I’ve been arching my back the same way but flat footing it and felt that gave me a stable base. I will try the 45 degree tomorrow morning. Thanks for the tips and coaching!

Reporting back. With my head over the back of the bench and my feet at 45 I do feel more stable and was able to get one extra rep before failure this morning

You forget that some feds don't allow the feet to be raised, they need to be flat.

What if you want to use bench for bodybuilding physique surley you dont need to arch like that

People forget that the CNS takes a while to warm up, like grip. You might be able to get 40kg in a 1" pinch but the first 10kg feels heavy. A couple baby jumps and before you know it 40kg feels easy

Does your chest still get the focus and workout? I find i dont feel the chest being involved as much? Thx
@AustralianStrengthCoach
@AustralianStrengthCoach 21 күн бұрын
The chest is definitely hugely involved, but this technique is definitely better for involving as many different muscles as possible to lift the heaviest loads, so it’s not as isolated for pecs as other variations.
