It’s so important that we share our experiences. Thank you! I am now six years post- double mastectomy and feel really great. I did not choose reconstruction because my mastectomy was my first surgery ever, and I would have had to do the full reconstruction with stretchers, skin grafts, etc. My cancer was stage two and three lumps. What I learned is that there is a lot of fear among women of all ages about breast cancer. I was able to share my experience in a positive way that people told me specifically helped alleviate their fears. Instead of breast cancer being a complete nightmare, it could be an experience women may have, but it doesn’t have to be terrifying. I always thought I would fall apart if I had cancer, but I did not. I gained powerful insight about myself and about life. I wish I hadn’t had cancer, but I don’t feel it’s a death sentence.

I'm so glad you are sharing this information for other women who may have gone through this surgery it might need to go through it in the future. My mom had a double mastectomy and was not prepared at all for the difficulties of the experience.

Wow I came across this accidentally Jessica! Can I just wish you well, what an amazing woman you are. So helpful and inspiring to many. I don’t or haven’t had breast cancer but my heart goes out to all who suffer. I’m sure everyone sharing in your journey will be resonating and hopefully healing alongside of you. How do I know who you are, I’ve been doing a walk out video that you obviously uploaded several years ago. Gets me started in my day and leads the way to recovery as I continue on with rotator cuff exercises after extensive surgery almost a year ago now. I’ve tried your routine thank you and my own NHS set of shoulder work outs. Thanks for inspiring me. Beautiful lady with a kind heart. I am full of gratitude for your channel and all that you do. Take care, sending positivity, energy, light and the biggest of warm hugs xx ❤

Exactly the same, cording went down my wrist and hand, axilas are tired, boobs are half numb half hurting. I wanted to see the 6 months upadate and at the same time was afraid of what will come lol. Hope your are fully recovered if it s possible, and feel more like it s your body. Thanks again for sharing !

You look wonderful, Jessica. I have had a very similar path as you. There’s hope for the future, though, with fat grafting becoming a more viable option and tissue chambers for autologous flap grafting. You’re in a good position to change from implants as these advances become more mainstream, if you ever want to. In the meantime, you’re healthy, and that matters most. ❤
