you or that screen belonged there last time you saw it, its a good time to ask questions and be paranoid, even to yourself.

I’ve had emails in the past from “sponsors” that want you to install their program and review it. I have to say, sometimes it does seem quite convincing. Good way to test is to quote them a stupidly high figure, if they still say yes, then it’s probably not real

I feel like that it is partially Google's fault for allowing emails to even be sent from an @google domain. Also, they could add a verification badge in Gmail (That is only visible in the client and is a unique image outside of the message box (So it can't be perfectly replicated as it is part of the Gmail client itself) that says something like "Verified Google Sender" or "Verified KZbin Support".
