Again, the plot of this episode revolves around a decision that makes no sense. Why would parangosky lie about what the spike does, and why is it a bad thing? She gives Ackerson the impression that the Spartans are sent to their deaths pointlessly, when in reality she has a decent chance of wiping out an entire covenant fleet at the cost of relatively few human lives. Her decision, as well as Ackersons resulting actions, don't make sense in a galaxy where humanity is fighting against its very extinction. Side note, wouldn't it be so much easier for her to achieve her goals if the Spartans could be used as special forces alongside the entire military she abandoned on reach? Another side note. Why do all the major conflicts happen OFF SCREEN? The show is hardly low on budget

One of the biggest issues with the show is the plotline that the covenant is a huge problem and the extinction of the human race is on the line isn't conveyed well. If it was then plan to send the spartans on a suicide mission to give humanity more time would seem logical. Hell even the spartans themselves would probably be down with it. They ran the simulations where they all die except like 2 people. They realize they probably won't make it anyway. I think reach in this alternate timeline is just like a normal planet and not a military stronghold, onyx is the stronghold so I suppose it kind of makes sense they abandon reach and rally at the main stronghold in this timeline. As for the last part I really hold they saved all the budget for an epic shipboarding fight scene in the last episode.

Corporations get money back on their taxes if they fund arts projects, such as TV shows. They don't have to be good or even be watched. Look up Warner Bros and canceling Coyote Vs Acme. Finished movie, that made them more money by not being seen by anybody. The world is beyond fucked and its because companies like Microsoft spend more on Lobbying the government than they do actually providing the services they're known for.

Mate, this show makes me so irrationally angry. Such bad decisions are continuously made and all the characters are bafflingly stupid. I started reading some more of the books, and having the barest levels of competency being demonstrated in things like military strategy or critical thinking is a breath of fresh air. The whole premise of the show being fundamentally divergent from the previously established (and proven popular by fans, a “captive audience” - aka: easy money) universe is so painfully inept. It poisoned the well from the beginning but I held on that there was at least going to be some cool shit to watch, but URGH. It just hurts. And the people sticking up for this mediocre garbage? Mad as shit. This could- this *should* have been phenomenal. Adding another ‘missed opportunity’ that has made up the last 10 or so years of Halo. The memes are fun but I’ve never hoped a show gets cancelled more than this one.

@@LucefieD to be fair 1. to create something to interface a Covenant ship must mean they have been on a Covenant ships before to understand their reactors and this technology 2. for every 10 UNSC ships they can take down 1 Covie ship. Which means 10 ships = capturing a solar system destroying weapon for the UNSC that can wipe an entire Covenant armada. 3. Therefore strategically when they retreated from Reach leaving everyone to die. They could have wiped the entire covenant fleet with just capturing a Corvet class ship…. I’m just pointing out they created a silver bullet which is pretty much power scaled the UNSC to incredible heights, not thinking of the implications to the rest of the story. And I’m just talking about this Halo TV universe. But tbh it’s just a show and I bet the whole purpose of creating it is because they will destroy Halo with it in season 3. As there is no Pillar of Autumn.

Almost like noble teams mission only instead of cortana it's to acquire this.... ship killing weapon. Although now that I think about it that's pretty much what halo does itself. A tactical pulse that kills everything... so why have this secondary thing that also does that. Overall the show could have been way better obviously if they cut out more of the human side of stuff and focused on reach. I mean they needed kwan to open the flood lab but that's about it. They could have ditched her character and just had halsey and miranda figure it out. I will say the introduction of the flood does have my interest peaked and I dare say I'm almost excited for season 3.

I think that there is always only one screenwriter who writes all the series, books and films worldwide. This screenwriter likes robots and he believes that they will soon come to life (like Pinocchio), he likes rings and he believes that civilizations just emerge for no reason, the future looks bleak for people who are not billionaires, etc.... .The guy has written all the scripts since the beginning of TV and cinema. To actually enjoy this show i had to just clear my mind if establidhed lore and story. In a way i kind of prefer they didn't adapt whats already been done, we would know what would happen and how. Not saying its vetter by any means but it's certainly... Interesting to watch unfold, this season has been a mich better experience for me compsred to the first. Kwan was somewhat interesting in this episode i dont like that shes a blessed one or whatever but at least it went sormwhere that was interesting, the flood research laboratory they found was a very good tease to whats to come even though it wasnt so subtle from the cave markings. I was actually intrigued to know more about it.

I think this may be the first episode this season where I could almost watch without cringing. Almost. We had the trio mathematician, linguist, and the mystic enter the lab of doom. One arm and his wife almost end the quest to find their son ( why, why oh lord could you not have just ended that quest). At last master cheeks finally finds his armor and nearly wears it all, nearly. Lastly he see the Halo. I really think the original storyline was way better and I believe there could be room in that to fiddle with it a bit and still not completely offend all the fans. I am still horrified to think that there are some people who watch this show and think of this as the story of Halo. They would still need to pull a miracle out there wazoo for me to stay subscribed to paramount. I would rather watch an animated series that follows the story than this.

Why is the slip space jump from Onyx to that star system so short and looks to be barely a minute? They did a poor job establishing the scope of this battle and how far apart everything is - that's all I'm sayin'. Difficult to establish some stakes when it's barely explained where everything is.

When Shreiberstein BowlegGold the chosen one is standing next to his armor, it's literally smaller than him. Which is hysterical because his female fellow spartan literally is almost his same size. Well at least that insufferable lesbian woman with the goofy platoon got donkey-punched. I'm almost at the point where I am having to realize that writing is now total garbage. An 8 episode season and for the 7th episode we waste sooo much time on pointless stories....we dont care about kessler we dont care about the pirate story i dont care for them trying to force kawn mystic bs and idc about maki self loathing.why in the last episode say kai say i always trust chief only to beat him up cause she does not in fact trust him....the problem is poor writing void of staying true to source material and so many pointless stories like why.why was 40 mins wasted just to finally put chief in his suit.

Did you not play halo 4. . That's literally what the librarian states. That John had forerunner DNA that's why he was special. Now it's just all the Spartans instead of just John..

And that's the problem. John being a one-off, I can kind of understand. But all the Spartans having that same genetic mutation and that being the reason why Halsey decided to make the Spartans in the first place, is a bad spin on the reason behind the Spartan's creation. I wasn't a fan of the genesong idea in Halo 4 either. And the wider implication that the Librarian imposed a Gaes on the human race that would lead them to developing A.I, Mjolnir armour and other forms of advanced technology feels like a cop out and makes humanity look like idiots. It undermines humanity's major achievements as just "ancient aliens told us to do it". That's part of a wider problem with 343's take on the Forerunners, is that they have to be involved with *everything*, and because of that the mystery and intrigue is sapped out of them.

The genesong dates all the way back to Halo CE. It is hinted at by some of the dialog of Guilty Spark. It is also hinted at in "The Flood". MC is somehow able to instinctively operate forerunner control panels. Cortina questions him about it, and John cannot explain how he knew what to press. Also the librarian never said that MC had forerunner DNA. She said that she implanted seeds (a gaes) in certain human DNA. Read all the books and as far as I know there is no splicing of forerunner DNA with any other species.

The ring is to nearby to the fleets of both teams and ackerson said that is possible to wipe the halo out too with the explosion, what I think is that the explosion has an epicenter, and the rest is just a harmless expansion of the explosion coz such weapon to exist is just crazy and like you said, whats the point with the Halo. If you don´t like the show you are free to no watch it anymore.

I definitely have problems with the show, but let me argue against some of your critique. 1. Cortana leading the covenant to halo is very stupid, but she did the same thing in "The Fall of Reach". Instead of performing a random jump when fleeing Reach, she jumped the pillar of Autumn in a straight line to the Halo with Covenant ships in pursuit. She did it out of curiosity knowing the covenant were interested in whatever may be at the coordinates she plotted. 2. If the UNSC abandoned Reach because they could not win that fight, what makes you think that they could muster a force to try and take the ring. The only option is Parangoscy's plan to sacrifice an entire fleet and the spartan 3's to make sure the covenant do not get the ring.

Hahaha is there still people around spending their time hating on the show? 😂 Can't you just admit that season 2 is a really big approvment from the first one? Sure the game and books are great but this show is more and more standing on its own legs and doing its own thing. But of course if you still want to find issues and just hate (which seems like it is a thing nowadays) just go ahead. Atleast the opinions on reddit about the show seems to have turned around for the better.
