Today's videoobzor devoted to the use of clay, non-marking, for the application of camouflage paint plastic models.
Often called clay office.
Today we look at two types of this clay:
Patafix (white) - sold in the shops "the World Models".
Blu Tack (blue) - purchased at the hardware store.
Its adhesive properties and elasticity of these types of clay do not differ from each other. The important thing is that they do not leave a greasy residue which is very difficult then to paint.
The use of this type of clay allows to paint camouflage field on the model, with diffuse edges, which approaches the color of the model to the copied original.
Before use, the clay should soften and the fashion of it so-called "sausages", which are applied to the model by referring to the drawings, diagrams or photographs copied prototype. At the same unpaintable part of the model, in order to paint you must close, mask tape, cellophane. During the show we used plastic foil, purchased at a hardware store.
When painting you should place the airbrush at a constant angle of inclination, relative to the edge of the "sausages", to avoid uneven, ragged edges of camouflage fields.
